i love the hating comments on both fourwheelers...makes me think everybodies opinios when it comes to fourwheelers is freaking stupid....their bothh sweet ive ridin both and i hardcore mud and water wheelie
almost wondering if the guy on the xp was zigzaging the pit on purpose, cross over the ruts, instead of falling into them and gettin high centered, like what happened to the can am.
@ozzy107 Come for a ride with me sometime....lol. I'll open your eyes. The QE visco in the 2010 and newer CanAms is light years ahead of the old systems
only reason the polaris got through first is because it had better tires. however the Can-Am still had the factory tires on it. if the Can-Am had good mud tires it would have went through that mud pit twice before the polaris got through once.
that polaris can also go to the farm and do work and play. how many can-ams do you see on the farm hauling stuff around and then going to a mud pit and beating or staying right with the other machines that are almost met for that stuff. and riding on the sides inst cheating its called being smart dumbass. hes still within the mud pit.
that polaris can also go to the farm and do work and play. how many can-ams do you see on the farm hauling stuff around and then going to a mud pit and beating or staying right with the other machines that are almost met for that stuff. POLARIS
you would be just as well off with either of these machines, visco lock in the can am is good, and so is the polaris 4x4. its just luck that the polaris made it first.
@rinsetwice , it might be a little luck that the polaris made it first, but the fact is that i own both atvs and the Polaris is much better. The can am is fast and rides like a sport bike, but thats about all i can say for it because the visco lock is junk compared to the Polaris awd system.
@daveknow1 Your a dumb ass, I have no videos up so go ahead and say I hide behind a computer(: but oasta has a shitload of videos I think by now it'd show if the can-ams are shit?
all this proves is that these two guys cant ride for shit. go can am! i have three and theyre badass! i constantly see guys switching to them in our area. the only thing going for polaris is the rzr, and thats short lived!
@accord21 , this is very true. I own them both and the Polaris is a far superior machine for every day use. Not only does the polaris have a true awd, the visco lock just sucks. I have a realy hard time going places with my can am that my polaris just bulls through. Polaris hands down the better atv.
@cbk982 True it is an opinion thing. I'd much rather just ride and not have to worry about stopping and locking my 4wd, then stop and unlock it after I get past the mudpit.
this is stupid...wow i can push my atv around in muddy water...i have a polaris 500 4x4 but can am makes quality machines...if you prefer polaris awesome if u prefer can am thats awesome too...everyone has a choice...thats what this country is all about.
i have a cam am 800 with 29.5 outlaws and my dad has a polaris 850 with 31 inch outlaws and my can am will out run it in a races and when it comes to mud that can am will pull the "POLARIS 850" sticker off of it!
the canam might only have 1hp more than the polaris but the power to weight ratio is unbelievable. dont you see how the popo had less wheelspin than the canam at the start? smells like a shitty driver on the canam, he cant handle the beast.
this does prove nothing....i am a polaris fan but seriously....who wouldnt ride a can am.. they both are extremely powerful machines.....i would like to have both
@nickelfer I'm sorry can am sucks. it takes about 5 wheel spins to engage the four wheel drive whereas polaris only takes 1/16 of a wheel spin every time no matter what
You guys take this too gentle. I'd be jumping all over that shit making it bite. You don't move enough. I've gotten through the same shit, but through deep "U"s. Dumbass cousin does worse shit then this. He rides a 700 sportsman and just last weekend went through shit this deep AND crawled over fallen trees. Albeit it took a lot of bouncing on the front end, he made it out faster than these "professionals"
yeah, mud bogging proves nothing btw, the condition of the side your own determines how you perform, and to prove that, notice how that can am gets out first in the begining and then the polaris catches up, common sense shows that the can am had it easy at first and then the polaris got it easy, if you think otherwise, your a moron
@atvman101 The Polaris ran both sides and all over that hole. So use common sense yourself. The Can Am got beat fair and sq. I looked at your profile and see you have an Outlander, quit hating.
I have two Polaris Quads( 500 and 850) and a Honda 700xx, and they are awesome bikes, but I just put mu deposit down on a can am outlander 800rx mr....and It is going to be the king of all quads
My Polaris sprortsman 700 sucks! I seriously wish u had becer bought it! I doend more time fixing the goddamn thing than riding! Never buying from polaris again.
i drove a newer can-am with that and had tracks on it when i would climb up a drift and get on the gas when the 4 tire locks in sounds like the shaft breaks
I have a 2000 sportsman 500 which I use for hunting have Brought out of the bush over 2 dozen wild cattle.I put the 4 legs on the front ,the carcase on the rear. The polaris takes these loads where I had to winch my 8 wheel Argo.Add to this dozens of goats and wild pigs over the years,no problems.Hope to get a new polaris this year.In the bush on steep terrain with these loads you need a 4Wd that works with no stopping and stuffing around
I've been ridin a 08' Sportsman 500 Touring for about 2 years, don't have one bad thing to say, she ain't no 850, but she halls wiked and can tare with the best of em! Polaris is the gear.
Umm.... Yes it was a Massive water hole.. so.. Im sure even a wolverine 350..had a chance of winning that one.. its a bad example of the ATV's over all preformance/quality or Power. comes down to what tires your runnin. lol. and Basically CAN-AM kicks ass for quality.. Polaris Would be and Could be Great quad but their Down Fall is the fact.. they weigh roughly another (((180 lbs)))) over all their competitors. and thats just Sad!.
lol, ive seen so many videos on youtube that the polaris won just because it weights much more... and people have been commenting: the polaris weight so much more, UNFAIR! so fake video... utlilty to weights lowest is disadventage
weights more, because it has more and better technology, bigger engine and more confort. But even with that overweight, it won. Where is your god now?
This mud hole is NOT a true test of either rider ability , nor machine quality ! It's just a big fuckin mud hole. They could try to ride their bicycles through it just as well ! Ha-Ha , I pushed my bike through it faster than you !
You don't know shit about atv's Polaris and Can Am are the best built today followed by Kawasaki and so on, Can am 800 and polaris 850 are both rated at 70 Hp but polaris is built better, 25% bigger radiator than can am and there 4-wheel drive is on demand true 4X4 not visco lock where there is a clutch that grabs after the front tire spins out and will eventually heat up to turn the other by that time you are stuck, Polaris has the most clearance front and rear, power steering & many more.
so true, except i think yamaha should be in second then honda then suzuki, but polaris is in last they are pieces of crap, i know people who have each of these brands.
BOMBARDIER AND CAN AM RULE THERE IS NOTING LIKE IT
my new 09 arctic cat 1000 will kick both there asses, hell my 08 yamaha grizzly 700fi would prob bet them in a 4x4 competition like this but not in a power or speed competition but between these 2 i will have to go with polaris.
I raced a 04 Grizzly 660 vs 02 sportsman 500 HO and it wasn't even a race, sportsman won by over 3 lengths in 1000 FT. Yamaha are slow as shit, Polaris, can am, Kawasaki, will all own your grizzly 700.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The CAN AM Outlander is far better than this bulky XP tank. For example, the XP weighs more than 100lbs more than the nimble Outlander. It has to use a 850cc engine@ 70 hp while the Outlander uses a 800cc engine and produces 71hp. In board brakes on the Outlander is far better than than having them at each wheel, less up-sprun weight, & more mass centralization. I could go on for hrs on this kind of stuff.
your right , can-ams are designed alot better. My only complaint is that although the visco lok is great, an optional full lock with visko would be prime. Visko-lock allows you to still steer your machine, but with a full diff it just goes where it wants, much harder to steer it. Other than that can-am is by far number 1
Outlander is junk, You ever take the seat of and flick the frame with your finger? All i get is a high pitch ping! becuase its thin chinese metal. Yes the Polaris weighs a bit more but not very much, which is an advantage. Plus the weight of the rider has alot to do with it. And the hp, its 1 horse difference so what. But these are just our opinions right, and if yours is so much better. Why did the Xp win in this Vid??????????????
can am has the worst 4 wheel drive system on any atv by far polaris weighs more but it still has more ride hight. for power steering on a can am you have to pay 13 thousand dollars. or you could get the worlds best atv with power steering for 3 and a half thousand less now lets see polaris or can am... now lets see who is better
The Sportman's Shootout is a joke--it is totally biased data. For example, they say the XP beats the Can Am in pulling test. They forget to mention the reason why the XP won is because the XP weighs over 100 lbs than the Outlander 800.
it does give it an advantage to win your right but a heavier atv is harder to manueuver when off roading and can cause you to get mired quicker in mud/snow i think polaris has a more comfortable ride and can tow better but as a all around for everything atv the can-am is better plus i hear and see alot more broken polaris atv's then i do can-am
@fischerskidude - Better? It all depends on the rider and what the ATV is in use for. I've owned a lot of 4x4's and my brute force was a tough utility ATV. But, I had to let it go in favor of my riding needs. My friends and I have experienced the high maintenance issues with Polaris even though it is still long lived and powerful. In the mountains we absolutely humiliate everything that comes near us on our Renegades and Outlanders. So what if a Polaris tows a few more pounds. Do you need that?
I like both can am and polaris but over all the can am has a little better engine for the cc but polaris is the best as if right now from all the new things they added to them. Will agree that the video is bias data but when they did the pull they added weight to the out lander as seen in the video.
I love my lever engagement though. Why oh why do they have to go polaris-style. Not knocking polaris, I just have gotten stuck on a polaris in situations where the brute would lock all 4 until I knew (which a machine can't) when i could go back to three or even two wheel drive.
My personal opinion on this particular race is that whoever built the strip should have is ass kicked. That drag strip sucked balls. And I nominate a 750 Brute Force w/power steering. Flip a switch to drive around in 3 wheel drive, pull a lever to truly lock it into 4 wheel drive (w/0 having to spin it to lock up as you do with polaris or can-am) and that damn brute force will pull like a John Deere tractor.
Times are changin Polaris' awd system is instant no levers or buttons to hold, and new for 2010 CanAm has a visco lock QE(quick engagement) which also locks in instantly....so there is no cruising in 3 wheel drive and getting stuck then flipping a lever or holding a button when you are already stuck
"Polaris might be better in the mud- but only if it can get started.............." This made me laugh. Times are a changin for both brands. Can-Am used to be very poor quality machines. Honda used to make GREAT bikes. The roles have reversed. The Foremans are just plain turds. Polaris's newer models aren't bad bikes at all. Neither are Can-am.
i had a 08 polaris sportsman 500 and it broke like 15 times so i bought myself a can am renegade and i had it for like 3 weeks and it hasnt even broke yet and ive been driving it hard...... and everyone that has a polaris you shud get a can am because POLARIS QUADS FUCKING SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
youre just saying that cus u dont like polaris. if ur broke down after 3 weeks... no one makes that you RETARD. mine polaris has no problems and its months old POLARIS ROCKS
@quagmire8490 yeah man, you are so right, I had a 2005 700 polaris sportsman and the damned 4wd broke every year for three years straight, thats polarises awd system for ya, I even talked to the polaris guys and told them that without the switch on or anything, as soon as the back tires spin so fast it just kicks in the 4wd, thus why it tore out three times on me, so I sold it and got an 09 can-am renegade 500, it could eat those polarasses alive man
@quagmire8490 i have a polaris sportsman 500 08 with 30" mudzillas its awsome in the mud and my brother has a outlander my quad beat it in everything the only thing the can am beat it in is breaking :) can ams suck fucking balls
i have an 09 850 xp that i would love to ride however it is broken for the third time with only 1100 miles on it. broke the rr rim twice because a rock got caught between the caliper and the wheel in mud pit, no shielding to protect against this problem however my wifes grizzly does. now back in the shop for fairly large diff leak. i had an 07 grizzly 700 but wanted more pow

my new 09 arctic cat 1000 will kick both there asses, hell my 08 yamaha grizzly 700fi would prob bet them in a 4x4 competition like this but not in a power or speed competition but between these 2 i will have to go with polaris.
eminem28659 2 years ago
I raced a 04 Grizzly 660 vs 02 sportsman 500 HO and it wasn't even a race, sportsman won by over 3 lengths in 1000 FT. Yamaha are slow as shit, Polaris, can am, Kawasaki, will all own your grizzly 700.

QuadExpert1 2 years ago
your right , can-ams are designed alot better. My only complaint is that although the visco lok is great, an optional full lock with visko would be prime. Visko-lock allows you to still steer your machine, but with a full diff it just goes where it wants, much harder to steer it. Other than that can-am is by far number 1
Termin800R 2 years ago
haha its just you that dosent have any muscle to steer
MrRobban1234 2 years ago
Outlander is junk, You ever take the seat of and flick the frame with your finger? All i get is a high pitch ping! becuase its thin chinese metal. Yes the Polaris weighs a bit more but not very much, which is an advantage. Plus the weight of the rider has alot to do with it. And the hp, its 1 horse difference so what. But these are just our opinions right, and if yours is so much better. Why did the Xp win in this Vid??????????????
comgizz 2 years ago 10
@comgizz if polaris weighs more than why didnt it sink and get traction. quit maken excuses and just admit can-ams kick ass
midnite141 1 year ago
can am has the worst 4 wheel drive system on any atv by far polaris weighs more but it still has more ride hight. for power steering on a can am you have to pay 13 thousand dollars. or you could get the worlds best atv with power steering for 3 and a half thousand less now lets see polaris or can am... now lets see who is better
nickstammwitz 2 years ago 2
lets see the can am weighs less and has more power and they have a new diff lock system this year
TheBoss1693 2 years ago
lets see you are a little bitch and polaris owns cam piece of shit
MrRobban1234 2 years ago
The Sportman's Shootout is a joke--it is totally biased data. For example, they say the XP beats the Can Am in pulling test. They forget to mention the reason why the XP won is because the XP weighs over 100 lbs than the Outlander 800.
QuadExpert1 2 years ago
so... it still wins, the extra weight is an advantage when it comes to towing so your point is irrelevant, the xp is a better utility atv
fischerskidude 2 years ago 11
it does give it an advantage to win your right but a heavier atv is harder to manueuver when off roading and can cause you to get mired quicker in mud/snow i think polaris has a more comfortable ride and can tow better but as a all around for everything atv the can-am is better plus i hear and see alot more broken polaris atv's then i do can-am
cplboyd 2 years ago
@fischerskidude - Better? It all depends on the rider and what the ATV is in use for. I've owned a lot of 4x4's and my brute force was a tough utility ATV. But, I had to let it go in favor of my riding needs. My friends and I have experienced the high maintenance issues with Polaris even though it is still long lived and powerful. In the mountains we absolutely humiliate everything that comes near us on our Renegades and Outlanders. So what if a Polaris tows a few more pounds. Do you need that?

and you are a gay joke
MrRobban1234 2 years ago
I like both can am and polaris but over all the can am has a little better engine for the cc but polaris is the best as if right now from all the new things they added to them. Will agree that the video is bias data but when they did the pull they added weight to the out lander as seen in the video.

I love my lever engagement though. Why oh why do they have to go polaris-style. Not knocking polaris, I just have gotten stuck on a polaris in situations where the brute would lock all 4 until I knew (which a machine can't) when i could go back to three or even two wheel drive.
incubusflyguy 2 years ago
"Cant we all get along", who cares which model won, Its all about having fun
quaddoctor24 2 years ago 2
Honestly, 1/5 of 1 rotation is hardly noticeable at all, It seems instant when your out on the trails....
ostacruiser 2 years ago
True. Very true. I can tell in advance when I'm going to need all 4 locked and like having that option. Here's hoping they keep a lever available.
incubusflyguy 2 years ago
My personal opinion on this particular race is that whoever built the strip should have is ass kicked. That drag strip sucked balls. And I nominate a 750 Brute Force w/power steering. Flip a switch to drive around in 3 wheel drive, pull a lever to truly lock it into 4 wheel drive (w/0 having to spin it to lock up as you do with polaris or can-am) and that damn brute force will pull like a John Deere tractor.
incubusflyguy 2 years ago
Times are changin Polaris' awd system is instant no levers or buttons to hold, and new for 2010 CanAm has a visco lock QE(quick engagement) which also locks in instantly....so there is no cruising in 3 wheel drive and getting stuck then flipping a lever or holding a button when you are already stuck
ostacruiser 2 years ago
Actually it takes 1/5 of a revolution of the front wheel. Good enough for the government, right?!
incubusflyguy 2 years ago
"Polaris might be better in the mud- but only if it can get started.............." This made me laugh. Times are a changin for both brands. Can-Am used to be very poor quality machines. Honda used to make GREAT bikes. The roles have reversed. The Foremans are just plain turds. Polaris's newer models aren't bad bikes at all. Neither are Can-am.

youre just saying that cus u dont like polaris. if ur broke down after 3 weeks... no one makes that you RETARD. mine polaris has no problems and its months old POLARIS ROCKS
sveinungj 2 years ago
@quagmire8490 yeah man, you are so right, I had a 2005 700 polaris sportsman and the damned 4wd broke every year for three years straight, thats polarises awd system for ya, I even talked to the polaris guys and told them that without the switch on or anything, as soon as the back tires spin so fast it just kicks in the 4wd, thus why it tore out three times on me, so I sold it and got an 09 can-am renegade 500, it could eat those polarasses alive man
shawndude316 1 year ago
