I'm sure some theist will eventually come around and give you the standard response that God is above our morals and we cannot understand his divine will and whatever goes on is beyond our comprehension and it is not for us to questions, etc etc... This has been going on for so long, they just seem to have built up a nice little stockpile of ambiguous and inconclusive answers that avoid facing up to things when presented with fallacies or moral questioning.
really good points man, I love the quote you used proved you understand what you are talking about, but remember the difference between Theology and Mythology is whether or not people believe it. so why don't people worship the works of Homer speaking of old gods and fallen heroes?
In dealing with some YT xians [shockofgod & nephilimfree for 2], the response they give to questions like this is basically as follows: anyone killed or ordered killed by god was utterly deserving of their horrendous fate.
Hell, I brought up elisha & the bears and was told by shock, as he laughed [i was in his 'radio show' chat room] that the kids got gods justice for 'mocking a prophet of THE LOOOORD!'
And it's people like that that say atheism is immoral madness.
