  • Great video of working an argo! I am thinking of getting an argo soon so if you wouldn't mind telling me is what are the most common problems associated with wear & tear on an argo? thnkx!

  • @223gunner They are not bad as long as they are maintained. Couple things to keep an eye on: Clutches should be cleaned ocasionally, Idler Chains should be properly adjusted, The Conquests 20hp Kawi Engine hates old (Stale) fuel, Bearings/Seals need to be greased, Chaind need oil, Properly inflated tires are key to running straight, Tracks are just plain hard on rigging.

  • @RockDoctor07 Hello again, it turns out that i got one today, Its a 1994 vanguard 6 wheeler, & i noticed that the vertical chain coming from the engine shaft to the axle is loose to the point that it sags on one side, is this normal? could this be the cause of the knocking sound that it makes when turning or when climbing a hill? thanks so much as i know very little about them....

  • @223gunner Your "terminoligy" is a bit off, so I hope I'm reading you right. The only "verticle" chains are the ones off the Transmition, to the Idler Shafts.....one on each side of the Transmition. If you have one that's that loose, and making knocking/rattling noises, I would suspect that there is an Idler Bearing gone on that side. If both Idler Chains are equilly loose, then you would just have to raise the trans with the jacking bolts to tighten the chains.

  • A trick to get out of swamps or a pond with soft edges without your winch cable is to back out.

  • @DARRON2008 Yes, that does work good, as long as there is less weight in the back of the machine than in the front. IE, the rear of the machine is floating higher in the water than the front.

LOL, Quite often mine is loaded to the point where it no longer floats :-)

  • Axles might not break often but the sure bend a lot

  • Have you tried any of the other options like:

Attex, Hustler, Max, Amphicat, Camel, Coot, Jiger, Scrambler, Starcraft, Terra Tiger, etc.

I have not, but would like to try some of them out in this terrain. Just to see how they would compare.

  • ive got a question im interested in buying an argo and i was woundering if the axels break often or what please get back to me... thanks or should i just buy a bike like a 4 wheeler i wanted it for moose hunting to get back in the swamps

  • No, the axles don't break ofter, I was just hauling some rediculous loads. Argos are great hunting buggies, but a quad is usually all the average guy needs.

  • good thing you got a winch lol

  • Looks like a good time.

  • cool video, I like the wave of water at the end of the video.

  • Hapend to me one time, opposite side though.

I think I had my tracks too tight.Later added a little beef to all the hubs with my wire feed. Looks like you fellas have as much fun as us getting your stuff in.

  • bevins argo can take 30 sheets with not tracks.

  • Where is this bevin?

  • hard atter again hey?

  • Well, I seem to be one of those people that just has to keep busy, you know.......fixing things :-)
