  • Saw this video yesterday. Loved it! Ran to the craft store and bought all the supplies. Its so easy and comes out SO beautiful! I am almost finished. Took more Tulle than I thought it would. About 125 pieces for a 23" waistline (for my 4 year old daughter).

  • OMG this was so easy and beautiful. I am looking forward to trying this out.

  • There are most def some tulle that is softer than others, I just try to buy the softest I can find, not necessarily bridal. Hope this helps!

  • @wowzzydotcom I made a tutu from your tutorial and it turned out perfectly! I actually found rolls of tulle from a craft's store that were already about 3 inches in width, so all I had to do was measure out a strip and cut it! Saved a BUNCH of time! Thanks for everything!

  • Great tute. thanks. Do you use the finer bridal tulle, Im just thinking the stiffer tulle might be a bit scratchy?

  • hi i was just wondering how much it would cost to make a black and yellow one and send it to illinois its for a 14 yr old. but i want it shorter.

  • Hi- I was just curious if I used the roll of tule how long of a piece should I cut (it's 6" by 25 yards). Thanks!

  • So how long is the ribbon? 20 inches on either side and 20 inches in the middle...Is that 60 inches in all? I wanted to make a princess gown and wanted to modify the tutu into longer piece. Because I am only using one strip and not folding in half to tie will it still be poofy? I just don't wanna start cutting and tieing without some sort of visual....Im not a seamstress or do anything crafty like this. This is my first attempt, so I apologize if these questions seem really dumb

  • What you are doing about the thread. After cuting the fabric many thread come out,

it look not good. What you are doing about this problem?

  • @Sagehearts You need to use Tulle (It is a net type fabric), and then it won't fray.

  • I just made one and it turned out awesome! Its black and neon green!

  • @Metalmonkey22 That sounds so cute!

  • hi its me again just wondering if you ever figured out how to make the tutu with the decorations inside??

  • Is there a way to make a no sew that is tiered with alternatic colors like the stripes on a buumblebee?

  • Thanks to your instructions, what started as last minute Halloween costume idea for someone who didn't consider herself crafty AT ALL has sprouted a part time home business. I wasn't sure how much tulle i needed ended for my 1st costume idea & I ended up using about 10 yards, lol. Needless to say, she was the fluffiest ladybug on Halloween night. Thanks so much! Do you have a web address where I can send you a pic of my 1st ever creation?

  • So how do you finish the tutu? Do you just tie the ribbon into a bow?

  • @melissah85225 yes, just tie a bow.

  • thanks!

  • @jessicaorourke1 you are very welcome!!

  • can you show how to make a tutu with decorations inside of them ..like flowers and pompom balls? ive seen them and i know how to make a regular no sew tutu but i cant figure out how to make the kind with stuff inside of them!

  • @jessicaorourke1 Hi there, let me do some experimenting and I will post something in a few weeks. I have never made one before, but I have an idea on what to do!

  • Have fun making your tutu!

  • thats awesome so simple! i like it. I'll have to buy some Tulle today!! lol XD

  • do you wash them? if so how?

  • @hils39 I did some research and found a few ways that were suggested. 1) wash in cold water with a little mild detergent in the bathtub, without crunching up the tulle, lay flat between two towels to gett excess water out, and then hang to dry. 2) Wash on gentle cycle in a lingerie garment bag and hang to dry. You can iron the tuule if necessary on a low to med setting ( to hot and the tulle may melt) Hope this helps!

  • This is great. Thank you. I want to make a tutu now.

  • I can't believe it 503,905 views, a half of a million people have made tutus!!!

  • @twilightgirl560 Yay, you are welcome!

  • is it 4yards of tulle of each color?

  • @babycaks1 One yard of each

  • thank you so much for this. i made an adult version last night and it was beautiful. and under $12.

  • @ronnesem $12.00 for an adult tutu is awesome! you are welcome and have fun!

  • Cute! I need a tutu for an outfit I'm working on...But is there anyway to make it poofier? Like by putting 2-4 pieces on together?

  • @ArielDarkBlade69 Yes, you can put more pieces together and pushing the knots together really close to make it poofier.

  • @wowzzydotcom Thanks... I'm definitely going to have to try this then :)

  • This was a really great tutorial. Nicely done. I made my daughter's tutu yesturday and it is gorgeous! With the left-over end pieces I made a matching tutu for her dolly. Thank you so much.

  • @flanagan4ever Thank you, I a, so glad your tutu came out gorgeous, and the matching tutu for the doll is adorable I bet your daughter is so happy!

  • I just made one for my baby who is 6 months, it looks great I was able to buy the supplies for less than $5 and it looks great. I couldn't find one to buy for the price I wanted to pay they are expensive for just a tutu. I'm so excited for her to wear it this was just what I needed.

  • @estmart1 I am so happy that your tutu came out perfect, and that you saved a lot of money. Now you can make them for her as she grows and starts dancing around the house!

  • well I am glad she said it was for a little girl I might have made one for my boy, lol j/k.

  • Would this be at hobbie lobby(tolle)

  • @BriannaStewart2010 Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's fabrics and crafts.

  • Thanks so much for the video. I made a tutu for my Halloween costume. Koolio :) Thanks for the great tips.

  • i absolutely LOVE this video ! all the other videos are so complicated ! >.< today i bought the tulle & im in the process of making the Tutu right now. :) but i dont think i bought enough tulle . :O

  • Im a size 3 in jouniors about how much would you need for a 2 colored tutu? like how long do the strands that you tie around the waist ribbon need to be?

  • can anyone explain how to make a MULTI LAYER tutu??

  • @gagacorpse89 I have never made one, but I suppose you can make the first layer, and then go back and do a second layer between the knots of the first layer. hope this helps-Julie

  • if i wanted a three color tutu, and i am a size two how many yards of tulle would i need? would it be 4 yards in each color?

  • @DANCiN4L0VE probably 2-3 of each depending on the length you want.

  • Can you tell me if i wanted to make an XL (about a size 16) how much Id need of each?

  • @schtickl You will need around 12-15 yards

  • I am thinking about making a tutu for Halloween.,! ii Was going to buy one for 12 dollars but do you think buying ribbon tulle and a ruler would be cheaper.? And i want mine to be really puffy and like two colors. ii wear a 14 girls so i d k how much tulle ii would need. Please Respond.

  • @kiia2010 If you can find the tulle on sale for around a dollar per yard you could probably make a really puffy tutu with two colors. you will probably need 10-12 yards.

  • Thank you so much for posting this, my 3 year old decided that she wants to be a cat for Halloween at the last minute, and now we NEED a cat costume! This is purrrrrrfect!

  • @amyrocha Awesome, have fun making her Tutu!!

  • You seriously can't mess this up! It's foolproof. I made one...I'm a size 7-8/30 inch waist in juniors and believe me, 3 yards of tulle was enough for me :) Love it. Thank you

  • @LeoParDLiNDSEY did you use the longer tulle or make it shorter like hers? Because I'm the same size as you and I also got 3 yards. I was just wondering how you made it work :)

  • @theeitalianbum basically, i just followed this video, and it worked great :) I also marked the ribbon evenly where it should end the tulle and that helped a lot.. you don't want a gap in the back!

and mine turned out pretty dang poofy. I'm surprised how far 3 yards went in making this

  • lol im going to make one for myself for halloween im 24 yo girl dont let my name fool you im a girl lol

  • thank you! Can't wait to make one!

  • i want to make a tutu for my halloween costume.. but im not 2 years old lol im 5'8'' and i wear a size 2 pants.. any suggestion on how to make it since im bigger? also, i want to put cheetah print material in it too, would that still work as well? please get back to me n thankyouu(:

  • @posiiefool You will probably need about 10 to 12 yards of tulle and you can use fabric but it would be better if you could find some cheetah print ribbon, then it wouldn't fray. For an adult just don't make that 2nd cut leave it in one piece, you may have to trim to the length you want. Hope this makes sense! have fun-Julie

  • Thank you for sharing. My daughter (7 years old) and I are really excited to make a tutu for my 5 months old daughter tomorrow.

    Doan from Arizona

  • So cute! I"m going to make one for my niece. She can cheer for her daddy's college football team and look so cute! Very clever!

  • thanks for this! need tutus for my daughters 4th bday party... and do not wanna go buy a bunch of them when i can make as many as i need for cheaper! and this is so EASY that even I cant mess it up!!

  • @aefine123103 You are welcome, have fun and you will save sooo much money. Check out my channel for my video on making tutu pencils for party favors!

  • I didn't get how she did the knot... o_O

  • I'm going to make a princess dress for my daughters for halloween and want to make these longer. I know you said something about making it longer, but I didn't quite get that. Do I need to just buy twice as much tulle?

  • @nicolechunter If you don't cut the strips inn half it will be longer and yes, you will need twice as much tulle. Hope this helps and have fun!

  • @TheVane5ssaVille That's too funny!

  • I'm totally making this for a bed skirt for my daughter=) thank you so much for the simple instructions!
