  • wwat kinda stick u use?

  • Buy this or.... use a pillow?

Ladies and gentlemen the winner of the most pointless invention of the year is!

  • I have a moon gel pad, and it sucks. Build chops on a normal pad it's a lot better, more realistic and you won't get pad hands. And btw not to rag on you or anything but your right is heavier than your left in you double strokes

  • I like :P

  • Holy chops batman!!!

  • They call this "library quite"? I'm pretty sure if you did that in a library, you would have some pissed off people.

  • @helicrashpro The mic on the camera actually pick it up louder than you would hear it in a library. It is actually quiet.

  • now try to do buzzes

  • :10 ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha lol

  • Buddy rich sticks?

  • Can you actually do it ona pillow though?

  • So you just wanted to show off?

  • Have fun with tendonitis when you've been practicing pulling your sticks back up for a few years.

  • @ghfgho Actually I think tendonitis has to do with technique. I know some drummers who have had pain who are the ones who play into the snare for backbeat on 2 and4 and leave the sticks planted in the drum to have the shock shoot up into their hand, wrist and arm. I have been playing drums for 49 yrs. and have no tendonitis. The gel pad is used only for a few minutes daily maybe to build your chops, and to understand proper technique is not loose bouncing and buzzing all the time.

  • @ghfgho actually tendonitis is more from bad technique and not using the fingers

  • There is something about how a good practice pad sounds that makes them fun to play on and listen to!

  • @ThomasMetal75 I think tendonitis has to do with correct technique. When i occasionally work out on this pad, i don't play through the pad, I play on top of it using good technique. I find that drummers who play into the drum for snare back beats and don't rebound, are the ones who end up with wrist problems. I will be 61 yrs old this year and I have never had tendonitis!

  • @dtdrummerlady When did I ever mention you had bad technique or was referring to tendonitis? All I said was drum pads are fun to play and listen to.

  • @ThomasMetal75 Oops, sorry!!! HAHA I was actually repsonding to the comment below yours, and somehow accidentally was posted to you! But yes, having several different kinds of practice pads makes practicing more fun I think. They all have a little different feel and sound.

  • what do you look like?!?!?!?!??!?

  • @ServesYaRight Look at the videos of me playing in band and you'll see me. HAHA

  • @allmetaliswelcome yeah, but its just a regular bass practice pad. its by vic firth, the Heavy Hitter Basspad. google it!

  • thumps up for Modern Drummer mag in the back!

  • @logansdrums HAHA That's funny...... I never noticed that before!

  • So, I fall upon this video and there is a video of Butt Exercises in the related videos section...

  • @drmmrboy88 That's hilarious. I guess because it was tagged as a workout!!!

  • Try practicing on a really really soft pillow! It work really well!!

  • @JohnnyAppleTv u could do wutever u want

  • awesome!

  • FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkkeeeee... your a women and you are out of the kitchen... FFFFFFFFFFaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkeeeeee!!!!!!!!

  • that is really hard to do trust me i've tried it

  • you neee too tighten your fulcrum

  • on your traditional hand, rest the stick on yourring finger just above the nail on the cuticle..if you get used to resting it on the finger itself it can affect your technique, and it gives you blisters..

  • @drummerdudeguybeast

    Nice one bro!

  • are these also available as bassdrum practise pads? that would be awesome

  • @allmetaliswelcome No, not that i have seen, but there ARE bass drum practice pads. They may be a Vic Firth product. Not for sure about that though.

  • @dtdrummerlady yes, i know about these, but it would be awesome to do foot workouts with these things

  • @dtdrummerlady yes they are available as bass drum pads, search Vic Firth Heavy Hitter Pads and the first video will show four types of pads, including a bass one

  • haha yeah its called a pillow!

  • ParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddleParadiddle

  • @PsychoScarecrow paradiddle? these are just diddles

  • REAL GHOST NO JOKE @ 0:43

  • @koekie1337 thats a dog...

  • I have a moon gel pad too, it's called my thigh.

  • @Emdai7813 Yeah......if you like bruises! HA HA

  • @dtdrummerlady haha, i don't think you can call yourself a rudimental drummer if you've never gotten bruises on your thighs or knees

  • @dtdrummerlady

Haha, good point. But I do have a pillow ;).

  • @Emdai7813 hahaha I use my thighs all the time while I'm at school and it's slowly killed all the nerve endings around my knee. It's like what shaolin monks do null pain hahahaha

  • UR BEAST MAN!

  • Wow

  • @antifreindly HA HA , NO!!

  • typical drummer..... getting faster and faster... :/

  • your a dog.

  • @LEWISMCCARTHY1 woof woof lol

  • For a while I warmed up pretty much exclusively on one of these (besides on my kit obviously) and I found that transitioning from the moon gel pad to the kit could be a little problematic only because my hands got used to no bounce and going to a kit with bounce threw me off. I find that mixing up workouts, much like for muscles in general is very useful. For instance, practicing on one of these followed by a conventional drum pad with more bounce.

  • Beast dude, im not sure what that means but im saying it.

  • I can't believe people raggin on her! Here, she could play 80% of us under the table any day of the week and twice on Sunday, and armchair drummers still critiquing! Be nice to the sweet lady! She knows how to work a drum stick! sheesh!

  • @69adrummer Thank you for being nice!! I have been playing drums for a LONG time! :)

  • YOU ARE WHAT WE CALL "AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • You must have uber and great chops then.. your speed of the double stroke was all stroking rigt? No letting it bounce?

  • @creekielappy Yes, no bouncing, just stroking! Can't bounce on that pad if you tried anyway! HA

  • You should work on dynamics. Try to hit just as hard all the way instead of doing a diminuendo.

  • @jerka992 The work out pad is for working out, not so much dynamics. You can practice dynamics on a real pad or kit!!

  • @dtdrummerlady Certainly. However, speeding a drum (or pad) is about the speed. It should be like a straight line when it comes to volume, that is part of the drill. Of course you make the drill yourself, there's no such thing as wright or wrong drill, but when I think of speeding a drum I think of it as one stroke getting faster but not changing in volume.

  • hahahahaha this video is great.

  • could you post more backsticking tutorials? That would be amazing

  • O_O i will never be able to do that :'(

  • this if funny....taptaptaptaptap.......thump.....squishsquish...that form looks perfect...nice wrists

  • That isn't really that hard

  • @wy2kool4u it is hard for me I am triying to do that for days

  • @wy2kool4u it is hard for me I am trying to do that for days

  • nice

  • Not as much bounce on that pad as the one it sits on but more than enough to still get a great sounding double not hard at all. But nice doubles.

  • @ediot6969 Hmmmmmmm, have you ever played on a moon gel pad? It has 0% bounce! HA Try one of them out and you will see what I mean.

  • @dtdrummerlady actualy it has a bounce but not very big, moon gel pattern is for strenght exercises, not for playing!!The real one should look blue and jiggle :D

  • @dtdrummerlady yeah bro i have but i did practice on a pllow for a very long time like first five years of playing didnt have a kit only played the kit at church services. i have 2 gels im just saying not hard for me and i did like ur doubles so dont snap at me.jk

  • @dtdrummerlady i used to practice on pillows...i think you get the same results :)

  • @ediot6969 its made for muscle training

  • A stack of magazines also works well.

  • YOURE A BEAST

  • @LiftedxResearch Thanks a lot

  • acctually guys, the best way to strengthen up ur doubles and singles is by using a bed or a pillow. personally i feel dat is the best way. it may be tough at first bt with practice ur gona get better:)

  • That's pretty cool.

  • when u doing double with right hand u have to let go fingers

  • @drumsatan666

You cannot do that on something which barely has a re- bounce.

  • @drumsatan666 no you dont.

  • amazing brother!! 10+

  • It's actually a chick.. hah

  • Comment removed

  • I do use my fingers quite often. I am very aware of how sloppy it sounds and how unprofessional it must appear. But, my wrists seem to be completely numb to the concept of absorbing the rebound.

  • haha sexy ass double-bouncing dude. nice and clean. :)

  • haha i cracked up at 0:10 but still nnice

  • HaHA, I thought it was funny too!

  • Plzzzzzz b my nannan, u kick asss

  • okay! LOL

  • haha

    bouncebouncebouncebouncebouncebounce

    THUMP

  • @strikeme5 thud

  • lol.

right what am i going to play

hold up let me poke it first...

  • nice wrists! Buddy Rich once said there's no such thing as finger control - the wrists make the sticks go faster. It just takes longer to get there, so people get discouraged.

  • I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing that bit of info.

  • @ksjdhg did he really say that? i wouldnt have thought such a good drummer to discount any playing style that works.

  • man hands

  • buddy rich sticks?

  • nice ..i do it all the timeeee

  • last time I checked, drums are bouncy:)

  • forcing doubles or any diddle will get you a nasty sound. if u dont have chops then thts exactly wut you do

  • yo just practice on a pillow.

    its allot harder.

  • that as fast as i can go on my snare drum

  • First I've heard of this. Originally, I had planned on getting a HQ Reel Feel pad. Then I heard Mike Johnston talking about the Aquarian Tru-Bounce Pad. But he's endorsing the company and probably gets paid to say good things about it. Now I hear about this Moon Gel Pad. Interesting. This looks pretty good. Not sure what to get yet. For now, I'll continue using floor tom for rudiment/roll exercises.

  • Wow, that was scary.

(Translation: OMGWTF HOW DID SHE STROKE THAT FAST)

  • Comment removed

  • and wut do u think she was useing the bounce from the moon-gel pad? there is no bounce from a gel pad.. so wtf do u think she was useing

  • i like to practise on a poweraid top that will get u cold and a basketball

  • buddy rich sticks?

  • i should get one of those! nice but use more chops not arms because the whole point is to increse chop strength

  • hes playing with his arms because hes using an un-bouncry pad purposely.. and that speed is considerable under those conditions

  • *cough*she*cough*

  • lol what?

  • Hes using to much arm

  • - but all wrists?

  • Exept for accents

  • me too! except the black part is baby blue

  • dude i have that couch!

  • That's what I was saying. The comment I replied to said paradiddles were RLRRLL, which is adding an extra 'diddle', which would make them 'paradiddlediddles'.

  • I got an HQ real feel lol

  • what is the brand name of the moon gel pad??? i just bought an aquarian pad and i want to buy a moon gel to put on top and practice. plzz reply.

  • RainMan, you're referring to the Aquarian Tru-Bounce pad, right? Why would you need this if you have that? I'd think they both have the same feel.

  • I need to get me one of those... this practice pad isnt exactly getting the 100% of practice i could be really getting with one of those :D

  • i can tell that pad doesnt have very good rebound.

  • LOL! It isn't supposed to have ANY! That's what makes it a work-out pad.

  • ok cool guy... mite wanna work out that second note in those diddles a little more then...

  • nothing beats that HQ real feel in my opinion, it works great for my drumline

  • i have a remo and it helps your doubles alot

  • i have that vic firth slim pad. love it.

  • no...

    Paradiddles are:

    RlrrLrllRlrrLrll

    LrllRlrrLrllRlrr

  • i was about to correct him... thanks.

  • That's paradiddlediddles, buddy

  • how much was the pad

  • its like 15$

  • wow, good job!

  • if you can do fast rolls on a dead surface i can't imagine how you are fast on a snare drum :O (sorry for the english but i'm italian"

  • what corps did you march??

  • Blue Notes

  • if your gonna spend all that money on a moon gel you should just buy a small pillow and use the rest to buy some bud

  • wow, I'm cool because I smoke pot. You're classic. Why not spend it on something useful in life, you could get a good pair of sticks, or a cheap metronome!

  • A pillow isn't as convenient and wouldn't feel the same. And 'bud' is just a waste of time, money, and lives.

  • WOAH !!!

  • Hopefully someone who is inquiring about a moon gel pad, and if you can really play a roll on a dead surface? LOL

  • You obviously did...

  • nice doubles man

  • thats a kady hence the name dtdrummerladie

  • u take to long to speed up,other than that pretty good.

  • ....ugh.

  • Whooa those are some doubles if i ever saw them

  • Piano*

  • If i wanted to do this, Should I do full strokes or pino ish?

  • I think you get a better work out with full strokes. It will make your doubles clean.

  • howd you get your doubles so clean?

    just practicing faster and faster?

    thanks.

  • Start slow and gradually build the tempo as much as you can. Daily practicing on this type pad, or a pillow should increase skill and speed levels. The more you practice, the better!!!!! I use to practice 10-12 hours a day when i played in Corps.

  • whoa..that is alot,are u for serious?!!lol

  • Serious! Anyone who has marched Corps, knows that 10-12 hrs. a day is just routine in the summer especially.

  • wow thats crazy but awesome..the most ive practiced on my own is 3 hours straight, now i just seperate that time into hour increments...what drum corp did u play for?

  • wow finally some1 that does doubles properly nice one man preeeeeety damn swift too :)

  • lol are those the buddy rich signature sticks? if they are how are they?

  • i think they are
