Apparently bucket loads of cocaine were used to make this film and our mr spock is far superior to leonard nimoy in the trouser snake department. The actors were told to watch star wars to get ready for thier roles but a mix up meant that they ended up watching some dutch porn movie so the expressions of being lost in a wierd place is half down to cocaine and half down to trying to look like a dutch stud.

This is actually very impressive when you think about the whealth (I mean .. there was none) of the country around the time when this movie was made.

No money to invest in technology, no active relations with Europe or the U.S.

No investment in technology and people couldn't afford to study.

But... News about hollywood did reach the people and ofcourse people were curious. I think it was great to let those people who don't speak English watch these American movies in their own language.

@TryOG Yea I see it the same way. The intention was not to copy it, but take the concept and to adapt it to turkish culture and television. Seeing it from this point of view, this is not a cheap copy but a funny series with a bit more self-mockery than the original.

I dont understand turkish. But I was just watching the DVD of Star Trek 2009. When I switched the localisation from german ;) to turkish, I noticed that their localisa was really good. I wonder if there is a fanbase in turkey.

the movie is indeed a trash movie, until tourist omer(main protoganist) gets involved in the course of the story.. he mocks everything on its path throughout the story with a humor unique to him. his impersonation of tourist omer is one of the most significant characters in turkish movie history.

wow! the bridge set is actually very nice done... and the Turku-Spocku does a great impression of Nimoy's eyebrow!! and if you look very closely, you can se Uhura's ass just as she leaves, they made her skirt just a little too short! :)))
