where do you plug your art preamp in? the inputs on the emu 0404 are also preamps, unless there is a balanced input somewhere. preamp into preamp usually isn't good

MIC > ART Tube MP Studio V3 > E-MU 0404 USB(balanced input) > pc

"0404 USB" has two balanced inputs. and also two Hi-Z inputs.

"ART Tube MP Studio V3 " is useful for a limiter,Equalizer.
