Hi.

I have just bought a 16gb iPod Touch which I am trying to use on Windows XP.

When I connect the iPod to my PC it brings up the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' but does not open up iTunes.

On the Hardware Wizard it trys to search for the driver but cannot locate it, whenever it tries to search it comes back saying "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot locate the necessary software".

k i found out how to fix my own problem. So wat i did was actually good. But what u have to do is once it comes back on you have to put the usb in to a diffrent jack. Once you put it in a diffrent one it works fine

k i tried jailbreaking my ipod touch 2.2.1 but i decided not to do it. So i took it out of dfu mode by holding the home and power button for 10sec then release the power only and keep pushing on the home for 8sec. Then i unpluged it from the comp. and i held the home and power again for 10sec. Then i release the power and the logo comes up. Everything is fine all photos, music, apps everything is there. But itunes doesnt see my ipod at all when i pluged it back in, so it doesnt charge. HELP PLZ!

to get it out of dfu mode u plug it in to ur computer and hold the home and power buttons down together for 10 seconds and then let go of the power button and hold down the home button still for 8 more seconds and then nothing will happen so then unplug it from the computer and hold the home and power button again for 10 seconds then after let go of the power button and still hold on to the home button until the apple logo comes on and its fixed
