Ah, the 323, the pride of the Northern Rail fleet - but soon to be sent out to London Midland. Only decent train Northern have got. Soon commuting to Manchester will feel like the 70s again...

Well, not true, they've got Adelantes as well - pretty good diesels, but behind the Desiros though. They're also due to go to Grand Central...

Is this some kind of punishment for the congestion charge failing?

The Class 323 has more power than a Class 31 and is also the same weight as a Class 31 running light engine!

No wonder they are incredibly fast.

Yes but they have similar stats to a Class 31 running light engine so it's no wonder they move fast.

Not an even race as the aspects could have been different on each track and if am ryte they was prob both goin on the track towards ardwick so one track wud have had an amber aspect to let one unit get ahead

Ive been on the 185 from manchester to manchester airport. Its really nice onboard. it looks like a plane, lol.

haha owned... but to be fair the 323 had a straight run the 185 had points to go over and it could have been switching tracks

i'd need to say they would probably have the same acceleration the 323's are rockets but the 185's are most likley the fastest accelerating diesil train:) 5*
