Ian and Billy used to change their rhythm section every tour/album. I think that was a massive mistake. But here you've got a a band that has stayed the same for over 5 years. This is a strong line up.
Wicked, wicked good, awesome cool, oh yeah baby! Astbury's voice is unbelievably raunchy and nasty and Duffy's guitar is beyond superb, even for a simpler tune like this one.
Awesome Band...first saw them in 1983 as deathcult...saw them at Sonisphere 2010...going to see them at rock city in 2 weeks time...Embers is best New track they have done...!!!
What a performance! They are sounding fantastic, and the song...well what can you say. I'm so glad that this is the band I love! Please don't stop making music!
What a performance! They are sounding fantastic, and the song...well what can you say. I'm so glad that this is the band I love! Please do stop making music!
I've been a fan since back in the day when they had a three name band... (Southern Death Cult)... Astbury and Duffy sound better than ever... Glad to see that Ian forgot that he thought he was Jim Morrison... Not that there's anything wrong with Jim, just Ian has his own trademark voice... Over the years, their music has changed, transcended, modernized, yet stayed the same... Kind of like Zeppelin, the music gets better with time.. Glad to see these guys are still rocking after all these years.
Hells yeah. Spirit still going strong. Peace to teambricktucky1 and demontaurses. Ian and Billy still rock live and continue to fuel souls everywhere.
Hells yeah. Spirit still going strong. Peace to teambricktucky1 and demontaurses. Ian and Billy still put it down hardcore live and continue to fuel souls everywhere.
Not much to say....this song and The Cult pretty much say it all!! Chris Wyse is a bad ass bassist and Billy just rocks as always. After 20+ years....Ian's voice is still amazing. Probably the best line up Ian and Billy have ever played with. Keep it up boys!! We love it!!
The Music of The Cult has been with me for so many years, all the time, through ups and downs, happiness and despair, and I still get amazed to tears when I hear them...
Fantastic, the original spirit, amazing voice and awesome lead guitar remain alongside a new , original and mature sounding band. Long live The Cult. Miss Jamie- Ian/Billy/Jamie lineup would be the icing for me.
The CULT is the best. Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy cornerstone the best band of the past 20 years. Thanks so much for never stopping - and continuing to put out new awesome music. You guys transcend the whole band thing, and raise rock music to a new bar. Thanks, for life.
These guys are awesome, Billy Duffy is my favorite guitar player hands down (love his tone). Ever since the Love album surfaced in the mid 80's this has been my #1 band. CFFC! Billy, let's see some new material using the Gretsch White Falcon!
Best thing I've heard out of these guys for years, but always one of my all time favourite bands. Haven't got the recorded version because the iTunes clip wasn't that inspiring. Going to have to get it now and can't wait for the apollo in Jan!
I watched these guys last night in Detroit. It was unbelievable how awesome they are. This video must be old because the lead singer had a huge full beard. I see GC deleted my previous post because this song doesn't do them justice. Its much better in person.
I have been a dedicated follower since the early 80's when they were known then as "The Southern Death Cult", and this band is by far over-looked and under-rated. They continue to grow and try a new sound all while keeping their own style and essence. The words to their songs make you think, they encapsulate somethings so right that they become very personal and mean something to you. Almost 30 years since they entered the scene and they don't age, yet their spirit is timeless in itself.
Kiss my ass all you Cult haters, these guys still Rock and that more then I can say for most bands these days. These guy are true to them selfs and still haven't sold out, like linkin park did with their last album. The Cult rule and i will always be apart of their wolfpack.
Just saw The Cult in Raleigh & they sounded awesome, just as they do on this video. I really don't get the comments that they should stick to their old stuff because they do. The fact that they keep the new coming is what makes them stand the test of time. I think they sound as contemporary today as any current band, old&new stuff included. Fantastic. Not as good as other versions I've heard but still great, and Ian shaved?! If he untied his hair he'd look just like he used to. I don't have DIRECTV, is there any other way I can see this?
