Yeah, Michael English was not the original version. Mark Lowry wrote it and sang it first....

My favorite version of this is Mark's on the Reunion video January 2009. This is also a beautiful version, but made all the better because it is done by artists that put words and music together. I think it is really enlightening to me to think about Mary's story, knowing that she was carrying God's child, but what human could ever fully understand what it really meant, or what he would do for all of us! The melody is gentle and almost mournful (a mothers perspective?), but the lyrics are stronger speaking of the triumph over the grave. So it's a great combination!
