@duncanbishop If you carbonate anything other than water, the machine will A: Spray sugary juice/water all over the place, or B: Get sticky juice in the mechanized parts and stop working. I work for a kitchen store and have seen many returned machines with sticky machines that wont open any more.
Something about liquid with sugar in it expanding more, some girl I know tried to do it with tea and made a huge mess.
You have to do straight water, then you can add your juice or whatever you want.
@Landotter1 You can carbonate whatever you'd like to. if you have about one liter of it and can fit it in the bottle. then you just carbonate it by hitting the button.
@duncanbishop1 What I meant was that the company will void the warrantee if you don't use their stuff as opposed to say, making your own lemonade and carbonating it. In my mind, it is as if I am renting the thing if I have to use it THEIR way with THEIR product. Can anyone say monopoly?
@Landotter1 "The money-back guarantee and the warranty are both invalidated if you carbonate any liquid other than water in your soda maker." That's from their website. I don't know how they'd be able to tell if you did or not though. if you wash the bottle out afterwards right?
@HardcoreGamingClan1 Yes, you can puchase the flavor syrup by itslef so technically you can use it any way you want. The Soda Stream unit uses a CO2 cylinder to carbonate chilled water, and then you add the flavor however you like to create your own soda, flavored sparkling water, etc. You can control both the amount of carbonation and the strength of flavor. It is so awesome and very environmentally friendly. It can also save you money and is very convenient.

I reckon you can't carbonate whatever you want, such as your favorite juice from the bottle? You have to use their stuff?
