  • Japanese children have loved rock and rock since they 1st heard it

  • the Japanese r smart they love Brian

  • u may be surprised to know that more Japanese people know this song better than us,don't underestimate anyone

  • most of japanese don't know how this song is loved in the USA...

  • thats not how you play the banjo

  • It's just not the same after you hear Earl Scruggs play it...

  • @FANJG24 You ain't kidding Fanjg24. After you hear the rendition that Earl Scruggs and Friends play, this sounds like an untuned mess. A great song, especially once you hear it played by the master.

  • @RayStantzGB Yep... I mean this is good, but nobody plays it like THE MAN!!!

  • fucking awesome, really cool

  • Drum Lessons 101

  • is that a Rickenbanjo?

  • i like the part when slim jim screams and lee goes crazy on up bass

  • This is good music, but it is not Foggy Mountain Breakdown. Kinda sounds like it though.

  • the electric banjo...oh shit

  • WOW.....that boy's got talent

  • 3 people had decided to stop playing anything that have strings on it xD... what an espectacular version, Brian Setzer one of the greatest guitar players ever...

  • ok

  • spcial guests on Beverly Hillbillies

  • we both grew up on flatts & scruggs

  • He even managed to throw in a few jazzy chords. Hmm...jazz banjo...now there's an untapped market!

  • @gldeluca

Not sure if you're kidding or not but jazz banjo has been around for a while, Check out Bela Fleck and Tony Trischka.

  • brian you are the quintessential

  • this guys a musical genius--he can play and cross over on all types of songs and music-from now to past-thx for posting

  • badass gutair and banjo player

  • That is one of the worst renditions of FMB I've ever heard and I still loved it. Go figure.

  • I ran across this tonight and wanted to share the greatness of Brian Setzer.

  • Holy crap. Thats the worst attempt at Foggy MTN Breakdown I've ever heard. That guy sucks. The bass and drummer need to find another front-man.

  • Brian Setzer on banjo? He did a great job with FMB! Perhaps he can do Blue Moon of Kentucky again on banjo!

  • I used to Earl Scrugg's banjo tech from '64 through 1971. Seltzer does a mighty fine job and it is authentic banjo music.

  • This is really fun! I had no idea Setzer had those kinda chops and that they could play a legitimate FMBDown... Really fun to listen to. Those who wish to listen to perfect intonation should listen to classical music and professional symphony orchestras. You wanna be entertained and hear some great music that is feeling-ful and interesting and moving, listen to Stray Cats playing friggin' BLUEGRASSSSSSS! Awesome!!! A place for everything and everything in its place!

  • awesome dance from Slim Jim Phantom!

  • BANJO!!!!!!!!

  • I've been listening to and playing Bluegrass music my whole life and I thought Setzer did a pretty damn good job on this one!

  • Man i bet Brian can play anything

  • Realy good :)

  • Umm...uh.....,well, after listening to that, I wouldn't say he was a god. He should stick to guitar. Somebody should've tuned it first.

  • first off all, he IS a guitar god. Secundo, he often plays with his guitar untuned or he un-tunes his guitar while playing a solo. He is one of the most complete guitar player in the world and his banjo performance was great.

  • @thunderstruckter666 "Un-tunes his guitar" ??? That's a load of bollocks m8! But I do agree he's one wiked guitar player ;)))

  • @bloozmonkey111 Yeah, re-tunes is the better word. Put as many notes as possible on open strings to get a better tone. It's not easy, but to be great you have to learn to play alternate tunings.

    He is pretty good.

  • @Hikikomori013 Yeah, I agree. But what I meant was that he doesn't play anything "untuned" as the the guy pointed out. What he does on guitar is maybe sometimes drops his low E to a D, but there's nothing "un-tuned" or open about it besides the one string. I can't imagine a player playing in standard and then re-tuning the whole thing open just for the solo. Makes no sense really.

  • @thunderstruckter666 one man today comes close,Ted Nugent

  • You're right...but....for most of us who are just diggin the entertainment aspect of the vid, it's neato. You are an expert and I am a piano player and a appreciator of mulligan stew music. So..be happy in your rightness and I will be happy in having heard the music.

An aside..pray for Gerry Rafferty (Baker Street) he is on a potentially life-ending bender with booze and needs God's intervention and ours with prayer. Dont need yet another Hank Williams story..

    Tom Loughlin Jr.-Utica NY

  • You said it all and very rightly, my friend!!! Prayers up for Rafferty!!!

  • lol he can play rockabilly, blues, jazz, swing, and BLUEGRASS!!!!! dam he's GOD

  • Well, based on your definition...so am I.

  • cool

  • ouch.............

  • Nice, but Roy Clark did it better......

  • Fantastic!

  • 10,000th view!

  • cool !

  • I don't think I have ever seen that type of ban...um....guit....whater it is...played...lol

  • Didn't know he could play, not surprised though
