  • Just explain how muck you like his stuff, he is so interesting to you :D

  • I use my granddad's 1966 Gillette Knack and my Merkur 38c. They're awesome.

  • a trick to test the sharpness ofthe straight razor. get one hair. just one, preferably a longer hair, and just drag it across the blade, it should spilt. instantly thats shaving sharp

  • I don't know man, I'm to much of a panzy to use a straight razor...

  • Great review. Where did you/Ken get the razors that used razor blades? That would be sweet to have.

  • The safety razor he got at his store. The 'straight' razor (which is a hair shaper) you can get at a beauty supply store.

  • Thank you. I desperately need a good shave, lol.

  • @CRNFAllyKat You say he is afraid to use the straight, yet he uses a hair shaper, trust me the straight will me easier to use, he has nothing to fear, besides if you're going to cut yourself what more of a manly way is there to do it?

  • I keep running out of room, lol also if you want to gte the value on that case razor go to knifeforums dot (com) and ask abotu it in the bernard levine section, that man is a genious and can tell you everyhtign about it you coudl possibly want to know...I own a few of his books...he knows his stuff on vinage knives!!!!!!

  • p.s. straight razors are actually easy to sharpen because the spine of the blade is the set angle for the edge in other words when sharpening you kep the blade flat against the stone...but most razors shoudl never get to where it needs to be sharpened, but with use if you strop it on a leather trop justa few passes will do you good, of course you need a compund too for the strop, anyway if you get the right stuff its worth the short time and effort that is needed to get it to shave easily...

  • Ken knows all about how to sharpen his straight razor. He even has a DVD about it. He is waiting to buy a strop before he uses it. Personally I don't really care but then again I don't use his straight razor (much).

  • You know I dont own any straight razors? I really should, lol, I just use cheapo throw aways...but you woudl think I woudl be shaving old school being such a knife nut, lol...

  • Ken is the only knife nut I know that shaves with a straight razor. Now a days it would be better on your wallet to get a straight razor (in the long run)and better for the in environment too.

You get a much better shave once you get used to it.

  • I agree...my only problem is I coudlnt settle for a cheapo razor, lol I woudl ahve to shell out some moolah to get a nice one, so I ahve been outtign it off for a while but after your video I might just have to just get one, lol...

  • @cutlerylover How did i know before i read the name it was you Jeff lol

  • its best not to strop before your first shave grab shave and go if its shave ready run under hot water get your first few shaves out of the way and then strop ... better yet take his straight razor and use it yourself on your legs

  • Nice, I just sold a few straight razors from the late 1800's for a neighbor of mine, on ebay, they actually sold ofr $200! 3 of them as a lot...she knew I liked knives and she needed money but had no idea what they were worth or how to go about selling them...

  • So, did you get in trouble? And if so, did you get a spanking? And if so, are there pictures of it?

  • Did I get in trouble?

    Yes.

    Did I get a spanking?

    Possibly.

    Are there pictures?

    Wouldn't you like to know?

  • i will send you a video show how to test the sharpness of a strait razor
