IN total war such as WW2, there's no such thing as civies in war. Total war as with WW1 and WW2 and not low intensity wars such as Iraq. Civvies contribute to the nations struggle so whilst it maybe uneasy to target civvies...there's usually a strategical rason for doing so. Wow all the people and negativity. This was a war. Innocents were killed on both sides. If you didn't know all military bases have spouses and dependents on them. The attacks were inhumane. From both sides. Women and children killed on American soil and more in Japan. Both sides have to take responsibility for what happened. Japan killed Americans on a sneak attack and America returned the favor. When you bring people not in the war to the war everyone suffers because of retaliation!

What struck me from this video is how small those explosions were compared to the nuks they tested later during the cold war. God help anyone that receives one of the new and improved versions.

When I think of the men aboard the USS Arizona lying in their Water Graves the cowardly Japanese military sent them to , I'm glad so many other American GI's didn't have to die as well. In the context of history, which would you have preferred? A few hundred thousand, or many more millions dead from a full scale invasion?
Japan had no intention of stopping the war. Either way the results were going to be catastrophic.

@Ayuyoukou i have to interrupt and say that while yes the civilians and majority of the people at hiroshima did not deserve this there were people there that did. and im not saying that its good to kill 10000 people to punish one guilty person but it wasnt like they just decided one day to drop it. this was a retaliation tactic because of pearl harbor. there were a lot of innocent people there that died too. the truth is that war is a nasty thing.

@queenpoo01 When a nation was at war with a nation regardless of victims, innocents, etc. it's an act of war by international law. Always. It may be terrorism in a sense but the same time it's not. What make so different when Brits bombing Dresden? 1st: 1943 Hamburg housed 90,000 civilians workers. 50,000 of them were killed. Since Hiroshima and Nagasaki housed the same numbers as Hamburg, they are considered target by GC. Truth can be unpopular sometime but u have to take it.

IN total war such as WW2, there's no such thing as civies in war. Total war as with WW1 and WW2 and not low intensity wars such as Iraq. Civvies contribute to the nations struggle so whilst it maybe uneasy to target civvies...there's usually a strategical rason for doing so. @5150entertainment I don't think you can compare them. 2,400 military personnel were killed at pearl harbour and they sank 16 ships. Which as a military attack goes is pretty successful. When the US bombed Japan it killed 240,000 people, mostly civilians. You can say the Japanese were insane or whatever, but 100 fold civilian casualties as "collateral damage" for an attack on a military base (which America was warned about). Maybe if the americans were bombed themselves you'd think before typing

and btw, japan tried to be colonial state, but it failed to be when the allies had their asses kicked in WW2. Europeans colonization was over 400 years so it's complicated. Japan was only 14 years when they invade Manchuria and try to conquer all of Asia. Which it failed. You saying that japan don't need to apologize, then maybe US don't need to do that either. Still, the Hiroshima bombing was the end of something bad. Bad end though. The world will never see a war as fatal as WW2. The US bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki not to have any intention kill civilians. Mostly these cities are mainly singled out as military bases and ports. Killing innocents is regrettable but according to your logic it's like saying the allied bombing in Germany and Tokyo was a war crimes which also killed innocents as well. I would like to say something to all the people hating on everyone out there. Yeah, america has done some pretty terrible things. but you know what? we learn from our mistakes and hopefully other countries learn from ours as well. It's really easy to place the blame on someone else saying they did this or they did that but really theres enough blame to go around i think. No one is asking you to forget what happened at Hiroshima or Nagasaki. we're asking you to learn from it and prevent it.

The USA etc. were going to launch a massive invasion of Japan, during which invasion many hundreds of thousands of more people including Jap. would have died than died in the use of the 2-A-bombs. The Jap. killed at least 15-million Chinese & millions of other Asians etc. Jap. would not surrender whan offered the chance several times. Stalin refused to accept Jap. approaches for peace: too bad Japan. 10-A-bombs wouldn't have been enough to equal what the Jap. did in China & the rest of Asia.
