  • I ALWAYS TALK THAT THE CONVAIR LINERS ARE THE 737 OF THE 50 DECADE. TAKE A LOOK IN THE MAIN DOOR PASSENGER STAIRS. THE BOEING 737 HAVES A STAIRS TOO. DO YOU AGREE WITH ME?

  • This is a perfect plane for Las Vegas trips they should rebuild them for just this purpose for those people that would like to fly planes of history... I'm going to start a company damn it! I'm talking money!

  • Thank you for posting this. I've worked on every version of the Convair 340/440/580. I've never known a Convair mechanic who didn't love seeing these beautiful aircraft.

  • beautiful plane and video. Thanks for posting.

  • As the passengers disembarked,

did anyone see flip-flops or tank-tops?

  • yeah those were the days .... *sigh* today we´re getting orgasms from loving TSA attention rather than from hot airplanes ....

  • Passenger safety .. he he my grandfather was one of only 3 passengers to survive a stall chrash in the 440 - But nice video - good upload

  • sooo... shiny................

  • Look how every one wore suits and ladies wore a dress. I was never a Convair man but I always liked the looks of the Convair.

  • thanks for sharing this beautiful promo film !

  • 0:52 how clever ??

  • I flew Convairs many times on Delta Air Lines to and from Lexington, Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Atlanta. I always loved flying in them.

  • this is the first time I heard about a turbo prop plan will fly with one engine. :-)

  • They have to just incase of engine failures. Same with piston twins.

  • @erichmercado By the way, the aircraft in this video were piston twins, not turboprops (though some were later converted to turboprops).

  • My first plane ride was with my parents as a child in 1958 on an Allegheny Airlines Convair from Philipsburg PA to Pittsburgh. It was one of those perfect autumn days when the sky was clear blue and the trees were at the hight of their fall colors. I remember it like it was yesterday because that flight ignited a passion for aviation that became my career. I now work for Boeing on the 737 program. Thanks for sharing this !!

  • A beautiful film! Thanks for sharing it with us. The Convair prop liner was always one of my favorites. To me, there was never a more elegant, handsome aircraft.
