So....laggy. I watched your main TRACKIR + Arma 2 vid. That video, coupled with several years of passin interest, made me buy TRACKIR 5 online. so I downloaded the demo or Arma 2 and as dismayed to find it ran like crap. My PC can play many good-looking games at a high fps. But the Arma 2 demo...wow. I had to turn all settings to Very Low in order to get 15 fps. Something it wrong here, like this choppyness, and I hope the devs are well on their way into patching it.

I'm going to get this game, no doubt. I hope the online community is as tactical/cooperative/willing to teamwork/communicative as this (awesome) movie makes it out to be, would be the best battle simulator I've yet to see if so.

brilliant job, really feels alive, like a movie. Generation Kill got nothing on this :D

(Btw, the game is called Armed Assault and the clan you're in is Shack Tactical, right? Just checking )

Yeah, that's Armed Assault - ArmA1. ArmA2 is out now, though. And yes, the video is filmed by me, and the group is Shack Tactical. Can't promise you'll get our quality of play in the public community, though. ;)

Love watching these videos. I played OFP from the day it came out and played arma a bit, bought it again recently when i found out about the Warfare mode.

I would love to have joined you guys but being in the UK my latency would have been through the roof. Shame, looks fun.

Depends on the mission, mod, etc. In the ACE mod, firefights can last a very long time. We've had some firefights that have gone on for 30 minutes, with us fighting off dozens of enemy troops.

~120 at the moment. We break things down in TS to squad channels, and utilize channel commander and in-game VON to help keep things understandable.

We don't use SLX. I use FDF Sounds and 6th Sense tracers, but that's it.

We run it as a private server. There's information about applying to join on my site - a word of warning, though: The join criteria are very strict and we reject about 4 people for everyone one we let in. .

That's a bug with custom faces when viewed from an ATi videocard. They end up being 50% lighter than they should be, roughly.
