@007Wrecker He was using a bunch of different classes, but all classes have the tracer.

if im in a jet and i see a traced vehicle, if i shoot my heat missile will it target the tracer?

@thebrowniesaur22 No.. those missiles have their own locks that they use, you'll see them form little lock boxes over a target and a beep to confirm its ready to shoot. Tracer locks are only for RPGs and the Rockets used in the Assault Chopper

what is the exact difference between spotting (pressing q plus "spotted") and tracing (with the tracer gun) except for that a spotted enemy only stays spotted for a few seconds?

@arroganzia Spotting is just a heads up that there is a enemy unit, while tracing provides a homing beacon for RPGs. It's totally lame and practically a aimbot for the engineers, but pretty much the only effective way to deal with vehicles.

Something I find equally if not more important than tracing is simply spotting your targets. Even spotting Jets helps out the pilots in the air a lot, even though it only last a couple of seconds. Spotting Armor helps engineers, and spotting ground forces simply helps everyone.

Well, I initially watched this while I was downloading the game. Now, I have a little more insight on this topic....

Seriously, why can't people learn to use tracer darts? If you have any form of decent cover, you can just switch to the tracer, pop a round at the tank or whatever, and then switch back to your normal gun, then wait for booms. As opposed to wasting grenades that aren't even guaranteed to finish the job.

@ArceusExodiaCPDude99 I agree. I am an Assault and I always spot and trace if an enemy vehicle or just an enemy is around the corner. Some people don't understand how this can benefit them and some people just complain before how you didn't get points for it. Now, tracers tags are a free 10 points and people still hardly trace enemy vechicles.

Badlyburned I have a question , I'm saving up for a new graphics card which I really need and idk what to get a "ATI Radeon HD 5850" which is $224.99 or a "Nvidia GeForce GTX 285" which is $158.98 , Should I spent the extra money or use the cheaper one and I was wondering if the Nvidia could play my game graphics to atleast medium in bfp4f

@Zebrahead707 I'm using Nvidia and I can run it in high.. I don't think that has anything to do with it, as for the GTX 285, that should be more than enough to run it in high if your other specs are up to par.

It helps us, engineers to destroy enemy vehicles from distance, and this can spear u from getting killed when ariving at a flag site, and there is a BIG FUCKIN TANK standing right there...it's easy!!...TAG IT AND MOVE YOUR ASS AWAY FROM THERE !! we'll do the REST ! I'm getting an entry level gaming PC for 400.00. Cheap yes, but its the best I can do. My question is that the computer I'm getting has 4 GB RAM - 500 GB HDDr - RAID Support - nVidia GeForce 7025 256 MB - Windows 7 Home Premium; Will I be able to plat BFP4F on high graphics with this setup?

@humafrag the only thing I can see that might be an issue is the video card.. if you can't run it on high, you should be able to on medium.. and that gets you the right fog of war distance.. anything higher is just for pretty details so I wouldnt worry

@humafrag which resolution do you want to play on/what kinda screen you got?

The 7025 sounds veeeery "weak", just 256 MB? For P4F it should've at least 512 and it should be a GT or x6xx (e.g. 9600 GT, what I got ) or x8xx imo.

Is the 7025 from the 7xxx-series? What I found out, isn't it a quite new one? Like ION ?
