I love this sound, freaking sounds mean as hell. I have the same car, pretty much stock. I have been looking into all the toys, supercharger, Cam, Borla Etc.. This is the sound I want out of the exhaust. Once again Thanks for posting the vid so I can get a clue for the sound I'm looking for...

im new to mustangs, i recently purchased a 2008 GT Phantom. I want to add the thumper cam for power and sound of course but have no idea what the costs are. If i purchase the cam, where can i get it installed and what would it cost? Is there anything "special" that needs to be done? I will also add a cold air intake later, just doing small additions here and there.

@bodebldr2000 if you buy cams an have em installed an tuned for it can run around 2k,,,,,do it your self save a shi ton but for these you need phase limiters wich is an extra 200.....i have a set an just spintech axlebacks but the looks i get i sooo worth it

I am planning to get the same cams installed in your engine. Can you please tell me what is the hp output and what is the tuning on your car. Also, I wanna know how much it costed you to get the cams.

I just got the cams in yesterday. I love that deep rumble....LOL Headed down to have it performance tuned on Monday. They use Diablo.

I have FRPP Hot Rod Cams, CAI, 62MM Throtle Body, Long Tube Headers, BBK UDP, Steeda Charge Motion Delete Plates, MSD Ingnition Coils. FRPP racing exhaust cats back with X-PIPE.

I am real interested to see what number she puts up on Dyno.........

I don't get it lol. I have the same exact car pretty much same exact upgrades minus the throttle body, which I know doesn't add that much horsepower, and minus the cams, having ford racing hot rod cams put in in less than a month, and I'm only makin 292 to the wheels right now. Do you have a 93 octane tune? Will I really gain 50hp to the wheels just with the cams and 93 octane?

Iv heard heard Thumper Cams will fuck up your valves because the cams drop the vavles so hard.

These cams give about 25 to 30. But you should also have headers and a CAI. On a otherwise stock engine you won't see much from any cam. Gotta let it breathe! :)

it depends, some cams have a high lift than others. i would say that a mild crower cam or competition cam would probably give you about 40 horsepower when combined with headers and high flow catalysts.

Did your tuner have any problems with the BBK TB and these cams? I have the EXACT setup, but can't get the car to idle with the BBK TB. What timing is your tune set to?

LT headers or any headers are a pain to install takes alot of manuevering mine were done on a lift and still a pain. The TB is ok I suggest it if you plan on going Forced Induction which will be my next route other than that no.

Yes I think so. Throttle body is different for this engine its also a 3 valve. Like I previously stated The throttle body isnt worth the money.

Put washers to raise the front of the cover. About 8hp peak with the BBK throttle body personally I wouldnt spend the money if you havent. The cams produce 220 ftlbs at 2,000 rpm and 300ftlbs at 3,000. The thumper were said not to produce alot of power but that has changed atleast 25hp gains is what there saying now I suppose its the engine. I put the full borla system XR-1 LT headers, Hpipe and aggressive axle back which I think has alot to do with the gains.

I absolutely love your car! Awesome mods, great numbers and one of the best sounding muscle cars I've ever heard! You know what's crazy? As much RWHP as you gained, it's still about 35-40 RWHP less than a bone stock right out of the showroom 2011+ mustang 5.0... My friends '11 GT dyno'd 382 to the wheels bone stock when it had only 700 miles on it. I couldn't believe it! It just goes to show you how far the mustang has come :) I can't wait to see how much he gains with mods ;)
