I loved The Elder, but I thought the song `I` was kinda cheesy, and that stupid Morpheus shit at the end never fails to embarrass.They got back on track musically the following year with Creatures Of The Night; one of their heaviest releases ever.Kiss' other heaviest releases are Lick It Up, Animalize, Revenge, Carnival Of Souls, Rock-n-Roll Over, and Hotter Than Hell.The only disc you should avoid is the one titled `Unmasked`,that one is pure bubblegum...

The Elder was released during KISS's teeny bopper/Justin Bieber/Bay City Rollers/NYNC etc period.

No wonder they could not sell this record, as even too musically mature for most of their fans of the ALIVE 1 period back then. The silly crying end to this video did  not help matters.

Unfortunately, the Elder has crapped upon by Carrottop and other celebrities who probably have never listened to this masterpiece that gets better and better with each musical maturity level

If you like Music from "The Elder" you like it, I personally feel it is an album on the level of terrible as Metallica's St. Anger and Morbid Angel's Illud Divinum Insanus. As a KISS fan the albums I enjoy are the first six 1970's albums, Creatures of the Night, and Revenge, the latter being just as good as Dressed to Kill and Destroyer.

I think this was one of those powerful songs that one wold have never expected from Gene. My uncle has the four "solo" albums the band released on records (original release), and he said this was his favorite song from Gene's. To me, it ranks right up there with Peter's original recording of "Beth".
