I'm in Ireland too, and bought fresh at launch so it's over half a yr old. I noticed if I do a face time between idevices and tap the speaker area on iPad that there is some signs of life. Thankfully I dont really miss the lack of the feature and with other idevices it's np using another should I need a mic.
Ill likely do nothing about it, it'll go when I change up to 3/4 ^^
My mic stopped working completely! Not sure when. It's about 6 months old, I know it did work when I got it, used it for face time and some apps, didn't really use the mic for a couple of months and recently I noticed it just stopped working :s FaceTime, rec video, etc, no recordable sound! :/

Hey @swirlser09 sorry for the delay in replying to your post. If your based in the US and your iPad is under 6 months old I'd advise you pop in to an Apple store for them to have a look. Be sure you back up to iTunes before you do just incase they swap out your device in store. If like me you live in a country where theres no Apple store (I live in Ireland) then your going to have to contact your local support number. I blogged my experience here:
