  • °•.¸☆ What a show!!

  • The rich and refined Hylton style I love!

  • Both Hylton and Whiteman could afford the luxury of hiring the best musicians they could get. They also gave them the freedom to improvise.

  • Oh! Beautiful images of a bygone era.

  • The eyes have it in this charming vid of old favorite. Am I blue? Only when I go out in the suddenly freezing weather.

  • @barbcard In an old Polish novel by Henryk Sienkiewicz (also the author of ":Quo Vadis") young heroine Nel, has a saying when she happens to cry: - Oh no, I'm not crying! Only my eyes are sweating.

  • Excelent rythm, my favorite Anette Hanshaw performs it more slow, thank you

  • @Gadomska Witam, ja też przepadam za Hanshaw. Ale już chyba wszystkie jej nagrania zamieszczono w You Tube - przynnajmniej ja nie mam nic takiego, czego już by tu nie było. Pozdrawiam serdecznie!

  • so beautfiul.

  • Nice good rhythm

  • Never heard a version I didn't like!

  • @VictrolaJazz You are right., I'ts one of these tunes which always sound great: even when someone plays it with one finger on piano.

  • A very Whiteman-like arrangement. Both had huge bands, but were able to let them swing like a small combo.

  • @syncopeter Very interesting. Indeed, what you are refering to is probably a question of bandleader's attitude to his musicians. Whether he lets them - or not - be sometimes not only modes in the machine but also individuals, artists. It's also how sometimes played the finest swing bands of the late 1930s, e.g. Ziggy Elman's or Benny Goodman's

  • Hello Grzegorz - this is super fantastic - I am absolutely wild about frames 1:13 and 1:14 - they look like an excerpt from a film. Super dynamite effect!!! Have a great evening and thanks a million as always!!!

  • @tango3721 I have to disappoint you, Lana - that "photo" IS a fragment of a film. My skills are still too weak for making such moving sequence of photos all by myself.

  • Hi! Fantastic. Trombone solo very nice. I have 3 take with Tommy Dorsey, nobody can be better than Tommy, but Jack Hyltons take is very good. Bixbix81

  • @BixBix81 If you don't know Alfredo's version go ahead and see it, it's also very good. I just added a link to it here, in my info.
