She could not speak or even form words at the age of 3. She was taken to a speech therapist for help and they found she could sing. Through singing she has learned to formed words and is starting to be able to talk more clearly. The reason she only sings half the words is because the muscles in her mouth don't let her. That is why she sings like this. If she keeps going she will keep improving and one day overcome this hardship!!!!! I know it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing that I've noticed is that she doesn't fully "sing" half of the words in her songs; and by that I mean that she'll start singing (ex. heart) a word, but half way through, she'll move on to the next one.
I do realize that she is only 6 in this video, but most six year olds (even if they don't sing very well) can at least "sing" fully through each word in whatever song they are "performing."
Eesh! Relax... Don't you think I know that? I was merely making an observation.
It seems like each time a person makes anything less than a dogmatic comment about a video like this, he or she gets criticized and reprimanded.
It seems like every time someone makes anything less than a dogmatic comment about a child's singing ability or whatever, they get criticized and reprimanded for that.
And you imply that I'm ignorant of that fact that she's autistic, but you're also ignorant of the fact that I'm not.
If you had read the 2nd comment I posted after that (don't know what happened to it), you would have seen that I also said that she has GREATLY IMPROVED since this video was taken.
But whatever, think what you want about me; you're entitled to your own opinion of course.
Either way, Gina Maria is a very talented little girl no matter what sort of condition she has. :)
I would agree that the comment from nukepuppy was a little too brash...any comment that begins with "dude" is bound to be brash, BUT I think criticizing a 6-yr olds singing, regardless of whether she has autism or not, is really ridiculous.
Soooo cute ^^
