  • Great detailed video, i could not use the projector at all. I had to have 2 cold fans blowing constantly and high alt mode on just to get it to work, then if somebody opened the door to the other room it would go to 16 bit mode and take ages to cool down.

Now it works a treat, i can have heating on and high alt mode off!

    It's like a new projector :)

Please keep the video up as it took ages finding a solution, not much help out there for people.

    Big thank you :D

  • @DavidBrown1973 Sure thing.

  • Hi, is it possible that after doing this 3 or 4 times this may stop fixing the problem? It used to do the trick but now mine goes almost instantly into 'green 16bit mode' as I like to call it! It then only works with high altitude mode on... Any ideas? Thanks.

  • @weterpalters I've no clue. It's all up to you. Good luck.

  • This fixed the color banding issue on my Optoma HD20. THANKS!!!! Looks great now!

  • HD200X of course...

  • I cant loosen the cover at all....Its stuck...I havent even seen the the ribbon cable...And yes, its the HS200X model.... It is only the 3 skrews under the projector that have to be loosened? SSorry about my english, but im from Norway...

  • @MrToro1985 You should be able to pry it open. It might just be too tight.

  • How do u get to open the projector? I have taken out the 3 screws, and taken off the focus wheel....but cant get the top of the projector off. please answer me.

  • @MrToro1985 What exactly do you mean? How much can you get the cover off? Is it the ribbon cable? Can you pry the cover open or not? Make sure it's the same model: HD200X.

  • extremely helpful guide! Fixed the color wheel on my hd20 yesterday using this guide. The projector is good as new now.

  • @theadambengtsson At least for another 2000 hrs, anyway. Milage may vary.

  • @christalys Hmmm. I'm guessing that "a lot" is equal to "so much".
