This means they will pay sky high insurance

@keicher09 Obama lowered taxes for the average American, and the money going to healthcare will be less than what you pay for insurance, so in fact you'll save money through those two things, and you may even get a warm fuzzy feeling from helping those less fortunate who cannot afford insurance (often due to pre-existing conditions).
As for the bailout, I'm not an economist so I could be wrong, but I would rather see the financial institutions that caused this fail than to see them rewarded.

This means he is going to have to raise taxes to pay for it. You also showed you do not understand the health care bill whatsoever. It doesn't help provide insurance for those with pre-existing conditions. It simply states insurance companies can no longer deny those with those conditions. This means they will pay sky high insurance

I used to be in the police never heard of someone I knew encountering a gun. The worst I encountered were knives, but even then rarely because there are very strict controls on that.
If you want to complain about civil liberties, then I respect your opinion. Just don't try to argue that the UK would be safer with guns when our society is only slightly less violent than yours, but far more violent than Switzerland.

Sure, if someone is breaking into your house and you hear them first you stand a good chance of being prepared, but then you find yourself in a shoot-out with a person, or even a gang, who perhaps only want to rob you. I would agree in that situation I would prefer to have a gun, but through myself having a gun it makes it far more likely the criminals would too, and I don't want that.

@firemanladder12 Currently, if someone breaks into my house, the worst they will feasably be armed with are knives, or not at all. This makes these encounters on average far less lethal. A burgler does not break in in order to do harm, it's purely for profit. Those instances you mention about people on raping/killing sprees are rare thankfully, because as you mention the physically disadvantaged don't stand much chance in those situations, but we are all safer on average as a result.
