I was there! I remember the guy playing bass was dressed up like a caveman. Or, was it Jewford? The Troubadour was actually in West Hollywood not far from La Cienega Blvd. Kinky came out smoking a cigar and pronounced it quite politically incorrect. Got to remind him of it 25 years later at the Mucky Duck in Houston. I voted for him too.

I believe the song is on his Pearls of Snow cd. I think that's the name. I have it but can't find it right now. He's awesome. Just saw him tonight at a book signing in NYC. And saw him perform with the Jewboys at a club a few years back. Wish he'd tour again!

Thank you very much. It's a song you have to listen very closely to. I play it on my acoustic and friends look at me in horror. Kinky meant for that to happen. You're welcome! Yes, i'm close to Rockland County. Well, closer than California, anyway. :) I've seen the few other videos of Kinky performing here on youtube and i think he's gotten much better with age. His voice has matured in a good way and he sings with so much feeling - which takes you by utter surprise coming from him.
