  • Didn't know about this man, what a great player! Thanks for posting.

  • Man, this is one of the hippest players all around. I'm a professional bassist in Austin, and let me tell you..., I am playing right now with a "butt-load" of Bawmer musicians who now live in the ATX. Organ trios are the rave right now in the ATX. I wish that if these guys are still around, COME ON DOWN!!!!!

  • wow.. awesome!

  • killer player! huge sound! good music!

  • “The Madison” (Amy, #804), recorded by Al Brown & The Tunetoppers - (Al Brown almost on the spot composed a tune, added some lyrics, and engaged Cookie Brown (no relation) to do the vocal chores. Hastily recorded (with renowned area horn man, Mickey Fields, on piano) at a studio at the Alameda and Cold Spring Lane) - Blues Art Journal, Fall 2009

  • Recorded live as one of the legendary Left Bank sessions in Baltimore – including Groove Holmes on Hammond, George Freeman on guitar, & Billy Jackson on drums...also Calvin Vaughn on organ and Don Bowie on drums. The album features one very long jam session number titled "Left Bank Cook Out" – and long takes on "Straight No Chaser" and "Lover Man – plus cool takes on "Light My Fire" and "Little Green Apples" - Dusty Groove America
