  • lol, funny laugh. thanks for some labor ready explanations

  • Update;

    Im not a drug addict

Im not a felon, never got arrested. I AM very knowledgeable about how they run there ship!

They screwed me, so I screwed them. I am now a full time worker at one of the sites they sent me too.

You need to be there when they open the doors first thing in the morning. Fridays are bad and it helps to have a car, BIG TIME! In closing, if the work isnt available then they should let you know but they dont because they want as many hands available to there disposal!

  • Me personally, I don't think any of those labor places are worth a flip. All of them I want to, you just sit and wait for like 3 hours only to find they have nothing for you. I think "Labor Not Ready" is a more proper name. Just like "Able Body Labor" closed down well because I guess "Able" Body is now Disabled.

  • Im not one that needs a second chance but just a better ECONOMY!

    ‎"

  • Part (2) I could have done the job Labor Ready had hired there employees to do the right way, the first time. My application does not stutter!

Everyone has skills but most employers want at least a GED. I didnt ask this Client of labor ready for a job but they asked me to fill out an app! And because I am an asset, LR Lied there ass off as if I was to stupid to realize. I called there bluff. Labor Ready is out for them selves, Period!! Labor Ready Fucked me...

  • @natscar64 I remember a few months ago when I went to Labor Ready, took this big ass test and then this drunk guy at the counter said "sorry sir but you did not qualify". I know he sounded drunk. We can change the name of "Labor Ready" to "Labor Not Ready". As for "Able Body", I guess it closed down here where I live because "Able Body" is now "Disabled Body". Too many places don't live up to their name. As for that whistling, you might as well do that for 3 hours while you wait.

  • Part (1) Labor Ready can and will lie there ass Off! I dont do drugs,Im to smart to put labels on boxes yet not smart enough to have the sit down job that my doctor requires I do. If the dmv report disqualifies me to drive for employers, then where is the copy of the report? Back up what you say! It should be in the system via computer or in my folder, right! Now I have to wait 2 days to go back to work because continued...

  • What do you do at labor ready???

  • lol

  • I got a question, does Labor Ready provides benefits for workers?

  • im aboot to go work at the labour ready. I think im gonna stay up all night. I mean I don't think I have to be alert or anything, working for the labour ready

  • you are a complete douche! why don't you quit smoking crack?

  • LABOR READY RULES FUCK OFF PEOPLE I MAKE GOOD MONEY AND GET PAID EVERYDAY

  • this morning i went to labor ready for the first time in 3 yrs. I previously worked for them in the past. It has changed... If they dont have jobs coming in they send you home and close up shop at 7 am. 3 years ago you could sit there in the office till 11am. They dont have coffee there. :( and i did not get a job today. Oh well maybe next time. I guess some branches are way different but im here in tacoma and chances are slim for getting a job.

  • i use to have to be at labor ready at 2 am cause people would line up that early, it sucked

  • o man what is that whistling noise? It's pretty funny.

  • @ducttapeandzipties When I was at Elkton Hills, I roomed for about two months with this boy, Harris Mackim. He was very intelligent and all, but he was one of the biggest bores I ever met. He had one of these very raspy voices, and he never stopped talking, practically. He never stopped talking, and what was awful was, he never said anything you wanted to hear in the first place. But he could do one thing. The sonuvabitch could whistle better than anybody I ever heard...

  • @ducttapeandzipties ...He’d be making his bed, or hanging up stuff in the closet–he was always hanging up stuff in the closet–it drove me crazy–and he’d be whistling while he did it, if he wasn’t talking in this raspy voice. He could even whistle classical stuff, but most of the time he just whistled jazz. He could take something very jazzy, like “Tin Roof Blues,” and whistle it so nice and easy–right while he was hanging stuff up in the closet–that it could kill you...

  • @ducttapeandzipties ...Naturally, I never told him I thought he was a terrific whistler. I mean you don’t just go up to somebody and say, “You’re a terrific whistler.” But I roomed with him for about two whole months, even though he bored me till I was half crazy, just because he was such a terrific whistler, the best I ever heard. So I don’t know about bores. Maybe you shouldn’t feel too sorry if you see some swell girl getting married to them...

  • @ducttapeandzipties ... They don’t hurt anybody, most of them, and maybe they’re secretly all terrific whistlers or something. Who the hell knows? Not me.

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008

what the fuck are you talking about exactly?

  • @ducttapeandzipties Sorry. The whistling thing reminded me of The Catcher in the Rye. That's all a quote from that. Should've explained.

  • I ran a Labour Ready office in Scotland UK for 6 years. Things seem to be a bit different here with better min wage, worker rights etc. Provided similar jobs as described in other posts, but most people seemed to enjoy the experience (and same day pay). Fact is, they provide a service and noone is forced to go there at 0500. I saw many homeless and down on their luck people get full time work thru labour ready when noone else would give them a chance. Not for everyone I agree but not so bad...

  • they do give you free coffee though

  • Sounds like a real loser

  • If you want to be someones Physical Bitch for 8 an hour, join Labor Ready. Ditch digging, cemet mixing, heavy loading, stuff people do in third world countries that live in poverty. Go for it!

  • Labor ready is for drug addicts , felons and illegals

  • man i would hate to have to fall down to this job, i know how much being a laborer sucks, but doing this job for minimum wage and being treated like shit just wouldnt be worth it, i would rather be a janitor or work fastfood, i'm not dissing on labor ready, im just saying what i would do.

  • this video is halarious to me. Ive worked off and on at lready ive had dry spells but ive also had week long tickets that payed me good makeing 600 a week, more than the average job would. Im a convicted felon so I really dont have a choice though, people dont care about a felon no matter what you do!!!!!!!! before you ask it was drugs we all mess up. You tell me your without sin i call you a liar!

  • labor ready & others fucking work agencies, who taking advance of the bad times pay just the minimum wage($7.25) and have drives who take u to the work area & some times u have to pay $7 for the ride & some times u don't work 8 hours just 5 or even 4 ....TELL ME 5x7=35 -(TAXES) - (RIDE) = $28 that's what u get at the end of the day ,,,& like the guy of this video said they want u at 5:30 in the morning....THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT U THEY JUST SEE THEIR PROFIT. please don't work for no money!!!

  • @thechapin208 True..I know they are a business just for the money. But HEY. Im a college student and its summer break right now. So I got a part-time job. And hell, get 28-35 bucks extra wont hurt..hahaha. they can be for my Orioles baseball tickets

  • ive been at labor ready everyday this week at 5 am and theyve only gotten me 12 hours of work total in two of the days at 7.25 an hour.somebody kill me

  • I used LR in the past. Mostly you clean-up after craftsmen/trades. The best job i had was helping a guy under a house with pink insulation board. He gave me $10.00 on top of what LR Pay. The worst job was cleaning after welders inside a dark barge. I also removed carpet and set-up at rose quarter.

  • have been going to labor ready for a couple of days and they never give me nothing!, and don't get me wrong I am a young, healthy man with no addictions at all only unskilled....gotta learn a trade but without money is hard

  • I spent the whole time at labor ready and they didn't get me a job...

  • Labor Ready has saved my ass more than once.

  • Same day pay, sounds good for a guy that smokes crack. Seriously what a bunch of dirt bags that run that company. They must love this economy.

  • And yes, I do have another job besides fucking Labor Ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hhahahaha....They all suck!

  • I was supposed to work today at 2pm for Labor Ready, thankfully I have a job. They truly do suck. I've tried getting jobs from them the past few weekends, cant get anything. Now I decided to be a backstabber, and vamoo, it worked. If they fired me, oh well, they'll find another drunk/drug addict/ex jail-bird to do my job. I don't fall into that 'class' of people...Labor Ready sucks everywhere in the USA/Canada, they might give you a job, but pay crap!

  • lol. labor ready is for people tryna make a lil somthin.

  • Your whistling sucks! I see you're friends with that creepy old guy that wears that dingy neck brace... at least I know why you can't get a real job. You shouldn't be trashing the Labor Ready - they helped out my mother until she found her job she has now... I guess they're not helping you much are they? I get up early for my job and it's great! Thank God I work for Tim Hortons at PSUC! (Plattsburgh State University College) - I love my full time job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just got back from Labor Ready, and they got me a job at Tim Horton's at PSUC, what a coincendence huh? So I guess we'll be co-workers now

  • Tim Hortons would never take someone like you! Labor Ready wouldn't get anyone a job at Tim Hortons or any of the colleges in the area. Labor Ready will give you some kind of pissy job doing something no-one else would want to do. Tim Hortons doesn't accept applicants from places like Labor Ready. You're such an idiot! Instead of going to Labor Ready why don't you just get your lazy ass out there and apply for a REAL job?!

  • @Doctor72 you still work there lol

i hate that place, be there 5 am in the morning, i will leave at 4, and what do you know, on the way i get robbed by 4 young people with shotguns , and i only had 5 bucks hahaha

  • Instead of labor do this.

First make sure you have a good size bag large enough to fit packages. Then move to a major city like New York. You can work as a messenger.

In most cities you will be on a bike, but in NY you can walk and use the subway. learn the city well, rent a 100 dollar per week room and you could gross 300 per week walking and 500 per week biking.

Ohh yeah get a map of whateever ctiy you plan on messengering in.

    I am a messenger so I know.

  • I had a full time job and wanted to try something new to see what it was like so I got a job at labor ready. It was a blistering hot day and they sent me to a construction site to sweep a street where a truck hauled dirt all day. I was heat exausted and they never offered any water. I stayed for hours and was paid $25.00 for the day- it's a sweat shop!

  • Labor Ready takes advantage of those that are irresponsible and/or drug addicts by offering same day pay. This allows them to pay less.

  • Labor Ready sucks balls. I had to dig holes in the friggin' rain at 7:30 a.m. and a 30 foot trench. Then the dude made me dig a deep hole to expose some pipe, only to cover it up again. Whatever. I left the site at 11:30 and only made 33 dollars for the day.

  • come on man look at these guys

  • All the guys from labour ready bitch and bitch when its not even hard work, they just work to make a quick buck to buy a pack of smokes or a gram of weed or booze then fuck off and are never seen again

  • Labour ready is trash, its not hard to find a real job and if it is you have problems

  • @MatthewJames1985 Well maybe I do have problems because companies don't make it very easy now a days. Maybe I should try a different approach than what I am trying as of today. Because companies now days don't make it very easy. Even if you don't have a criminal record. Its still hard now a days.. Maybe I will try a different strategy

  • Labor Ready was one of the most f-ed up, racist places I ever worked (I'm white). I got constantly physically/verbally harassed and ended up getting in a fight where both of us left in handcuffs. The kind of people that work there consistently, in my opinion, are what's keeping America sucky.

  • I hate that fucking whistling, stop that you putzy fool fudge labour ready fu

  • Bunch of Putz's working at the company lazy bastard ass bitches they deserve what they get, find a real job

  • Labor Ready should be ashamed of themselves at the way they treat their workers. No one should be making less than $15/HR. I don't know how the CEO Steve Cooper can sleep at night knowing people get treated like this.

  • I was hoping that the Labor Ready would have something like AMERICAN GLADIATORS to get that awe-inspiring work ticket. Then, if you're not so lucky to go somewhere, you can opt for the HUMILIATION to get your $40. Something like holding a sign that says SHOOT ME! Only $5/hour

    GO LABOR WHORE!

  • Ugh, Slaver Ready sucks. For the time and money you spend getting there early in the morning, and then to your location, you're making 25 dollars for a day's worth of work at most. These people should be disgusted with themselves. They just want to take advantage of crack addicts and hobos.

  • The comments below speak for themselves ... ANYTHING is better than wasting your day at this place !

  • they never have any jobs people wait for hours.

  • i was a manager at labor ready. i had a employee work for 8 hours and afterwards we paid him out, but because he had child support as well as wanting cash that day which costs 2 bucks..he received no money...i hate working at that place..gl all.

  • be thankful don't knock lr u should be thankful it is there for u

  • i went to the one in San Francisco back in 2002 WASTE OF TIME! The money you spend getting there and back you might as well just go out look for work on your own, your paying to work some job that barely gets you enough to even eat on. with inflation as it is its a waste of time not only to the employee but to the employer also. what we need is places where people can get proper educations so that they can get & learn how to get proper work plus also teach them how to manage their money!

  • maybe if people wouldn't file workmans comp claims that without taking a drug test prior they could get a real job and they wouldn't have to go to labor ready and con there way into a job.

  • Labor Ready is a con -- in Bismarck, North Dakota the female dispatchers send out to work only the bums that will pay to sleep with them -- mostly ex-cons -- all DRUNKS!! That is definitely some kick back scheme!

  • labor heavy sucks... ive been there because i had to pay my cell phone bill. sux.

  • Listening to Janice Joplin while going to Slave Ready? lol

  • I Use to work with labor readdy but i got taken on wear am workin now

  • If your dumb ass would of finished school then you wouldnt have to worry about the Labor Ready.... You shouldnt bite the hand that feeds you! Your lucky that Labor Ready is there for fuck ups like you. No one else wants to hire you for a reason.

  • "no one else wants to hire you for a reason"

SeraphSinew, saying what you said is just wrong. People are struggling in every career field. There just aren't a lot of jobs due to the recession. You are lucky to be working. You cant judge these people. If you lived a day in your life, you would understand that.

  • Your so correct. Many people are struggling. its almost like trying out for professional team as a walk on out of maybe 500 people and only 10 people being called back for a tryout to make the team. Plus applying for job is different now days than when it was 15 to 10 years ago and thats because most job applications are computerized via of the internet with the added benefit of having a personality evaluation add to the application and thats just for a 7.00 to 8.00 dollar and hour job.

  • LOL , I hope you keep making Glens Falls videos dude. You rule.

  • u guys dont know how to go about these things.ive worked in labor readys fromhere(FL) to seattle washington.ive seen all the states west of the miss river on labor ready.when i go out 90% of the time i get a 20 dollar tip.if its a short job i knock it out in two hours cause they have to pay me for 4 hour min.plus i can get a good under the table job once i get the person to trust me.

  • I too am working for labor ready. So far, I've worked with a druggie and a crazy cry baby. So, now I call them Psycho Ready. We usually have a lot of society's fuck-ups at our local office. I need to get back into the office because I'm not going to last very long.

  • Holy crap yes! Crazy Nate!!

  • Well Stop smoking the crack and get a real job I'm a manager of one of these temp services in Florida.

I see a lot of crazy shit the people who want to do better can if they just show up every day.

Hey if you drink mouth wash to get drunk then you really can't complain.

lol I've seen just about every thing.

  • Yeah, because everyone that goes to Slaver Ready is a drunk or a crackhead. I'm probably one of the only clean cut guys that goes into the local office.

I'm not a regular there though, thank God for that!

  • However crappy some of the jobs are, I doubt they can be this bad. Seven hours of work for 21 dollars. Nintey minutes to get to the job site, minimum four hours there, then nintey minutes back! Six bucks to the driver, end result is 21 dollars.

And here I thought slavery was abolished 150 years ago!

  • They had a good article called Hard Labor in a Minnesota paper about Labor Dog. It is the whole truth, my other roommate got DNR'd by them too many times and had to wait for this in Denver who was washing his clothes in a URINAL, he was called the skunk. Terrible place. Slaver Ready

  • Just google up "labor ready" along with a word like sucks drunk(s) or creeps and you'll get quite a few results. There's one good read from a paper in Anchorage, Alaska about them.

Btw, what did you mean by "he had to wait for this in Denver" ? He had to wait for a freak in Denver that was washing his clothes in a urinal? o_O So your room mate was the driver I take it? They seem to be the only ones that can make any money.

    Sorry for the long post!

  • Slave Labor of the decade, that is what my roommate said in Denver. He hurt his back and got $8 bucks from them, and they got him chased by dogs working at the Purina Dog Chow Plant packing food for the Japs. $4.50/hr.

  • I can beleive it.

Guy I was working with here, hurt himself and they told him "we'll give you six hours a week for light duty".

That was the last I ever saw of him.

  • Labour Ready, or as I like to call it, Slaver Ready sucks. The one here you have to line up at 5am, or even earlier to get a spot in line. If you come in at say, 6, you can forget about working.

The thing is, the pay is so terrible, that you can't get ahead, and eventully, you become trapped, unable to leave to get a real job because you won't have enough money to carry you through to your first paycheck.

Another thing I've noticed is the pay has auctully been CUT from 5 years ago.

  • your so right labor ready is old weak dirty old men who have made many mistakes in their life and should kill themselfs or sell body parts for human cadaver, speaking of, Im getting hungry!

  • Good Job More, More, About this Labor Ready....

  • You're hilarious! I've done this before... for one day. I shoveled snow off of roofs for 7 hours straight. It contributed to the bills, but it was awkward being the only girl there. Now I manufacture lightbulbs...wooo-hooo! We're movin' on up...
