Now for my real comment. The song is "Tears Of Rage", written by Bob Dylan and Richard Manuel and featured on "The Music From Big Pink" by The Band. The recording starts in the middle of the song after the first verse.
I'm an idiot. I made the comment to what I thought was the House Of The Rising Sun while the video was loading. Now I see it's another song entirely recorded earlier in the day.
What I said is true and I believe Billy did post the House Of The Rising Sun. But this song ain't it.
Bob Dylan did play this song on his first album. But he didn't write it. In fact nobody knows who wrote it, it's a true traditional blues.
Scholars have also searched the history of New Orleans trying to locate the Rising Sun and never have. So maybe there really was a House of the Rising Sun and maybe it exists only in song.
I want to thank Billy for playing on this with The Mudcats and for making and posting the video.
