this is my opinion, i think the digimons(main characters) in this season are far more powerful than the previous seasons, the thing is that their opponents are too much (mad scientist, demon lord, royal knights and god of the digital world) and made them look weak which actually their not. Burst modes are powers beyond mega, they are not mode change like imperialdramon (from animal to human like), so that makes practically powerful, their mega levels alone is stronger than previous seasons
