Wel there is something new everyday it itwould seem,i loved Susan in the 60s but i have to admit that i never bought her records, therefore this is the first time i have heard this song and what a belter it is,i well like it very busy, beaty song full of life and bounci am sure it would have done well as an A side,Boney M brought out Rivers of Babylon but i always preferred Brown girl in the ring which was its B side, thanks Basil fantastic song and what a great looking singer,Viagra on legs..lol!
Another winner, Sir Basil! Great production and superb singing by Miss Maughan. And the drummer....well, he (or she) sure earned their paycheque that day!
Great production and version...kind of miss the high note Diane Renay hits at the fade of the original, but Susan's vocal is a lot stronger...thanks for this surprise to me
I can recommend the "sounds of the sixties" programme on radio2 presented by Brian Matthew on Sat mornings 8-10am. Lots of "B" sides & minor hits that maybe failed to get into the top 30 but are still good to listen to.
I guess Bobby's Girl was Susan's biggest hit in the uk and as a result gets played fairly often but this one, like most of her other recordings is just as catchy and surely deserves more playtime on the radio stations catering for '60,s fans like us.
The production on this version has a little more drive, and better horns. Never heard of Susan Maughan before, but I'll be looking for more of hers. THANKS for posting.
This is my absolute favourite single from Susan. Not only for her punchy delivery, spot on tuning and perfect diction, but the overall arrangement is terrific. The drummer certainly earnt his money on this one - an essential ingredient in this particular number. A perfect pop single from the 60's.
Got this on an album, every single track is amazing. Wow what a voice.

@klassicracer Too true, oldies stations never play anything out of the ordinary. Have to find it on YouTube.

I've never heard this version before. I think it's great, I suppose because it's quite faithful to the original, which I love.

I love this music. They just don't make this kind anymore. Makes me want to just get up and dance my worries away.

Hi Basil.
Susan made many great covers of american songs, sometimes better than the originals in my oppinion.
This one's really great!
Thanks for sharing!
