  • Vrrooom rufff...vrrrrrooom ruff..sounds like a dog stuck in there..

  • ok. ive read that u couldnt use a BOV because it needs to recirculate back into the intake, i think it said because of the MAF. now if u have a BOV that recirculates just like the BPV does. it should be fine right? and what would i need to change? like could i just replace the BPV with the BOV?

  • thats not compressor surge u can clearly tell the difference in surge and recirculating your bov...sounds sick to me which bov setup did u like best i viewed some of your other videos

  • I will like to know the full name of your bov and how you do to make it recirculate. It's sounds really nice !

  • That noise is not the bov is the compresion surge/flutter or the bov is to small :P

  • Even recirculated the type S should have a whistle. You may have to loosten it up. Like you, my RS popped off nicely when vented, but gave me a flutter when recirculated.

  • where is the high pitch sound? type s is suppose to sound high pitch.

  • friend of mine has a protege an his sounds exactly the same as that. i personally like that sound ...an his turbo has not failed he has been running that setup with a quite a few mods... he bought the car new in 03 never replaced the turbo.... still boosts like crazy. i have a greddy type s on a dsm an it doesnt sound anything like that tho real high pitched. i still say all should buy a hks ssq nuthin better my opinion.

  • MSP's had a very poorly designed turbo-charging system. The "turkey call" would happen pulling the car off the lot. A Cold Air Intake made it much louder. I still miss the sound of this car. As poorly as it was designed, it's one of the few cars I'd still like to drive.

  • @MrPaulrevere oops. Double-post ftl.

  • Comment removed

  • sounds like a dog barking HAHAHAHAHA

  • i don't care what you all say thats sounds sick.. up there with the ssq bov

  • whats better recirculated or vented?

  • it depends what your ecu is tuned for... for recirculated the ecu it expecting the air to be her so it will add fuel. vented, the ecu wont give more fuel so it has the vent the air not to run the engine lean.

  • I love that HKS supra sound it does, but in your case it's also because the spring is way too hard and that sound is actually a compressor surge.

Moreover, if it's so loud in full boost at relatively low rev (Im not sure if you went higher than 3000rpm or so) you will wreck your turbo for sure in full boost at 6000rpm.

  • im sure your neighbors love you lol

  • i thouhg it was a dog barking lol

  • well, recirculated bovs should not really make too much sound, thats the whole point, some people just don't wanna hear the noise from an open one. that flutter noise sounds like you got some compressor surge

  • it doesn't work properly - spring is too hard - you're killin' your turbo

  • sounds like crap I have to agree with lukirc.

  • man, i have a greddy type s original from japan... and dont sound like that.... what i need to do?

  • damn that sounds real nice..

is yours the blue Type S BOV??

  • this is not a type S bov. i have one on my car and it makes a high pitch wristle when vta

in recirc. its sound more like a animated whistle like kinda like what the BOV's sound like on the Video game Gran Turismo 2

but i can make it sound like the whistle in vta mode if i dont pop it off when im in ful boost

    this is a knock off

  • only resion its sturring is cuz its the bolt on top is tight and might have a very hard spring in it to...

  • cheap knock off ones from ebay

  • good one retard, its the legit type-S. maybe you're just used to buying the cheap chinese shit that you can't tell the real from the fake.

  • ripped.

  • sorry dude.. flutter = two things. 1) way too tight and your surging, or 2) cheap knock off. a Type-S has a very, very high pitch PSSST. Almost sounds like two swords banging against each other. the type RS is the WHOOSSH sound. your turkey flutter crap is exactly that, crap.

  • did you watch the video of the BOV vented? your opinion is not valid!

  • so what if it's vented? doesn't mean anything is coming out.

that flutter you hear is the air surge back into the turbo.

  • @justinlansdale yo don't let anyone talking shit bother you.....like my grandpapy always says....haters gone hate day ya thang

  • @lukirc I love how people know nothing about these cars and the stuff BS in comments. The compressor surge was a design flaw and happened bone-stock, pulling out of the dealer's lot.

  • sounds like someone just hit a dog or something :( i like the turboxs h way better

  • the txs is the worst bov. it breaks and leaks SOOO bad

  • wow i was really considering to vta but seeing as how you can still hear it i think i will recirculate but can you hear it at low boost?

  • sounds like a bird chirp

  • A happy and sweet sounding turbo! Nice protege!

  • for being recirculated that thing sounds so freakin sweet! Loud for recirculated!

  • Recirculated my ass, that things loud as

  • sounds great, nice cf hood, that's a sweet piece.

  • Actually that sounds pretty good for a recirculated bov. In my opinion it sounds more like the new Greddy Type RS or the Modded Stock BPV.

  • boooooooooooooooost word!

  • It sounds good but not like a Greddy Type S. That sounds more like the HKS ssqbov. Nice though!

  • cant really hear exhasut

  • of course you can't hear the exhaust. A sp2 is meant to be quiet.

  • cant really hear exhasut

  • Needs more booooooooooooost!
