man i use 4850x2 card, too.it never goes that levels of fan speed !! idle fan speed is %3 and max %10 fan speed it goes if you play crysis, gta IV like high performance games for a long time.
Its going critical! GORDON GET AWAY FROM IT! ATTEMPTING SHUTDOWN! its not... ITS NOT SHUTTING DOWN *everything blows up* AHHHH haahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
its loud because its cooling 2 Gpus at once. if you want a beast card then you should expect that. better then it being quiet and your shit overheating.
this card was a good idea and i would recommand it in terms of preformance only sapphire obvously saved cash on the cooling solution and if there is one thing i hate about graphic cards it is when they are loud like a jet engine taking off.
I'm getting it, I've read and heard often that its loud, but as I'll have the case beside my table on the floor, closed and away from me + 5.1 speakers, I guess it wont be much of a problem. Also, the performance-to-price - ratio is great :)
sound depends on casing too. any antec gamer case (other than the 300) reduces noise substantially. i'm using the 902 with this card now OCed on full settings with everything and can't hear a peep.
that is soooooo much better then the reference fan (the tiny little one on the first 4850s that were sold, now they use non reference which is what u have)

the noise gives a nice sounds, a sounds that feels good, like the card is frozen, so hard it spins, like a jet starting

What is the name of software you have regulated and messed noise level? I got Asus A3H notebook and the noise level of the fan is crazy.
My Speedfan program doesn´t mess the fan parametres.Thats why I am asking.
Thank you.

gpu clock 160mhz / memory 250mhz ??
i have the 4850x2 but my card runs @ 500 mhz core clock idle and 625 on load
roblamper 2 years ago
the only problem is, it doesnt need to run that high, mine my is only at 3% continuous even when overlclocked when it has load it runs about 5-10%
ryanoghlan 3 years ago
what temps are you getting running ur 4850x2 on 10% ?
Kurosaki 2 years ago
um i dont know what it gets at 10% but at 3% it maxes out at 44C under full load and overclocked. so i would guess it would be about 35-40C at 10%

not unbearable but at least noticeable at idle.
while plaing a videogame the noise is covered by game sonds ...
svl444 3 years ago
Do you think the sound is unbearable? What level of fan speed is noticeable when playing a video or a game?
hbaber 3 years ago
deoends on how strong your putting your sound on but if u want a nice and powerful gpu and ur on the budget this or the 4870 is the way to go
