  • you could have bought medicine!

  • I found in my experiments that if u have a small oscar with a pair of large convicts. that when he gets bigger he wont be as aggresive. But there are those other exceptions.

  • Will your oscar hurt other fishes when it grown bigger?

  • @yeohwl91 everyone you ask will give you a different answer. Some oscars have to be kept alone due to their aggression levels, but others work well as a community fish. You basically just have to cross your fingers. Mine loves its tank mates, and even protects some of the smaller fish from my blood parrot (he's an asshole).

  • how is the oscar i hope it didnt eat the angelfish

  • What size tank was that?

  • beautiful fish and tank i have the same fish as u exept the bala shark

  • Randomness0014 that big enough

  • Did the Oscar harass the Gourami and Angel when he got bigger?

  • I want to get an oscar, but I have a 56g collumn tank and I dont know if that would be to small............

  • i love my tiger oscars

  • you have a cool tank!how much tiem took the oscar to grow to 11"??i bet the gurami is still alive and may be the angelfish, arent they??

  • my oscar is only like 2 and a half inches but im always scared when i do this i hate the way it feels when he gets my fingers

  • nice oscar . check out my video for my oscar :]

  • i want to buy an oscar but im not sure if a fully grown one can live in a 10-30 gallon tank.

  • @bmx7272 no man a oscar will need at least a 75 gallon. Those size tanks would work fine if you were to just upgrade when it gets bigger.

  • @bmx7272 ya definitly not

  • @bmx7272 Doesnt need 75. 55 atleast tho. Id pair it up with a pleco. thats what i have they get along. My fish is getting pretty big :)

  • @Youregoisprego69 55 gal i think is way too small i have 3. the people at the petstore said they would get up to 10 inches

mine are about 15 now and is still growing.

  • your oscar looks like mine.

  • your angelfish are WAYYYY active then mine.they used to eat but they died like after 2 months ONLY!!!!!i was so sad i feel like crying.i always cry when my fish die

  • @egg766 She was more active but, once her mate died not as much.

  • @egg766 thats ok i cried when my oscar died

  • its a snakeskin

  • its alot more fun when your oscar is 11in long

  • what fish is that long one?

  • @maxima423

    Its a snakeskin gourami

  • cool!my tiger oscar jumps for pellets too!

  • u should get a glass top even while he's small. while he appears to have a consistant jump... i bet you he can jump 10x higher than that if he gets panicked. One time my bichir jumped out of a shallow tupperware bowl i had him in and he landed in the fish tank I was trying to transport him in... he got SOOOO MUCH AIR!!! I thought the water impact alone would injure him but he's alive.

  • My oscar just did this and almost bit me! I was not expecting it. I have only had him for about 2 weeks. I am going to train him but not to jump. I don't need a dead fish on my floor. He will be a soccer player instead. I guess he is scared of the feeding wand, but not of my hand.

  • Is that a pearl gourami next to the oscar and angelfish?

  • that's exactly what i was going to say!

  • u souldnt do that

  • why not??

i mean da fish wont fall n die in da air lool

    so y not?

  • mine attemped suicide

  • my oscar jumped out 1 time while i was feeding it.. it didnt die though bcuz i put rite back (:

  • It is a bad habit and shouldn't be encouraged. I keep a weight on the lid of my tank so my O doesn't jump out, sometimes during the night something will startle him and he'll jump out of the water. If it wasn't for the weight he'd probably be dead by now.

  • @sam805236 Yep. It's a cool looking trick but then they learn to jump and you really have to keep the cover on tight if your oscar gets a taste for jumping...

  • how do i get my bigger oscars to stop picking on my lil oscars ??? plz reply

  • mine jumped up

    popped the lid off

    and then jumped out

found him in the morning looking out the sliding glass door

    well

least that was the last activity he was doing before he died ;|

  • my 2 oscar died but how can you learn the fish to jump.?

  • I don't know just one day jumped for food and it stuck. I should warn you that its a bad habit and shouldn't be encourage as when bigger may end up on the floor

  • @BichirAddict I said I would not train my fish to do it.... and it was a bad idea. Really you just have to tease them and they wil. I was no quick enough to feed him today and the food stuck to my finger. He had to use his tail to knock himself back in the tank. His head was all the was over the edge flying toward me! And I have about 3 inches between the water and the top of the tank as a buffer.

  • how big is that tank and what's in it?

  • It's a 55 gallon 48"Lx12"Wx23"H

The fish you see are tiger oscar, bala shark, snakeskin gourami, silver angelfish, multiple corys, silver dollars and a few more I forgot I know

  • wow... that is so much just for a 55 gallon... the fish are ok living like that? 55 gallons is typical for just one oscar.

  • (cry) pity that oscar waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..................you remind me of my dead clown knife fish and my other fish waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!(cry)

  • rip oscar :(

did the angelfish work with the oscar long term?

it would be nice to mix my angelfish with my oscar, but i don't want to risk them dying one night

  • oscar eventually killed the angel but, lived in harmony for about a 1 year

  • i have oscars mixed with convicts, when the oscar gets bigger he'll end up killing them coz he thinks he'll get more food

  • i know how ya feel, i lost my oscar to a fungus infection too.

  • nice tank setup :). kool oscar

  • thanks but, like said before video is almost 2 years old and has change to a bichir ruled tank. Oscar passed away in November at 11"

  • lol i got a tiger oscar and red oscar my tiger oscar jumps alot is there anyway to make them stop or is it a habit and my red oscar is 4 inches and tiger oscar is 3 inches but my tiger is lik 50 times more active and some times my red oscar jump but only an inch out of the water

  • watch out, i used to do that and my oscar jumped out and landed on the floor, i caught him on the rebound though....then he jumped out of my hands.....he sulked for an hour after that, i feel realy bad

  • dud you should sak somthink that commet on this you should not feed him then when hes really hugre he will have no choice but to jump for his food then he will learn that when he jumps he gets a trick or food

  • no problem man

ive seen some comments on here saying you cant mix angelfish with oscars, uhhh, they are both part of the cichlid family!! fuckin idiots go and whine about too small tanks and wrong compatiblity and your video shows that you can put them together

    cool oscar fish though!!!!

  • oscars arent really aggressive, they will just eat anything that fits in their mouth

this guy know his shit, so everyone shut the fuck up and let him do watever the fuck he wants to dickheads!

  • thanks for comment GNROX401 I can't stand assholes who think the know everything and know nowthing about it at all.

  • ForumBoosters why should you mix the fish together if all the fish I have in that tank have grown out and split into 2 tanks and I didn't have any diease in that tank with all those fish in it. The tank ran like that for 3 years no problems. So shutup and leave me alone.

  • b bi bit bitch

  • Ladies and Gentlemen do not mix the above fish together ! Information on Fish is available at TheExoticFish . com

  • mine is about the same size

    check him out

  • my oscar is so un aggressive. it is just his personality. what kind of groumi is that, if it is not a giant gourami how did you get it to be so big. i found out that the more oscars in a tank the more aggresive it gets. my tank is ran by a cray fish. he is 1.5 inches long and the oscar is 3 or 4 inches long, and my iredescent shark avoids every one

  • It's a snakeskin gourami gets to 7-8"

  • when the oscer gets big it will eat the cray fish i have a 17inch oscer and it ate my 10inch crayfish

  • omg man how your oscar live with angel fish?? i had 4 years old angel fish and i add 2 little oscar and they kill my fish :(

  • 1 oscar is very un aggressive. 2 oscars are super aggressive, 3 oscars are aggressive, 4 oscars are kinda aggressive, 5 oscars are not very aggresssive, and 6+ are not aggressive.

  • I only have one Oscar, I feed him well but he's still killed one of my (Large) angelfish, had to rehome the other two.

I'm worried about my Pictus cat, my Algae Eater and my two Head Standers, but I don't think the Severum or the Pleccys will have a problem...

Really don't want to give up my Oscar though, he's great.

  • oscars and plecos get along great

    i had 3 12" oscars with 1 pleco

now i have 2 baby oscars with a new pleco

the dont have problems with each other

  • My red oscar does that. He dominates his tank mate, an albino? oscar that's bigger than him...

  • oh im sorry to hear that i just bought 1 today check out my new video and leave me a comment

  • hey man how did u get him to do that?

  • He had done it since I got him.

Sadly he is no longer with us.

  • The little O will get so used to jumping that one day you'll find it dead on the floor - just a warning. Keep the lid weighted down.

  • My oscar "Bonnie" jumps evey day for her food sometimes nearly out of the tank...She goes mad for earth worms.

  • feed em with prawn from the fish market. its a little cheaper that way.

  • what shuld i feed my oscar on a dialy basis , they dont like pellets or flake food and only want meal worms, some advice plz.

  • oscars are more of a pet than any other fish

  • ur right

  • you know your other fish will die when that oscar gets big...

  • ur 100% right man

  • im not shuting you down pal,but both my oscars do that every time i feed them, sometimes they jump half way out of the water with a good run-and-go lol

  • oscars are know for jumping

  • how do you get them to juump??

  • Did it since I bought him just hold food above water thats all I did.

  • also if you look in some pets shops they say have a good lid so the oscar wont jump out of the water. thats what they told me anyway

  • haha its like my oscar except it jumps out of the tank when fed. Im surprised the older oscar wouldn't copy the younger one.

  • hey i have a question. i just bought 2 oscar tiger but i'm getting my 50 gallon tank ready. So i put my oscar tiger in a 10 gallon tank temporally for about 1 week now. And one of them is starting to attack the other one. i dont know why its happening is it becasue there not enough room? or well they keep doing it when they're in the 50 gal tank?

the oscars are about 3 inches long.

  • Is problem is because of one being dominant over the other. Get rid of one of them and shall be fine a 50 gallon will only be able to support 1 oscar at most.

  • yeah i gave one away to a friend of mine that has a 80 gallon just sitting there and evaporating. Is it true that they also attack each other when its crowded and they dont have enough room?

  • Possibly would still only keep that one in your 50. Could you upload a video of your tank or join in on monsterfishkeepers. com and post pictures will not regret joining in with tons of useful information and great advice.

  • Thanks changed tank alot in between a year.

The Gourami is a snakeskin Gourami and the 2 fish at the end I believe your talking about are the big silver ones right. If so there called Silver Dollars. look At my other videos see how much it's changed

  • I love your tank. What kind of gourmi is that its huge. And what are those two fish that come in at the end?

  • Whoa, neat fish!

  • I did this withy mine, tyhe problem is hes now 8 inches and jumps whenever u put ur fingers near tyhe tank

  • cool

  • lovely oscar go on my vids and see my oscars =D

  • go on me and see my baby oscar fish their lovely so r ures =D

  • mine jumps for its food also my wife recently got over her fear of being bit and started doing it too.

  • My tiger oscar is now 10 inches and he still jumps for his pellets

  • my 5" oscar used to jump out for his pellets too, until one time he got too excited and jumped too high and landed on the floor. Ever since, he has refused to jump. hahaha

  • lol

  • how did you trean him i can get mine to do that

  • Didn't train him he has done it since I got him.

  • Yes he is still in that tank but is moving with the silver dollars to another 55 gallon.

Will try and get an video check other videos first

  • Thanks and as you can see that the video is 5 months old and he has grown to about 9" so I now avoid doing this but will hopfully get a video of just feeding time. When he attacks the surface with his mouth wide open

  • is he still in that tank? i have no idea how mch space they need

  • Cheeky little bugger. Mine used to do that until he got bigger. He loves blow flies and used to jump for those. Now he just splashes me if I ignore him for too long!!

  • did it from the start

  • how the hell do u teach em to do that?

I got a 2" tiger but he doesnt jump out...

    lol

  • Thats when he was 2" he is now 8" don't do this any more.

  • mine jumps like that 2 when I feed it. Pisses me off cuz he gets me all wet and he can't wait to eat

  • Lol my oscar used to jump outa the tank when we would feed him dried crill

  • I used to do the same thing with an 8" Albino Red Oscar and one day she jumped out of the tank lolol I put her back in and 2 seconds later she was begging for food. Oscar's are hungry fish!!

  • If you just want to see a video of my peacock eel just message me.

  • Was in the middle of a water change.

  • Darn he's a good jumper! I didnt see the Peacock eel though... ah well, The water was a little low, do you kepp it that way or are you plauged by the constant evaporation?
