  • I'm a huge Franck fan, and this is the first time I've listened to this quartet. It's beautiful.

  • Thanks for bringing this beautiful music to us.

  • (continued) I remember reading in a biography of Proust when he asked the Poulet String Quartet to come and play for him in his apartment. Proust's chauffeur collected the musicians in the motor car telling them that "his employer was a little bizarre but not dangerous"... Haha. Back in his bedroom, Proust lay down in the darkness. Franck's quartet was played; not a sound, not a movement from the writer. He asked them to play it all again. He gave each of the musicians 150 francs.

  • Thank you so much for all of the quartet, a very hard piece to find, very few recordings available, very unfairly neglected. The so popular violin sonata is often identified as the model for the 'Vinteuil Sonata', in Proust's novel. But the quartet must have been an important inspiration too.

  • This composition, and in particular this first movement, is Cesar Franck's masterpiece - no "ifs", no "buts', no "maybes".

  • @khashayar44 it's not a sonata...

  • Hi, thanks for the upload! I don't suppose you have the other movements do you? :)

  • @fozziebear2009

Not on the computer, but I should be able to get them up in a week or so.

  • @skatingpragmatist Okay thanks that would be awesome!
