I was born in the city (Kirkuk) when this explosion happened, I was in Iraq when this happened and my house was only about 500-700m away from the airbase when it happened, I got to say, it was EPIC.

this is kurkuk iraq 04 i was 500 meters form this in a bunker the bunker was pretty much destroyed by the end its mad of concret and sandbags if you were in the open u most likely would be killed

I remember that night... in Dec 2006.  I was based at Rustamiyah, 15 miles away and the explosions were so loud tht we thought OUR based was under attack. One of those explosions totally cleared out the mess hall (you know how everyone scatters for the bunkers!)
