i had this for four years in high school...my family, friends, everyone i knew pretty much disowned and disassociated with me, after 4 years i was able to stop, i started biting my nails and was talking myself out of stress...its been 5 years now since ive stopped, during finals one night I might do it a little bit, but not noticable. Now I am still dealing with confidence issues, as your confidence is completely crushed after years of public shaming scrutinity, isolation &phsycial embarassment.
benefit the body gets from pulling out the hair.... maybe there is something that is being produced in excess amounts that it is becoming toooo toxic for the dermis to handle in the region it is being pulled out... Let us not be so quick to assume that all hair pulling is the result of OCD and "STRESS" or "DEPRESSION"... its the doctors that are making me "stressed" telling me im feeling something that I am NOT. little knowledge is a terrible thing.
you docs dont know shit. i have ttm. it has nothing to do with "ocd" some F****** idiot back in the day thought "why would someone pull out there hair? they must be crazy... lets toss this into the "mental health" catergory. NO amount of pills, "behavioral therapies" and counseling have alleviated any of my "problems"... so before you "doctors" start prescribing medications to kids that DONT need to be on them... why don't you take some time researching and asking questions on what
I too have TTM. I have pulled both eyelashes and scalp hair. I have a page called "Trichotillomania (TTM) Awareness", it is a help page on Facebook that can get us connected and help others with some support and resources. Please feel free to post your info there and join our discussions!
At 7 years old, the human brain is still able to be remolded, like they say - you cant teach an old dog new tricks. I have a strong feeling that the reason why this young girl stopped her pulling is because her mother may have been more attentive to her daughter during the time of treatment. I am not saying that the mother is never in the daughters life, but I do notice a correllation with abandonment issues and ttm. The more comfortable and safe a child feels, the less they will pull.
I am doing what works. That little girl was 7 years old. As she walked in my office I noticed she had no eyebrows, no eyelashes & bald spots on the top of her head-it was real. I saw her ten years later and it never came back.
I am the honest one here.
She tried everything, her mother is a licensed therapist, drugs didn't work, but "I changed it because I am good & knows what is true."
I have some snake oil, juju beads, magic pills for people who aren't smart enough to see the obvious.
Yes, it does and don't let anyone tell you any different. You can win against this disorder. I know, I started when I was 8 years old, I am now 46 and I stopped about 3 1/2 years ago. I finally discoved why it started. For me, it was childhood trauma, molestation. But when I figured it out, I just stopped. My Trich was limited to eyelashes and eyebrows. The years of plucking left my lashes sparse, so I'm trying Latisse (done extensive research) Don't give up!
I have this condition myself, and my friends would often question me about it.I found it very addictive, and sometimes I couldn't resist telling people that I pulled my pubic hair out. They seemed to understand, and my parents were supportive.
I do understand that I am spoiling you with my wealth of knowledge but this video is a testimonial. If I have helped you guys post a video and tell how bad it was and how good it is now. It is really for other people may have stumbled upon these videos. You may help them as well.
Starting anywhere will get you there but you must start unless you like what you are now producing. Persistence is you most powerful tool. Peace Robert
You must understand that hair pulling is an emotional coping skill learned from the past. I cleaned up her experiences with being trapped in a barn and then cleared out the stresses of being trapped then the emotional hair pulling. New coping skills.
Okay. I have that disorder too. Glad to say, only on occasion. The reason for my writing is, the clip was so short, was there something missing? Your broadcasts are so informative, but this one is lacking any followup info. sorry.
If you watch the series of his videos, you will see the connection. It is not an unsubstantiated testimonial; it is supplemental. Don't knock it 'til you try it. Do your homework and watch the videos that show in detail what they have done in order to be able to report such results.
OMG, that is so wonderful. I also have Trich, have had it since the age of 13. It was worse during my teen years where I would just pull and pull until I was almost nearly bald./ Even though I still do it, it isn't as severe but I pray for the day I can stop fidgeting and pulling and just be calm.
Do you suggest we do the EFT everyday for X amount of days? Months?

I am wondering if she herself has this condition? she touches the nap of her neck quite a bit. I have Trich.

Healingmagic? easy to cure trich? why don't you sell a device for amazing weightloss or no-workout flat abs? It would be more honest.

I don't understand what this video is testifying for? What is the thing that made this woman 'a believer'? There seems to be something missing...

She is a believer in the tapping process which I teach.

It is very common and easily changed because it is driven by emotions.
