OK, so there's supposed to be a little over 200 (something like 211) winners of $1000, because they're going to have a winner in every TV market across the country (if you study journalism, you understand what I mean by "market"). But one of those winners will of course, actually win the $10 million. In one of the video I watched, they contacted the winner ahead of time to let them know they had one $1000 (when they had REALLY won $1 million). Here's my question- anyone been contacted yet?
Back in those days, the winners were told by phone they won -- then months later, they were brought to NYC to make a commercial. They are real people though. In 1989 the Prize Patrol was formed and winners were surprised and the winning moment captured on videotape.
i never said i didn't believe it. (and i know that with the online entry forms, it gives you the option to be notified by email if you've won, and i'll tell u right now, i'll be damned if they actually respect that.
@Wheeloffortunefan999 - It does make you wonder. They did notify at least ONE winner though (Natalie something or other from somewhere in Ohio). It's on video here on YouTube. She mentions that they'd contacted her to tell her she won $1000, when she'd actually won $1 million. (And she looked like she was actually under 40 years old!)
you never win this they are paid actors

Those winners are paid actors, don't make me laugh. I'm sure there were millions of morons that fell for this trap. My mom was one too.

i think the people rejecting it were the actors.
