  • Reminds me of Wikked Lil Grrrls in the beginning.

  • awesome!

  • Did anyone noticed Joi Tribianni playing bass??

  • Gypsy jazz reminds me of Pixar films

  • @jass820 I know right! Glad I am not the one that gets a Pixar short film flashback everytime I hear Gypsy jazz

  • wow

  • оч круто

  • they are gypsy? (the guitars)

  • I love how this music is just an endless string that just goes on and on and on

  • joey tribbiani at the cello

  • unreal

  • I have called 20 guitar stores and not one of them even knows what a Gypsy Jazz guitar is, let alone carry them. am in the market for one and if anyone has any advice that would be greatly appreciated. the guys at Guitar Center do not even know who Django Reinhardt is!!! I guess if you don't wear a KFC bucket on your head while you play it's not real music.

  • i want to learn this style soo badly

  • Unbeliavable... Those guys are INSANE!

  • Excellent!

  • I'm now going to hang myself with the strings of my guitars.. that's the best I could do with them.

  • @RyanFalls Ha Ha, they are very good indeed. But you can get there also.

  • @1madaboutguitar Maybe, I still have a ways to go.

  • @RyanFalls Me too but im inspired, not discouraged. :)

  • damn, these dudes are raw. and btw this is the song from that movie Cholocat lol

  • So I play a lot of Latin Jazz, and I have a nylon for the that. I do have a steel string acoustic but I would like to get this sort of tone from it, is there a way I can achieve this without purchasing one of those guitars?

  • could anyone of you guys/girls tell me the name of the guitarists from right to left? thanks in advance

  • I'm a metal-head and I think this is awesome!

  • @Rowanthebeast a little gain and extreme drums and here it is

  • love it that my gipsy life .god bless you romale

  • If you are the featured guitarist slated to play Minor Swing at Django-Fest you have to be at the top...and these guys delivered. I played this 3 times just to hear the blazing triplets they are doing. Who ARE these guys?

  • @ChetArrista Dude on right is yorgui loeffler, i produced an instructional video for him, u can see on my youtube channel; middle guy is chriss campion, i produced his debut album on Hotclub Records, dude on the left is Steeve Laffont, I didn't do anything for him hahaha

  • after being annoyed with all the clapping, I find myself first glaring at the screen, then FIIIIIIINGERING the screeen! *BOOOOOM* with like 8 knuckles! (slams guitar on ground and WALKS away)

  • i really hate to say this but....the dude in the white shirt looks like Ronnie from the jersey shore and it's kinda wiggin me out cause i just pulled a tube

  • grew up listenin to my old grandad playin django bloody brilliant xx

  • The true beauty of Django's work is that he performed his solos with only two fingers.

    Like a boss.

  • Fucking great!

  • Quit well. I love it so much ~ great music

  • this Guy is goooooooooood...

  • there are no chugs, therefore i hate it. and he plays wayy too slow.

  • Well...time to sell all of my guitars....

  • sick shit

  • 19 people can't distinguish a quarter note from a blackhead.

  • Toma yyaaazz! Muy buena versión del grandioso Django. Muy pero que muy bonito. Un saludo.

  • Um yeah where's the tab for this? Lol

  • Speeds not everything, Still fucking talented.

  • quien dice no me gusta??? un sordo??

  • @MsArgentana Si jo pensio !!! Aie aie aie quellle belle musique =)

  • 4:02 ----> quote

  • BTW: Regards to two forgotten danish Getlemen: Svend Asmussen (violin) and one of the greatest bassplayers who have ever lived: Niels Henning Oersted Pedersen.

  • Reminds me of the old days with Paco, Al and John. ("Medeterean Sundance"). Quite honestly, I give a flying f... who's best. This is just GREAT. Give one of those heavy metal wankers a REAL guitar and see whats happen ;DD

  • @JacKass00001 Are you fucking serious, are you that uncultured in other genres that you just assum "heavy metal" guitarists can't do this kind of stuff, i love this music

but saying people like Tosin Abasi, Steve Vai or Batio couldn't pull off this kind of stuff is the most ignorant thing i have ever heard

  • @JacKass00001 Please look up Tosin Abasi.

  • @JacKass00001

... 'Heavy metal wankers'? What makes you say that?

  • @JacKass00001

Please check your ignorance at the door. Yes, these guys are fantastic and it doesn't matter who's better. Similarly, it does no good to say your preferred music is better than any others'. And Jimi Hendrix would melt both these fellows' faces right off.

  • @Yosef9438 Yeah Hendrix was always playing an accoustic, wasn't he?! Leave him outta your argument, it's invalid.

  • @Yosef9438 Jimi Hendrix is a legend. But he played a different genre of music. You cant use him in this context.

  • @JacKass00001 LOL at this fucking jackass douche

  • Does Chris Campion ever smile?

  • this video is bad because you have two guitar players that are efffectively playing a solo guitarist(original) which leaves room for error rather than improving thier own perfection.Django for ever!!!!

  • @joshdk08 You have some of reason for say that, and I think that the second guy is "the owner of the ball" like we say in Argentina, but he is not better guitar player

  • yeah Laffont!!!!

  • remind me of mafia 1

  • Now that's music in any language. Thanks guys - made my night.

  • i liked the lasts guy better than the first dude and WAAAY better than the second guy he was just cleaner in everything he did and he had more soul in his solo but that's just imo

  • 2:46 the 2nd guitarist looks like Ronny from Jersey Shore!!!

  • I just feel fucking alive listening that stuff!! thank you guys to go that far!!

  • Great performance!!!! Thank You!

  • that is absolutely amazing. i have been playing guitar for 10 years and I'm still miles behind these guys

  • @xterminatorofficial difference is between is you and this people is because this people is Gypsy and this people have soul for music sorry.... HAVE LUCK

  • @ludinovosadjanin inspiration is a catalyst for improvement, i look forward to proving you wrong

  • ...wow... I don't even know what to say. I have been playing guitar for about 8 year and have never seen some junk like that.

  • @Instrumentalmike just hit your self with one of your instrumentals

  • i dont give a shit about the guitar players i wana see a solo by someone on the triangle lol

  • This just made my willy move

  • A eso le llamo hacerse mierda la muñeca y los dedos tocando!!!

  • huuuu,,,wansinsgiterreros !!!!!

  • Super Mario Bros. 2 brought me here. I love the internets.

  • AND he has a deeper theoretical knowledge by the sound of it, more melody variations to draw on and I hear every kind of diatonic note in his solo, BRAVO!!

  • At the end of the day, fast AND expressive tonal qualities require more control and skill from the player, however then 1st two are fast yes but in terms of tonal quality per note I find the 3rd player to be the most expressive and puts more emphasis on colouring every note with some sort of vibrato or trill, which I find to be more tasteful. Yngwie Malmsteem is a great example of fast, technical expressive playing.

  • i give up

  • wonderful.

  • for some reason i feel like the third solo made more sense..............

    they're all AMAZING guitar players

  • @arcainjust

Fapy Lafertin who is one of the greatest Gypsy guitarists in my opinion said something very interesting on the subject. Look up Samois 2010 Fapy Lafertin 1 of 4 here.

  • @arcainjust

Believe me, I can hear the melody in what they are playing, I am not criticizing their ability to express themselves, and fast playing can be very musical, and I am not against it. I grew up listening to my father's jazz records and I listened to Charlie Parker, who was perhaps the most technically gifted saxaphone player ever in terms of speed and lyricism. But ultimately if you break down one of his solos and analyze it the sheer amount of idea is incredible.

  • a la mierda!

  • 1:14 WTF?!?! O_O

  • Dotati di una completa tecnica nel genere e di un talento innato, questi tre sono le copie del vecchio Django.

    Bravi!

  • Are these guys from another Galaxy? Never seen that speed, energy and precision like this!!!

  • Who is disliking this.........

  • Excelentes guitarristas.

  • Excelente

  • Excelente

  • @Raxmole You have a good ear. Django, for all his virtuosity, was, as another great gypsy guitarist said, " a composer who improvised on the guitar" not just a guitar player. His later years showed a subtlety and a finess that is sadly lacking in many modern players. Less is more! That's not to say that he couldn't tear it up when he wanted to. Listen to the 1947 recording of Babik, or Impromptu. Lightening speed, glissando, scales, arpeggios, pour out of his instrument but still it's musical!

  • @mintygreen no.. less is not more..more is not more either..

what is really more is the personal expression of a player..that differs with their personal identity..

in the end there is no such thing is melodic standardization what is melodic to you can sound utterly boring to someone else...and the opposite can be true...just let players play how they express themselves it may amuse you it may not amuse you musically....and that differs form one player to the other.

  • Django on steroids.

  • imho the third one was better ... its like he's telling a story not just showing how well he knows scales

  • Comment removed

  • @mintygreen i play guitar myself ... thats why i know how important feeling is.... its really easy to end up in the 'fast lane' and sound like every other guitarist who knows the scales. i think that ultimately there should be a balance between technicality and shear feeling :) .. thats why i liked the third guitarist better :)) thanks for your reply

  • @Raxmole in reality it is quite the opposite feeling is a personal component and is expressed in many methods many of those who proclaim to have good ears lie about this because they think *he is just playing fast* because they can't see the MELODY in that speed of course i'm not saying that everyone should play fast i'm saying that if speed is the way you express yourself then you should..and i see the first two players do just that

  • Pretty damn impressive if I must say so.

Also, of course it's easy for a few of you to talk trash. speed contest, no soul, inferiority complexes etc., etc. I've noticed that these opinions are quite common among talent-less AND soul-less musician hacks.

  • One of the most best version for Minor swing, sjoeka tjawe

  • are guitars steel string or nylon???

  • @guillotinedeath Nylon.

  • @guillotinedeath Copper-wound silver plated ones, specially designed for this sort of guitar playing.

  • is the lead improv??

  • @wirlysourpineapples yes most of the times when it comes to jazz :D

  • @MrRockismypassion thanks for the info

  • @wirlysourpineapples you're wlecome :D

  • It's just telling us "You should practice a little more" !

  • !!

  • Ok, who put those three prodigies together?

I better not find a video where you divide by zero

  • I still can't understand how some people reach that level...

  • These guys are acoustic shredders..

  • he gets paid by the note!! lol

  • Why is there a woman in the Artist picture box?

  • Супперр)))))))))))))))))

  • dat economy picking

  • Super boring jam. The 2 first guy just went quote the whole Django solo and then throw in some of the most mindless arpeggio runs, poor phrasing and cliche crowd pleaser licks. Only the last guy actually did take his time to play music. This is equivalent to shredders have nothing to do with jazz.

  • @CroissantOrange Fully agree. Django must be turning in his grave. This is a speed contest, not music. No feelings and no soul.

  • @jmgibon you fail at understanding the basic concept of musical development this music has a LOT of soul in it your ears are just too poor to feel it

  • @CroissantOrange i agree with you, still minor swing keeps on being a sort of benchmark standard for most gipsy players, since the structure is very plain; in fact the melody played by the third guy is a very common one, played by many players. In the end many gipsy players play the same licks every time, and that's because the traditional learning process it's oral transmission and imitation. Apart from this i agree, the only player with a minimum o verve is the third one.

  • @CroissantOrange i'm sorry you just don't have the ears to understand the beauty in this solo

  • @arcainjust Which solo? There's 3 of them. And what ears? Your ears of feces? Or you mean ears like dog's that could catch more frequency? And "understand the beauty"? Who taught you to make vain noise like that? Give me a fucking break. You animals don't get one thing that in the world of learned men, we have a meta process call critical thinking which involve different organs including something we call brains. You lobotomized dog do not impress me with your ears and barks.

  • Brilliant !!! Thank's ! Muchas gracias !!!!

  • 3:15 = wow amazingly clean arpegios

  • How you play so fast on acoustic is amazing! I'm so slow on electric!

  • This is very inspirational. Makes me wanna practice more!

  • @LfunkeyA even though I agree with you that players like steve vai are extremely technically proficent and could shred on any guitar, I believe that they lack the ability to play melodically (having seen steve vai 2x) and most of what they play sounds like they're entering a contest and competing for something rather than creating art and appreciating music. I'm not saying that they're bad or even that they're not great, but because they always play like they're trying to impress someone more t

  • Brilliant! I love you guys!

  • Mind Blowing.

  • try with two finger.....

  • 1:20 onwards makes me truly feel what music is about, passion, love and a foot tapping good time <3 Jazz <3

  • @Cappilus dude look at chris broderick classical guitar peices....it will bblow your mind

  • Awesome

  • Wonderful

  • I'm wondering what do "shredders" have to say about this! I guess manouche guitar has shut their bloody poser mouths!!!

  • @Capillus there a lot of "shredders" that are influenced by this style and respect it. And you should probably do some research on "shred guitarists" because they're not all "posers" and a lot of them have technical ability that puts manouche's to shame. Nothing against this player at all, hes great.

  • @mooping5 I beg to differ on this matter. I really do think that shredders are a bunch of posers who use guitars with super narrow necks, very light gauge strings and loads of distortion for sustain. And I've done my research for some years now. Give a shredder a guitar with no amplification and heavy strings and you get yourself a novice. Joe Satriani is the only exception because he really knows his art and his phrasing is indeed substantial. The rest of them are kids with inferiority complex.

  • @Capillus Wow you truly are an ignorant douchebag. First off, if you think that shredders use light gauge strings and high distortion to hide there mistakes and make it easier for them to play then your are a fucking idiot. Second, I guess Frank Gambale and Allan Holdsworth (to name a couple) are posers in your opinion. And the fact you mentioned Joe Satriani is hilarious. That's quite some research you did.

  • @mooping5 I thought we were having a normal conversation until you called me a douchebag. In the same respect, I really hope the worst for you and your family, especially terminal illness of any kind.

  • @Capillus Sorry didn't know that would piss you off so much.

  • @Capillus

steve vai? paul gilbert? to some extent, malmsteen? etc. sure there is a lot of posing, but on a technical level they can be good on any guitar.

  • @Capillus I'm sorry, but your deduction is desultory. Joe Satriani is an legendary guitarist, but so are the many "shredders with distortion" out there. I will not name any because it's apparent you need to do a little more searching on your part in regards to the prodigal guitarists of the heavier genres that, you know, exist. Sooooo, please retract your biased statement and come back later. With all due respect, thanks.

  • What is the name of the third guitarist?

  • I LOVE this group!

  • Try putting this in Guitar Hero. lol

  • Anyone got the TAB for this video?

  • sooo good!!

  • Just when I thought I was getting good at the guitar I stumble upon this... back to the closet for you my old 6-string friend

  • @russelloneill1980

    this should inspire you!

  • @russelloneill1980 Dude the real Django played this w 2fingers. Just play passionately. Don't worry about anything else.

  • @russelloneill1980 falsche einstellung (deswegen der dislike) nie aufgeben

  • @russelloneill1980 no don't do that! keep going and you can play this. it just takes practice and a few guys with real soul

  • @russelloneill1980 You'd better not even look up Allan Holdsworth then, haha. You will want to burn your guitar afterwards.

  • @Yarsh52 .... daaaamn!

  • Theres exactly 100 likes for each dislike as of 11/07/2011

  • @TheLazySiren....

this means for every 100 people theres 1 poor deaf bugga .... the odds aren't bad

    :)

  • The time stops at 1:47 - 2:04

  • Wow this an awesome take on Minor Swing. Those lads really did a great job.

  • Brilliant Interpretation!!! It warm up my blood!!!

  • Look! It's Joey in the bass line! XD

  • :O

  • i like this

  • Incredibili!

  • Fantastic.TY for posting.

  • Hi, I live in Strasbourg(France), that is a "nest" of gipsys musicians and it is always a real pleasure to hear them play. We had a big gipsy's swing festival but the UMP(fuck'em up!!) mayor made stop it. Gipsy's music is like bird songs, free and always happy, it put a BIG FUCKIN'SUN in your heart. Unfortunately, some people hate birds because they're free and they fly(and make you fly) higher than the clouds. Sorry for my poor english, I'm just a froggy :p

  • Django not only played, not only made it up but he played this on a fret board! same speed and if not more perfectly! he did it with 2 fingers! amazing

  • Very nice feeling.True musicians.

  • the best evidence for proving that "to be good you need to have 100% correct technique" is bullshit. Awesome stuff.

  • @culltim an exuse made by people who cant learn scales

  • he lost the ligaments in two fingers from being burnt in the caravan fire. he could still use them just not very well.

  • I don't understand which is the reason of those 15 unlikes... what do they have in the head?

  • 03:44 - nothing else to say

  • these guys are crazyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! :))))
