Sad and unnecessary! Poverty is created by governments borrowing from private banks at interest rather than the Bank of Canada. Debt has sky rocketted since 1974 when the policy started and the lions share is interest on interest. The Federal Gov't pays banks nearly $200 million each day (>5$ per person). Provinces add more. Look up: "money as debt 2" and "the-crime-of-the-canadian-banking-system" on youtube. You’ll be appalled, banker bonuses at the cost of taxpayers and the homeless.

Io sadd for homles specialy in the winter i have a mental illness ptsd from getting hit by car i get loisy 700 hundred a month dont even cover my bills it gets very depressing every day i,m worried of being evicted from my apartment i go to food banks they look at me like like i,m a criminal but i no what i am i dont have a single adiction. I no people have adictions no one is perfect noone should efver sleep on the street no matter what case government should fell ashamed god bles all homless.
@mrspydog50 is there any job you could do that you could earn more than $700/month? Is there any way forward for you - training, study, etc that could equip you to someday get a job? do you have any business ideas that might help you earn money?
The only way to stop homelessness in Canada is get rid of all that low income or geared to income or habitat for humanity crap and put EVERYONE that can't hold there own weight into bunk like sheltars.What is it with some 'BUMS" living in luxury and other 'bums ' living on the streets ?
i am just wondering why you care so much about homelessness. i do care a lot too. and i try to do everything i can to help but this is b/c i went from being very rich to almost homeless had it not been for my grandparents. did anything happen to u to make you support such a horrific cause. im from ua and homelessness is just as bad here so sad

homelessness is everywhere- not just canada...reality is there will always be poor & rich people- - its not so much of a matter as to them needing to "wake up"- its just not that simple, there are many aspects/issues, etc... to it

As homeless in Canada, we need change. That change is NDP! Vote NDP, because I truly believe that this country is going back to the polls. We have too go back to the polls. This country is falling apart because of the Cons we have in power, the harper government does not care about us. Halifax recently had their provincial vote and NDP got the majority. NDP= Change. Take action by voting NDP!
@jrockstarking, a big problem with Canada is they like to point their finger at the USA (and sometimes Israel) for problems in the world or issues (like being homeless). In some cases some will even say things like "we do not have homeless in Canada that is an American issue".
it makes me sad its kids doing this....i mean its good but it should not be up to teens to help the homeless altho its very moving to see them doing it
