  • Richard Muller, Global Warming Skeptic, Now Agrees Climate Change Is Real

SETH BORENSTEIN 10/30/11 03:39 PM ET

WASHINGTON — A prominent physicist and skeptic of global warming spent two years trying to find out if mainstream climate scientists were wrong. In the end, he determined they were right: Temperatures really are rising rapidly. ....

  • Serial or cereal manbearpig?

  • @codergames

I know lots of people don't like Al Gore because of the biased info they hear from a few talking heads out there. I understand, they need ratings and have to have someone to hate or blame.

It would be nice if the people who don't like Al Gore or his message did a little research themselves into climate change and global warming, then they would see that Al is on the right track. We are warming, we are having climate change and man has had an impact on our environment.

  • @MLBinwa Of course the planet is heating up, you got lava eruptions, explosions, earthquakes, it's cooking and our Father in Heavens will destroy all the evil. You do know that Al Gore is just a puppet, right? His masters have built underground facilities to spend hundreds of years if need be, while we kill each other on the surface dying from bio-engineered organisms they made for us. Well, those underground facilities are about to be cooked real nice and the entire plan of NWO is gonna fail.

  • @codergames

I do not know that he is a puppet. I'm not an expert on Al Gore. I did film this video live and so heard everything he said and have watched many things on him and read parts of his book. I personally feel that he does care and pray I'm right.

I'm aware of many underground facilities. My goal is to do what we can to take care of the above ground world as much as we can in the next few years. I still have hope we can wake up and change things, if not, I'll just have to ascend.

  • Al Gore is officially the biggest douche in the universe!

  • @RancheroBFT

Why do you think that? Did you really talk to all the intelligent life in our Universe? (of course I know you didn't because if you had, they would have told you that Al speaks the truth more then the scientists who are funded by our dominate energy companies.

  • @MLBinwa sorry, but I think you must either be Al Gore himself or a complete retard.

  • Is global warming real?

    Yes, undeniably

Is global warming going to cause an ice age or put continents underwater?

    No, that's bullsh*t

  • @Icarus0595

If you study history you will see that Ice ages do follow warming. There are evidence of major flooding on every continent on our planet, it's in the history of the people. We are in for a big change soon and I'm a firm believer that man has impacted our world, but chopping down too many trees, many in the wrong places and not reforesting them in a more sustainable way. We have the solutions to our challenges and as more people understand we must change, I have hope we will.

  • Don't say "April Fool", say "Global Warming Sucker".

  • this moron could'nt even beat Georgeb Bush, why should we believe anything he says?

  • @aranterranting

Not very good logic, lose an election, so therefore what you say isn't true?

Study climate scientists and see what they say about Global Warming. Study the deniers and see where they get their funds from (Hint, big energy)

  • @MLBinwa Well pots and kettles are floating around everywhere.Big energy are funding the global warming deniers( i call them realists ) are they? Big energy are the ones behind this lie

  • @MLBinwa outstanding logic, if you are so stupid as to not even beat a stupid president, then you're a moron - then, why believe a moron?

  • @Nightverslonn

Not sure where your going here??? I never said Al was stupid or a moron, nor do I think the smartest presidential candidate gets elected.

  • @MLBinwa I have studied it. I don't believe in global warming.

  • @pmcgraw13

I'm glad you have studied global warming. I wonder who you have studied as most scientist who study it say it is happening and we are having climate change as a result. From what I have learned a new ice age could follow pretty quick.

I'd suggest you study a bit more, keep an open mind. Some big corporations do fund scientist and think tanks to say global warming isn't true, and I understand why they do, as they gross trillions of dollars selling us old dirty energy.

  • @MLBinwa You just said it yourself. An ice age could follow. Doesn't sound like global warming to me. I have studied who will gross trillions of dollars and it's the people endorsing cap and trade.

  • @pmcgraw13

The planet is warming overall, this is a fact right now. I watched parts of a video titled "Stopping The Coming Ice Age" the other day (it's on youtube) It talks about cycles of warming (about 10,000 years) followed by another Ice Age. There was some good info in it, but some of the people's idea about the coming ice age was wrong. They said the temperatures could change dramatically within 20 years based on their research.

  • @MLBinwa the planet was warming overall - there hasn't been any warming for 10 yrs now, in fact we've seen cooling for the last 4

  • @Nightverslonn

What research do you have to support your position. I found this in seconds

    January 12, 2011 noaanews.noaa.gov

According to NOAA scientists, 2010 tied with 2005 as the warmest year of the global surface temperature record, beginning in 1880. This was the 34th consecutive year with global temperatures above the 20th century average. For the contiguous United States alone, the 2010 average annual temperature was above normal, resulting in the 23rd warmest year on record.

Alaska seeing impact of climate change in its infrastructure, villages

Climate change has already begun to make life difficult for state transportation managers. And they expect it to become a bigger and more expensive challenge if warming trends continue as predicted.

  • Biased and in many ways, bending facts. Not to mention how much of an absolute hypocrite he is!! I couldnt believe how much he travelled in the film. Is there really any need? Spend all that money on a TV ad or something? Airplanes here, airplanes there. 'Buy a hybrid, buy a bike', and heres him flying eveywhere, and getting driven around in his massive American car. Hypocrite prick looking for popularity. Maybe your the problem Al, you and all your fat, dumb, oil burning countrymen. Scumbag.

  • @Ru8isCO

Have you ever thought about what the net effect has been regarding all of Al Gore's trips, seminars, books and the documentary "An Inconvenient truth?

Of course it would be impossible to know, or even come close, but I'd say most reasonable people would have to admit, that the amount of energy it has taken him to fly around the world is a small drop in the bucket compared to he Hearts and minds he has changed.

Millions have and continue to change, please join us.... :)

  • Why do deniers obsess over Gore? Do they think he forced thousands of scientists to lie so he can make more money? Come on now let's get real. There have been many, many studies over the last 30+ years. They have been conducted not only by US related scientists but by professionals from many other countries as well. These studies form a strong foundation for the many credible scientific institutions. They ALL concur that we are warming the planet!

    Gore is YOUR transparent distraction.

  • @ReduceGHGs

To answer your question, I'd say most of the deniers who obsess over Gore only repeat what they hear from a few talking heads. Their minds are then set, so won't listen to or read anything from real scientist who know that our planet is warming and dramatic climate change has been a result.

I'd recommend not spending too much time talking with them, they are the minority. Let's focus on what we can do to help humanity create more solutions. Millions are changing now.

  • @phantomscolts2

Continued..."The Czech Republic is already seeing the effects of climate change in more frequent extreme weather events and changes in biodiversity.

"But possibly the most important change is in the increasing drying out of the landscape as drier periods get longer and are followed by bursts of intense rainfall which the dry soil cannot absorb. This has a very significant effect on underground water supplies." ...

  • @phantomscolts2

What do you think of this article?

PRAGUE, Jan 22, 2011 (IPS) - Half of the Czech Republic’s population could face water shortages because of climate change, a top climate change expert has warned.

The country has become one of the driest in the EU, according to local media, and climatologists say the land, and crucial underground water supplies, are drying up.

Professor Michal Marek, head of the EU-funded CzechGlobe climate change research project, told IPS...

  • Although I don't believe Anthropogenic Global Warming is real, I don't necessarily disagree with reducing the global pollution emissions. Why not establish a "Pollution Tax" if accompanied by a reduction in payroll taxes... In this case you could in fact give companies the incentive to pollute less without increasing the amount of taxes they have to pay.

Over time they would find ways to pollute less and less

  • " And by the way Al Gore, if you wanted to teach us how to save energy you could have shot your freaking face off!" - John Cleese (Just for Laughs - Britains comedy hour)

  • Al Gore and the carbon credit lobby are going to bankrupt small business and put more people out of their homes with their increased energy costs, which will help pay for some more of his extravagant lifestyle. I'd like to shove Gore in a nice toasty hot pizza oven.

  • I was wondering if any of you fools who believe in man made climate change could answer this question. What is the reason that the glaciers from the last 1/2 doz. or so ice ages receded? And if you have the answer, give me the reason as to why that is not the reason for climate change now. I'm sure it's George Bushs' fault, but I want to hear you say it.

  • @moirajean8

Did you read this just released article on our wonderful Ocean? I just saw it. Let's both read it and comment on what we learned, what we liked, what we disagreed with etc.. We can have some fun and educate ourselves and others.

"Why we need a Hubble for the seas"

By Kevin Ulmer, Special to CNN

    December 28, 2010 3:19 p.m. EST

  • @moirajean8

I just read this, what comments do you have for this research?

"Our Earth is running a slight fever from inhaling excessive amounts of carbon dioxide for the past few centuries, and the oceans are the largest reservoir for absorbing all this excess CO2. But at present, we have very limited ability to monitor the health of our patient, understand the impacts all this carbon dioxide will have on its chemistry and its inhabitants, and predict the future course of the "infection."

  • @MLBinwa Just read it.From what I gather from this article is that oceanic monitoring, specifically in the area of CO2 is, according to this artical, woefully underfunded.Comparatively to space monitoring. The health of the "patient" if you will,is of paramount importance. I hope your not drawing any conclusions from this other than it needs to be studied. I wonder if they will take into account the vast amount of undersea volcanic activity. I'm gonna look into this Ulmer, see if he's on the up&up

  • @moirajean8

I am "not drawing any conclusions from this", I am drawing my conclusion from the fact that without the food from the Ocean, life would cease to exist as we know it , from what i know.

I Love our Ocean, and have learned from many Ocean experts that it is in critical condition right now, so the more we learn about it, the better humanity will be in the now and in the future. I look forward to hearing about your conclusions from your investigation of Mr. Ulmer.

  • @MLBinwa I agree that we go as the ocean goes. Many factors go into the condition of the worlds oceans. I think that the way we fish it and chemical run off and dumping are two areas that can have tangible benefits with it's balance and health. I have always believed we should know more about our planet before we know more about outer space.Although I have to admit, the shows on space that air on Discovery and History channels are quite informative and interesting.

  • Al Gore = Pure Bullshit!

Stockholm is forecast to experience its coldest seasonal temperatures for over 100 years this week as winter weather takes hold of the country, according to the Swedish Meteorological Institute (SMHI).

  • @Slave2Reason

Thanks for the great news that our planet has reversed it's warming, since one city is experiencing its coldest seasonal temperatures in over 100 years.

So, does that mean that we are in global cooling now?

Your comment really shows that you don't know much about GW and how we Know it is happening. You can debate how much impact humans have had, but not the fact that as a whole our planet is warming and almost all climate scientists know this. Don't be a slave 2 your reason

  • @MLBinwa Sorry but the entire planet has been cooling in the past few years, hence the "hide the decline" reference in the ClimateGate e-mails. Temperatures had the greatest rate of rise from 1700-1735 before the industrial revolution than at any time during the 20th century.

Also, why do temperatures rise BEFORE there is an increase in Carbon. Volcanos throw more carbon into the atmosphere than humans could ever hope to... Global warming is a fraud!

  • @Slave2Reason

I'm guessing you believe Christopher Monckton on the issue of Global Warming?

I did an internet search and found some interesting things on him. I would suggest you look into him a bit more if that's who your basing your opinions on.

Google "warmest years on record and see what organizations like NASA say about the warmest years on record.

If you still think our planet has been cooling overall, please supply me with some research to support your position.

  • @MLBinwa You might get a kick out of Googling these:

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998

    SATELLITE INDICATES 23-YEAR GLOBAL COOLING

Scientific evidence now points to global cooling, contrary to U.N. alarmism

and on youtube: Global Cooling since 1998

  • I wonder if Al [ private jets and limos ] Gore has talked lately to his buddy Ottmar Edenhofer. He is the Co-chair of the UN IPCC. He said, and I quote"one must say clearly that we redistribute the worlds wealth by climate policy" and "environmental policy has NOTHING to do with climate" Al better get ahold of Ol' Ottmar and tell him to put a lid on it. The last thing we need is Al [ do as I say,not as I do ] Gore to have to give his awards back. Al Gore is a fearmongering profitering charlatan

  • Put the water back out of the pipelines and back into the world. The sky between us and the sun is a firmament made up of water vapor., the more water we hold in pipelines the less is evaporated back to the sky so the firmament is thinner and hence the sun pelts harder.., its just natural law ffs.., stop trying to control your environment

  • Al [ the sky is falling ] Gore says 2+2=5....pass it along

  • @moirajean8

Thanks for helping to spread the word about the sky falling.

OK, so Al didn't have all the correct info in his documentary, and like all of us doesn't know all the truth.

I give him lots of credit for getting people to think about many of our serious challenges.

It really is a Planetary Emergency, not one to fear, but one to do what we can and seek the truth and make positive changes exponentially. I have faith in humanity that lots of great things will happen soon.

  • @moirajean8

I just read a great article in The Atlantic by: James Fallows titled: Dirty Coal, Clean Future. You can read it online for free, check it out if you want to know the latest on coal and a lot more.

Climate Scientists take stand against skeptics

  • how can he talk about solutions and yet live in mansions, fly in private jets and ride in limos?

what retard would actually listen to a hypocrit like this?

  • it's a scam

  • Why is this even being talked about anymore. You were all had. I want to fill up my monster truck with a lot of gasoline and drive over to Al Gores house and kick that mother fucker so hard in the nut sack his eyes will pop out of their sockets and be replaced by his balls. Who in? We can all take turns kicking that Idiot. I think even his wife would help bitch beating this douche bag. It would be like " GO! TIPPER! GO!"

  • @STOPGLOBALSTUPIDITY

Well, It's being talked about because it is real. Climate Change is here and humanity has played a part. Have you heard of the extreme heat and fires in Russia? How about the flooding in Pakistan and China? Or the massive ice sheet that broke off last Thursday?

Of course I know you might not have read them, might have been in your anger management classes. I know it takes time, but stay with them you will see results soon. :)

  • @MLBinwa Even when glaciers grow they calve. There are always fires regardless if its warm. Floods are caused by water not temperature. See this bullshit has always be about circus fodder. And this guy is the ring master for the fools of the world. This guy is a pervert and will rape a woman if he hasn't already. And YOU BELIEVE HIM. In my anger management class we have a dummy of Al Gore and we all take turns (practice) ball bashing him and I can feel the climate changing with every kick.

  • @STOPGLOBALSTUPIDITY

I suggest you find another anger management class.

I do not rely on what Al Gore says about GW / Climate Change, I rely on top climate scientists from around the world.

Regardless of if humanity has played a part (I know we have) our world has been and will continue to deal with the changes and it will cost many lives and cost hundreds of millions of dollars to react to it.

We need cleaner energy and energy independence and the byproduct would be reduction in GHG's.

  • @MLBinwa Did you actually hear the absolute crazy taxation ideas this bone head proposed on CO2 in this video? It's not even a pollutant. It's plant food. Eliminate all CO2 on this planet will kill everything including your very popular GREEN MOVEMENT. GHG's are good for green houses and that's what we live on. There is not a shred of physical evidence that supports all of this nonsense. The Euro drones have abandoned it. China just laughs about it. Need... is not a you think proposition.

  • @STOPGLOBALSTUPIDITY

Since I was in the room and filmed this and have had the video up for a few years, do you think I have listened to it?

Who said anything about eliminating CO2?

We currently pollute our air, water and land a tremendous amount by producing energy the way we have been? It's not just about CO2. What else is produced by burning coal?

China is the largest user of renewable energy as of this year from what I have heard.

    Is America energy independent?

  • @STOPGLOBALSTUPIDITY

I'm not into the Green Movement per se, I'm into the sustainable movement and there is some overlap. Lots of things that are said to be Green are only a slight improvement and still won't lead to a sustainable planet for humans.

You will see the biggest change in the next four years, and it has already started, you can sit by as long as you want, not everyone will join in or even needs to.

  • @MLBinwa have you forgotten the "LAW OF CONSERVATION OF MASS " ????

Yes you the Psudo Science Crew led by Algore just cant get past the LAWS OF SCIENCE.

Matter can not be created or destroyed ... SO WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU SUSTAINING ????

    WAKE UP YOU MORONS !

The FACT is Algore is a lawyer, who is now invested heavily in "Green Tech", he also has Marxist political views , so is it any wonder he pushes and agenda which will make him rich and powerful ?

  • @electroman076

Google "overfishing of the Ocean" and spend some time seeing what people are saying about our fish stocks in the Ocean.

Then you will understand what I mean by Sustainability. There are lots of examples of industries that died because they were not sustainable.

I firmly believe that humanity is not sustainable at it's current rate of industrial growth and the resultant pollution from such growth.

Check out the growth of China and India? It is not sustainable.

  • @MLBinwa China? You have to be kidding me!. Do you actually know how much energy is needed to produce these "So called" clean energy systems. "I heard" is about worst reason to believe something. The hole GHG B.S. leaves out one very important point. Reduce it to WHAT? And how do you prove it. Or do they ( scientific community) use the "consensus" process again. Which proves nothing except that they all "heard" the same thing.

4 years? Are you starting a cult? Like Al

  • @STOPGLOBALSTUPIDITY

China tops USA in spending on clean energy

    By Julie Schmit, USA TODAY

Last year, China spent more than any other major country on clean energy, including wind and solar, toppling the U.S. from the top spot for the first time in five years, the Pew report says. ...

  • @STOPGLOBALSTUPIDITY

No, I'm not starting a 4 years go cult. Someone already beat me to it.

Check out the "four years go" account on youtube if you have 3 minutes and want to see what they are doing.

There are millions of people who are dedicated to making many positive changes in the next four years. I'm guessing you won't be one of them? Or maybe I'm wrong, and you will join us soon. :)

  • @toxsickdog

I looked up Fear Mongerer. Here's what I found:

A fear monger is one who gets great joy and excitement by making others fear him. He survives on the joy of controlling others by scaring them.

Based on this definition I'd say Mr. Gore is not a fear mongerer. I'd say he is one of the few politicians who really understands how serious things are at this time and that we must make major changes in many of the ways we are doing business and treating one another on this planet.

  • @toxsickdog

I looked up "douche bag" Here's what I found.

A douche bag is a piece of equipment for douching—a bag for holding the fluid used in douching.

I'm even more certain Mr. Gore is not this.

The next time you attack someone, please use words that actually describe what you really think he is.

Of course I realize that you might have just repeated things that you heard, since most people who don't know how serious things are, haven't done much thinking for themselves on the issues.

  • @MLBinwa Oh no right about now i respect Al Gore as much as a bag people "douche" in mainly for is trespassing upon the territory of actually intelligent people. now you may not fall under that category but fear not if you keep supporting morons and liars you will be there soon enough.

  • @zizn8r

I am not supporting Al, I just give him credit for getting millions of people to look into the GW/Climate Change issue. I'd have to say millions of people made changes because of what he has said and done.

It seems like some people think if they can discredit Al, the truth about what's going on will go away. It won't, it's getting worse everyday. You may not believe that today, but I'll bet you will within a few years.

  • @MLBinwa i'm sorry for insulting you (not sarcastic). i didn't mean for it that way. and you are correct in saying Gore has influenced many and changed a lot in the world. for the better that is under question at the moment however you are also correct in saying the problem won't go away, in fact it wil grow just like the political movement itis until eventually we either get used to it, or something new changes the ideas once again (aka: the global cooling theory in the 70's now this)

  • Hi MLBinwa, It's been a while. I was curious as to what you have come up with over this last year. Although we are on different sides of the AGW thing. I know we agree on pollution being a problem as well as we should try and find an alternative source for power because of pollution as well as peak oil being a problem. cont...

  • @MrOTLChamp

    Hey Champ,

Since we last corresponded, I watched a documentary on the Sea. It's called "A Sea Change". It does a great job of proving that our Ocean is becoming too acidic and that the extra CO2 from us is the reason why. You can watch the trailer on youtube.

I've also heard recently that we are heating up faster then in the past (we agree that our planet goes through it's own cycles) Have you heard about the fires in Russia?

We should know more every year.

  • @MLBinwa I've got some reservations regarding the Acid ocean scare. Here's why I say that. Note the claim that pH has changed by 0.1 units over the last 200 years: it was not possible a hundred years ago, never mind 200 years ago, to measure pH to the accuracy necessary to support that assertion, so it’s just posturing. Cont....

  • @MLBinwa ....cont. Finally, notice that CO2 is branded ‘human pollution’, though CO2 is an entirely natural and absolutely essential nutrient for plant photosynthesis, without which all life on earth would certainly become extinct very quickly.

  • ....cont. However, I'm even more convinced that AGW is complete nonsense, and a pollitical scam for power and greed. But I did want you to notice the pattern of ice melting over the last 750,000 yrs. The earth goes through natural cycles of ice ages as well as warm periods. Since 750,000yrs ago the melting of ice has become greater and greater in each of the 100,000yr cycles. cont....

  • ....cont. And the cycle 100,000yrs ago was even more than we are experiencing now. And because of this pattern that has been established I truely believe that all the melting of glaciers that has made headlines over the years is completely natural and there is noway we can control it. Coupled with the fact that nowhere in history has co2 been the driving force for temperature change. cont...

  • ....cont. So, even though we humans are contributing to the increase of co2...It's not a factor for heat. Infact, I have found some very good information on the negative effects co2 has on temperature. That does explain that when the warm periods happen, co2 goes up from being released from the oceans, that the earth radically cools.

Just my perspective from what I've been able to find. Have a nice day.

  • @MrOTLChamp

Even if CO2 didn't effect the warming of our planet, we still have to deal with our dependence on foreign oil, and the wars that come as a result. I was told we have around 200 years of coal in America, and a billion years or more of Sun. I'm putting my money on the Sun. We will develop better storage for solar systems and can already generate lots of power from concentrated solar thermal.

    Have a great week. :)

  • @MLBinwa I do agree that the sun will eventually be our future in power. As oil will come to a close. It's just that we're not there yet.

  • @toxsickdog He's a bloated hypocritical liar hiding behind the fawning liberal media. He stands to make a fortune out of his cap and tax schemes while we foot the bill.

  • Gore while a Senator, VP, and AGW Prophet, pushed for or remained silent, while the #1 factor for environmental degradation, wildlife declines, and increasing GHGs, and demand for oil, like the BP catastrophe, which is immigration.

Immigrants that come into the US "polluting lifestyle" increase their carbon footprints at least fourfold, as well as destroy wildlife habitat, and increased environmental degradation.

Gore is a big fat fraud, his green is money

  • @Thisawareness

I disagree that "Gore is a big fat fraud, his green is money" While I fully admit I don't know everything about his politics and his recent business activities, I've read and heard enough that I believe he does care and has helped create awareness of how serious our current challenges are.

I wish those who dislike Al would spend more time looking into what's going on with our environment and how big business has been treating it.

We are at a tipping point, must shift soon

  • @MLBinwa His record and my statement fit perfectly. He cheerleaded for WTO creation, terrible legislation economically, human rights wise, and environmentally, and advocated an open door immigration policy which increases GHGs, decreases US wildlife and open spaces, and increases environmental degradation,as human population growth is the #1 factor for environmental degradation, loss of wildlife habitat, and increased pollution GHGs

Gore is a total fraud, and the divorce is going to reveal more

COASTAL AND OCEAN BIRDS MOST AT RISK FROM GLOBAL WARMING

Birds that rely on oceans and live on coastlines are more vulnerable to climate change than birds found in any other habitats in America, according to a new report released Thursday by federal biologists and other researchers.

  • Impacts of global warming:

    ScienceDaily

    (Feb. 5, 2010)

    — The increasing acidity of the world's oceans -- and that acidity's growing threat to marine species -- are definitive proof that the atmospheric carbon dioxide that is causing climate change is also negatively affecting the marine environment...

...says Antarctic marine biologist Jim McClintock, Ph.D., professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Biology.

  • Every time Gore says " these are hottest years on record " he lies. Google - MEDIEVAL WARM PERIOD PEER REVIEW . Many times in the past the temps were hotter with less CO2 . Al should do more research before he tries to TAX us all because of his " science " ...........

  • How can CO2 be a poisonous gas if plants need it to survive? Photosynthesis anyone? "Climate Change" is a fraud. Respond to this comment asking for proof and I will provide you with irrefutable evidence.

Also, in this video, he says that we should TAX CO2. Do you even know what that means? It means that he wants to tax the stuff you exhale!

  • did he say stop taxing pay roll and start taxing pollution INSTEAD?, its not like him to say instead, he's more the taxing pollution TOO type and with a little something extra for himself and his buddies.

  • @fudgedogbannana

Based on the responses to this video clip, it seems like the main concern is that Al Gore will be making money by helping humanity achieve a cleaner environment while helping America to become more energy independent.

I wish you would spend a little more time on looking at our current energy production and the serious side effects like the death of some of our coal miners. How about an oil spill in the Gulf? Drill baby drill? We can go down a different path or else....!

  • @MLBinwa No that is not the main concern. A greater concern is one of global taxation scam perpetrated on energy consumers world wide, specially upon Americans. In an age when snake oil salesman are thinking big(Madoff, Goldman Sachs)and in a recession one must be on his guard. A greater danger is an Al Gore kind of scam whereby laws are passed that mandate your partisapation(rate hikes)

  • @fudgedogbannana

The truth about big energy is they have been and continue to be subsidized so their cost is less then what it should be to the consumers right now.

If you don't believe me, do a search and study up on subsidies, read up on coal ash, air quality due to coal, how many miners have died in the last 100 years (around 100,000, not to mention injuries)

Check out the challenges with Nuclear accidents and waste around the sites.

    Check out uranium mining challenges...

  • @MLBinwa "They"(Al Gore types) outlaw drilling, and exploration, lobby to prohibit clean coal technology, wont allow building new nuclear power plants etc. then claim shortages and pollution to get rate hikes. They blame Americans for a high percentage of world energy use and hate us for demanding low rates, If "they" have their way we'd be giving them all our money and getting little in return.

  • @fudgedogbannana

I know crazy guys, what were they thinking. There's never been an oil spill or any nuclear accidents.

Of course I'm sure your an expert in clean coal, so please let us all know how clean it is???

When was the last time you demanded low energy rates? I'm guessing you never have, and of course I know you don't know how expensive the rates are when we get our energy from traditional sources.

    Enjoy your candle lit night.

    Peace be with you...

  • @fudgedogbannana

You can also read up on the lack of enforcement of current regulations for the mining industry as well as the lack of enforcement by the EPA.

You could also find out what has happened up in Alaska after the big oil spill. It's too early to know the full effects of the current oil spill.

How much do you think it has cost us for all the military action in the Middle East in the last 20 years? Not all oil related, but was a major reason, and they said the oil would help pay..

  • Beware people. An Inconvenient Truth is the leading propaganda film for the socialist wealth distribution scheme that is coming to all countries if Al Gore and David Suzuki, the two high priests of this global warming/climate change religion, get their wishes. You must resist. Thank God for the CRU email hack. Don't let your politicians sign any treaties. Resist the global warming SCAM!!!

  • @harbar3000

Well, hasn't there already been a wealth distribution scheme going on in America?

Do you know what percent of America stocks and real estate is owned by the top One percent of wealthiest people?

Do you think they used their power an influence to get more wealth?

Our tax system has changed a lot over the years. If I remember correctly Bush gave tax cuts to the rich saying it would create jobs? How do you think those tax cuts did?

I favor a consumption tax vs current IRS plan.

  • @harbar3000

Global Warming isn't the best words to use. I favor Climate Change. Have you noticed any Climate Change in the last ten years? If not, you might want to study up a bit more, or just wait, I'm sure you will know it's real within a year or so.

We don't know how much humans have effected our planet as far as warming goes, but if you study the pollution we have done, it's very large and can't continue for much longer without most being dead or sick.

    Cancer rates keep rising, right

  • @harbar3000

Resistance is futile, the Truth is already out, you just don't know it yet. :)

As for the "socialist wealth distribution scheme that is coming to all countries...." The real distribution scheme has already hit America, big corporations run our government and the rich have gotten a lot richer in the last ten years or so. Don't take my word, search the internet and you will know the truth yourself.

They have damaged our environment and health, it's time to change or ....

  • Al Gore is the definition of DUMB ASS MENTAL CASE!

  • @LiberalsAreWeak

I disagree with you. I listened to Al speak while I filmed this. He came across as someone who is intellegient, and very passionate about helping humanity make changes so that we can live in a cleaner environment which would lessen the disease that continues to grow at an alarming rate.

If you study the environmental conditions back in the late 60's and 70's you will see how bad it was. Things got better, now we are facing lots of major challenges.

  • @MLBinwa Yes , he is so PASSionat about helping that he has to lie about past climate. If you Google ROMAN WARM PERIOD PEER REVIEW , you will see that most studies show that the temps. were much WARMER than today. Can't blame Fossil fuel use for that .

  • @camcheck

What did Al say about past climate that makes you think he lied?

Our Earth has gone through many cycles of warming and cooling, that is natural.

What is unnatural is the way we have been treating our environment during the industrial revolution. We have polluted our environment in ways that not only effect our environment, they effect our air, water and food, which leads to diseases in our bodies and puts the future of our Children at risk.

There is hope as many are changing NOW.

  • here's a solution Al. you shut the fuck up and stop lying!

  • @rugger8541

Well, some of his figures were wrong in the movie but I don't think that it was done on purpose. The Earth and it's climate works on long cycles and we don't know everything about how it all works, although we seem to keep learning more every year.

The one thing Al was right about is when he said we are having a Planetary Emergency.

You should thank Al for getting people to think about the issues and millions of people have and continue to make positive changes because of him.

  • @MLBinwa OH yes, he got people thinking. in fact by thinking about it they helped disprove this BS movement. More scientists are members of groups OPPOSED to the idea of man made global warming and more defect from the global warming camp every day. and you're right, WE DON'T know everything. that being the case how can a few suppose there's an emergency. most of his claims are proven lies, like antarctica who ice is actually growing not vanishing.

  • @rugger8541

Antarctica is loosing ice overall, only growing on one side from everything I have researched.

    Humanity has effected our climate.

Do you have any idea how many trees we have cut down on our planet?

Do you know the connection between trees and CO2?

We have many emergencies right now. Pollution is a big one, we can't continue to live the way we are for much longer. Our Ocean is in serious condition and we are over fishing in many areas.

  • @MLBinwa well research elsewhere. in SOME parts of East Antarctica ice levels have lowered some. but in west Antarctica it has gained ice. and trees? yes. they get cut down. its how we get wood. miraculous thing is they grow back. the U.S. has more trees today than 200 years ago. Polution is different than the global warming lie, don't confuse them. Overfishing? Global warming isn't connected to that either. People eat fish. you want to try to tell them all to stop?

    ...

Compared to prehistoric times, the level of oxygen in the earth's atmosphere has declined by over a third and in polluted cities the decline may be more than 50%. This change in the makeup of the air we breathe has potentially serious implications for our health. Indeed, it could ultimately threaten the survival of human life on earth, according to Roddy Newman, who is drafting a new book, The Oxygen Crisis....

  • ...Around 10,000 years ago, the planet's forest cover was at least twice what it is today, which means that forests are now emitting only half the amount of oxygen.

Desertification and deforestation are rapidly accelerating this long-term loss of oxygen sources.

The story at sea is much the same. Nasa reports that in the north Pacific ocean oxygen-producing phytoplankton concentrations are 30% lower today, compared to the 1980s. This is a huge drop in just three decades...

  • ...Moreover, the UN environment programme confirmed in 2004 that there were nearly 150 "dead zones" in the world's oceans where discharged sewage and industrial waste, farm fertiliser run-off and other pollutants have reduced oxygen levels to such an extent that most or all sea creatures can no longer live there.

This oxygen starvation is reducing regional fish stocks and diminishing the food supplies of populations that are dependent on fishing. ...

  • @MLBinwa you sure do love the alarmist predictions. more rational scientists would let you know that it would take whole lot of Antiarctic melting to actually make a sea level rise. and even more scientist would tell you as you quote how many more and less things there "once" was is because the Earth is constantly changing or "evolving." so where is the baseline of what the Climate "should" be? you don't know. no one does.

  • @rugger8541

If you knew what I knew you would be an alarmist as well.

I don't know all the truth, don't have all the answers as to what we should do, but having studied our environment and the effects we are having on it for years, I know how serious it is, and how little time we have to Shift things at an exponential level.

Millions are making changes, and we have lots of great solutions. The more people like you wake up and join us, the better our chances of limiting our negative effects.

  • @MLBinwa you shouldn't confuse "studied" with "listening to rants of let wing nut jobs." as I explained, more reputable scientists worldwide are refuting the man made global warming lie, and growing. Even Britains leading statistician criticised the hockey stick global warming explanation.

  • @rugger8541

What makes you think I only listened to "left wing nut jobs?

I have studied some of the greatest minds on the planet for over 10 years. I listen to people on both sides as I want to know the truth.

I am convinced without a doubt that overall our planet is warming, our Ocean is in serious trouble because of the increase in CO2.

I don't have a problem with anyone who doesn't think GW was influenced by man, time will prove that.

People who deny GW have been wrong as well.

  • @MLBinwa clearly you haven't studied enough if you think that a "trace" gas is capable of altering the climate not that you can explain what "should" be the normal climate. most of the geniuses you quote have been exposed as frauds for altering figures to support their agenda of global warming. funniest part is the ocean itself releases more CO2 than humans do. about 30 times. volcanoes about 15 times. but WE need regulation.

  • @rugger8541

OK, rugger, if you can't spend a few minutes doing some research on CO2 levels of our Ocean, then this will be the last time I'll respond to you.

It'd be easy, just google: "ocean co2 levels" Spend a few minutes reading some and you will see how serious a challenge it is.

I'm not a fan or regulation especially if it's not enforced. If you knew more then you think you did, you'd know how big industry controls our governments in favor of profits over a healthy environment.

  • @MLBinwa ah yes, the "Corporations" that really control the world right? NUTJOB! how dare those evil businesses try to build and create things! why don't they all just turn their factories off so we can sit and listen to the clean CO2 free breeze! of course we'll all be flat broke and unemployed but hey at least well feel better about the fictitious global warming scam!

  • @rugger8541

Now your being silly. I'm not against corporations, but if they are killing people, affecting their health, or putting the survival of humanity at risk, don't you think we should do something?

What if you lived in a house with a well and I polluted the well and your family died or got really sick, is that OK with you?

You don't have a clue as to all the damage that has already happened. Just google superfund sites and learn a bit about what has happened.

  • @MLBinwa clean air and water acts already adress polution.

  • @rugger8541

OK, I can't spend anymore time with you if you really think that our air and water are ok because of those acts.

We both know you don't want to hear anything that doesn't match your current belief system, but I'll bet you will change many of your belief systems in the near future concerning our challenges.

  • @rugger8541

Who do you believe on the subject. What person, book, video ect..

I'd be interested to see who you trust on the subject of GW/Climate Change.

I know some scientists and organizations are funded by the Oil and Gas industry and they have increased their funding on confusing the issue.

  • @MLBinwa yes, some scientists How about the IPCC itself? according to a U.S. SENATE minority report over 700 world renown scientists DISSENT against the global warming hype to include CURRENT and FORMER members of the IPCC. the number that now publicly state Global Warming is B.S. outnumber the wackos that authored the first IPCC report in 2007 13 -1

  • @rugger8541

Yeah, you just proved you don't stay current or check out your facts. Do a search on U.S. Senate minority report and you will see your wrong.

  • @MLBinwa not to mention an independent council of experts cited 21 of the 40 Chapters of the IPCC report a "failure" using high school standards for publication. might have something to do with the over 5,000 sources cited that were never reviewed and majically they ended up being ful of B.S. like quotes from radical websites and just plain ole un-scientific opinion.

  • @MLBinwa and as for "who do I listen to" how about the Australian national science agency which DEBUNKED the myth just recently that Antarctica is melting. rather it is GAINING ice. or the Japanese Geospace symposium which disagrees with all the IPCC's claims. or Russia which disagrees with all the IPCC's claims, or the nation of India which disagrees with all the IPCC claims. Sorry bub, but the real scientists have spoken. you and Al Gore are in an increasingly shrinking group.

  • @rugger8541

Provide me with some names or websites and I'll look into what you just posted.

Your the one who is wrong, the majority of scientist who study climate agree we are warming, it's growing not shrinking.

I have heard some polls where the people think GW isn't happening growing, but that's in part due to the fact the industry has done it job to protect their profits and the fact the people don't have time to do their own research or choose not to.

  • @MLBinwa yes people are all dumb. only you few enlightened liberals know what's best. People see poor scientific methodology combined with left wing crazies love of socialism and they reject it. by doing that you accuse them of being stupid. and here to continue the issue you ask "like give me some websites and stuff." how about using simple methodology. man made global warming is a Law? theory? hypothesis?

  • @rugger8541

I'm a fiscal conservative who has read the constitution, our bill of rights and lots of history on our founding Fathers. I've also taken an oath to defend them against enemies foreign or domestic (why do you think they put domestic in the wording?)

I believe in a smaller efficient Federal government that only does what it has the authority to do. ect.....

I just happen to know who serious our environmental challenges are so I'm doing some things about it.

  • @MLBinwa its great what you "believe." and I am also a fiscal conservative who's read the constitution many times. but Scientists who's spent their careers studying weather and climate DISAGREE with the global warming scare do to the absolute lack of ANY facts. the PRO WORLD IS ENDING crowd has yet to show causation. only scant coorelation. far from enough to accept a loss of trillions of dollars and possibly hundreds of thousands of jobs.

  • @rugger8541

OK, so we agree on some important issues, and disagree on a few.

I know that big business has spent millions of dollars confusing the issue because they have trillions of dollars to loose.

I'm certain that we have impacted our environment and can't keep doing things the way we have.

None of us understand Nature fully, what our real impact was or what the future is going to bring. One big volcano release can actually cool are planet. That's why I focus more on pollution...

  • @rugger8541

    Continued...

For me, many of the activities that the majority of scientists say cause warming are proven to kill people, destroy eco systems and impact the health and livelihood of millions of people.

So, I say, let's get at the real cost of oil, gas and coal, then Solar energy would actually be cheaper and better.

    Have a great night.

    MLB

  • @MLBinwa big business spends millions to "confuse" the issue? big business like the eco business? you know Al Gore is a huge investor in "green" technologies. but I'm sure he lobbies out of the goodness of his heart. poluting the environment and the global warming scam are two tottally separate issues. no one disagrees that clean air and water are important. but science and the majority of the world disagrees that we Can and have altered the temperature. science disagrees as well.

  • @rugger8541

OK, maybe Al is going to make a few millions dollars, or lets say a billion. Our energy community was around a $5 trillion dollar business in 2006, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have cost over a trillion (not to mention all the lives, injuries damage to the environment ect.)

Al had some numbers wrong, but so have lots of scientists as well as those who think the planet isn't warming overall which has led to lots of crazy weather. Severe Climate Change is real.

  • @MLBinwa So what scientists do you believe? so far it seems you choose to believe the ones you wish to. the majority disagree with the Climate change bandwagon. in fact the IPCC (nobel prize winning) papers have been cut down as time goes by with poor methodology. and 99% of global warming arguments were made with facts from a British university that was discovered as "doctored." so why believe it?

  • @rugger8541

I agree there were some challenges with the IPCC reporting.

I disagree that the majority of scientists disagree with the Climate Change bandwagon.

I've studied lots of scientists and groups who report on GW/CC and have never found any report that says the majority of scientists disagree with the fact that it is happening.

I've posted lots of things on this video in the past.

When I have time, I'll post something for you.

  • @MLBinwa And there is is folks. the clarion call of the delusional conspiracist. The allusion to "secret knowledge that only I possess." Good bye sir. You are a fucking nutjob.

  • @captwasabi

I never said I had secret knowledge, I just pointed out that if rugger knew what I knew he would be one my side on this issue.

Anyone can get the knowledge I acquired but not many had the time, money or passion to do it. That's why I've been working on education people for years.

Most people who don't think GW/CC is real, having done their own study, they just trust the people they listen to, and don't follow the money or check the facts.

Have a great week. Peace b with u.

  • Pollution and man made global warming are connected.

If you study the Ocean you will see that the CO2 levels are rising dramatically which is leading to a more acidic pH balance, which is already effecting sea life on the bottom of the food chain which will affect a lot of species that rely on them for life.

For me, it's about sustainability, is our worldwide society sustainable the way we are living. The answer is NO, so we either change Now, or our future will get real ugly quickly.
