@ferdia6 Ah yes, I started watching the movie, and got so bored, I stopped... But then again, that was kinda unfair for the film since I watched it on the plane...
I thought to myself, if the soundtrack is so well suited to the types of scenes/scenery, and it is great music in itself, and the surroundings are so lavish and interesting, why am I starting to drift off a bit and not care what is happening? It was pretentious and dull, I actually chuckled a bit after the son died... but anyway, what a great soundtrack it was

“Grand Pianola Music” is a pure minimal music, I suppose so. And this music might be one of the grandest music all around the minimal music.

I have some questions for all you fans :)
1. Who is the composer/ Who is the performer
2. What is the piece of music, opus number/info?
3. When was it written/When was it recorded
4. Where was it written (if known)/
5. Whats your opinion
Thanks :)

The composer is John Adams - I'm not sure of the performance.
The piece is "Grand Pianola Music" and this movement is the 2nd of 2 - "On the Dominant Divide" (this video says the wrong title of the movement).
It was composed in 1981!!
I LOVE this piece - I just performed it with the South Dakota Symphony as the mezzo-soprano voice part :)
