Belgium's low score for this song was really a shame. This was Top 3-material for sure. Unfortunately this was also the beginning of the era in which the Eastern European countries began favourizing each other; in such a way that excellent entries from other countries were denied a fair chance.

Dit is één van België's beste inzendingen ooit. Dit fantastisch nummer is mooi opgebouwd en een echt eurovisiesong-nummer. Het geheel is ongelooflijk mooi, Vanessa ziet er prachtig uit en zingt bovendien ook nog eens fantastisch. Haar backing-vocals, de kledij, de choreografie... alles was en klonk super.

Dit nummer had van mij echt mogen winnen. Helaas komt er de laatste jaren veel meer bij kijken dan de objectieve kwaliteit van een eurosong-nummer...

That maybe true now, but back in 1999 there were only a few Eastern European countries participating and block voting was not widely spread like today. This song was just underrated and the second position in the show did not favor it
