  • Steady I Really Like This Video million investment in the Energy Biosciences Institute at the University of California, Berkeley

  • Good, I like that you share this video, I wish success always Steven Chu discussing the impact of BP's $500 million investment in the Energy Biosciences Institute at the University of California

  • Nice Video That You Share , So Very Nice Thanks You Secretary of Energy Steven Chu in 2007 BP is Going to Help Us Save the World

  • I Really Like The Video From Your Steven Chu discussing the impact of BP's $500 million investment in the Energy Biosciences Institute at the University of California

  • besides, BP drilled close to 40 thousand feet into the ocean floor, which is way pass the legal limit!! the pressure at that depth reaches between 20 - 70 thousand psi at least! there is no technology that exists today that can withstand that kind of pressure! fyi, bp may say it's fixed the "leak", and shut off all the cameras, but the fact is that the gulf floor in that region is breaking apart in MULTIPLE areas, and all hell is breaking lose - as we speak!

  • absurd. BP takes full accountability when it possesses and chooses to use the equipment as per the contract between the two parties. if transocean agreed to take liability for every accident that happened with its equipment, it would be out of business in no time. even a child could understand that. no equipment is 100% full-proof! the party that CHOOSES to use that equipment aquires the liability. even matt simmons said that!

  • "Stewardship of the environment "

Germany is planning on building 1000 hydrogen fueling stations across the fatherland ... what happened to the good old US of As

hydrogen hwy promise and where's our fuel cell vehicles besides 15 years if tiny Demo fleets?

    Hondas FCX notwithstanding.

  • It is pathetic how the leftist mark anything that is critical of obama as automatically spam.

Think about it. The only way for obama to recklessly spend is for the middle east to continue buying US debt. And for the middle east to continue to buy US debt obama needs to make sure that the US does not become oil independent and relies on foreign oil.

also, expect new taxes like the carbon taxes in the future.

  • Think about it, obama with the Middle East probably made a deal to not make the US oil independent. In return the Middle East will continue to buy US debt so obama will be able to continue to spend trillions in annual over-spending and force America towards socialism.

Also, expect higher taxes, such as carbon taxes. Americans are becoming coming poorer.

  • Obviously, obama probably caused the oil disaster.

obama probably made an agreement with the Middle East oil producers to not make the US oil independent and force the country to rely on foreign oil. In exchange, the Middle East will continue to by US debt, so that obama can continue to recklessly overspend TRILLIONS and force the country towards socialism.

Additionally, this oil spill better justifies carbon taxes/credits, cap and trade... etc.

    Seriously, obama hates the US.

  • Hey remember the BP oil spill? Man thats so old, like months old now. Oh wait.

  • According to the speaker, "the world" is America. The issues he lists are pretty much national agenda.

  • turn the vuvuzela on

  • why not just call it the BP administration?

this administration is up to its neck in BP's dirty oil money.

  • This interview sounds much better when the soccer ball is clicked on

  • Check out my BP Prank call. I'd post it as a video response but this vid doesn't allow them.

  • BP <3

  • ROFL this video upload was a waste of fucking time.

Oil is finished...and you can thank BP for changing your life and the world.

Fuck you Middle East.....We can use the sun.

  • The thing about America is that it's being taken over by countries like China and France and etc etc. Americans are nothing but fat feral creatures that are uneducated and weak. They are cowards who do nothing but sin and instigate wars and talk about how high and mighty they are when in Reality they are disgusting pigs that need to be exterminated. All of you filthy American pigs better not message my profile, OR ELSE!!!!!!!!

  • This guy was headhunted by BP for being a slime ball and assist in BPs propaganda campaign through Livermore labs. Everyone out here in physics knows this, chu is a political suave player but he sells out big time.

His greatest accomplishment before being tapped for the Obama admin, besides winning the nobel in the late 90s, was acquiring 500 million from BP to do energy research on alternative fuels over some years.

BP makes 20 bill a year, then spend 500 mill over 20 years to save us.. =[

  • I see some of you fuckwits are still stuck on stupid. Some of you give the impression that this would not have happened if there were some hardcore conservatives in the WH, or that it would at least be fixed faster. Wrong. Stop pretending that politics have anything to do with this mess. This is a BUSINESS decision, and ALL of our politicians(left AND right) are completely owned by the same corporate thugs.

  • bla bla bla... we don't do shit, but keep funding us... bla bla bla

  • No one should ever expect BP or any company to actually compromise their CORE business with any new endeavor. The reason that fossil companies like BP tout Wind, Solar, and Biomass "energy research" and avoid nuclear is that there is no compromise of their core business. You can bet they give great support to environmental organizations that likewise save competition from their cash-cow core fossil business too.

  • Comment removed

  • Conservatives are the biggest threat to the demise of the United States of America.

  • @DigitalAquarius lol. ignorant people like you are more of a threat. i guess spending money that government does not have is fine with you.

  • 500million and it impacts economic prosperity...... look what happen to economy now???? where is the prosperity?? pure bull shlt

  • If you want to know the truth about BP and go to ww.prisonplanet and watch the movie Invisible Empire! This movie will hopefully scare you and wake you up from your dream! This world and its powerful people dont want you to see this movie!

  • There's nothing wrong what he said. BP has an enormous war chest full of resources and if they used some of it back in 2007 to try and increase environmental awareness while encouraging research into alternative bio-sustainable forms of energy then more power to that objective. This should have nothing to do with the lax security measures that caused this current catastrophe. It's annoying when people start dredging up old videos to try to muddy the waters of an already convoluted situation.

  • @itwillbealright Well said! BP giving money for a good cause is separate from its being held accountable for other lapses. Of course, evidence of any "quid pro quo" should be investigated, but the title of this video is dubious and disingenious!

  • @itwillbealright You and the 11 people that up'd your comment are retards. "If" statements don't mean shit all. I could say anything if that were the case, IF HITLER WAS NEVER BORN, THE HOLOCAUST WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. Yea, good one Einstein. All BP CEO's need to be put in jail for what they have caused.

  • @llama3aterr try reading it. they did commit lots of money into research. what he addresses have nothing to do with acquiring more oil. lbnl are the ones saving the world here. bp are just funders. the title is misleading. try actually reading and listening before you make absolutely unrelated comments.

  • @itwillbealright On the contrary, with BP being brought in on such a monumental task of 'ecological stewartship', this would entitle them to certain privelages obtained through political policy and environmental regulations. The federal government and the EPA were lax on BP because of their contributions, specifically. This is aside from the recent US Coast Guard hearing in which rig workers were told to pour salt water into the leak in lue of the standard concrete and mud-which exacerbated it!

  • @seraphimra BP is not accountable for the failing equipment in that particular instance because the owners of the actual equipment was a company called "Transocean" which should have tested and removed any leaking or faulty equipment as per their contractual agreement with BP. The leaking equipment was actually shut-down and an auxiliary gear was relied upon. You can point all the fingers that you want but the bottom line is that it won't clean up the waters.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=ioIhoasQQKk

    watch this!!

  • Free market capitalism is a fraud.

  • bp is creating more pro environment sentiment than any green non profit org could possibly muster, with exception of $5/gallon oil

  • The picture puzzle becomes clearer and clearer with each and every piece of the puzzle that we are given. What a well crafted game that is being played out.

  • "We will save the world with this loan and most importantly to me, with BP oil $ in my pocket" - Steve Chu

  • BP saving the world one oil spill at a time.

  • everybody that wears a suit is evil.

  • *yawns*

  • YOU GOT TO FIX THE GUSHING WELL (65 FUCKING DAYS NOW) BEFORE ANYTHING TO FUCKING RETARDS

  • In the twisted minds of these globalist, saving the world means destroying whats left of the American standard of living.

  • Chu's just another Liberal lackey...no matter what his "IQ" is SUPPOSED to be! Moron!

  • Yes, leftist environmentalism is a religion, a blind faith. Witness: whenever the data do not back up the religion, the data is buried and the promulgators are besmirched. But the religion is for the useful idiots. People like Chu know the leftist-environmental "science" is anything but science. Still his ilk promote the cause. Why? Destruction of the economy on which the middle class depends. What's left is global tyranny. Chu knows; he's evil. Two types: useful idiots and the evil.

  • before this moment i didnt think that BP let this happen, doesnt it seem srange that an oil company that let pieces of one of its rigs come through the pipe to the surface and not say anything, also is invested in green energy, and that a spill could be used as a political tool for the socialist traitor president to push Cap&trade through the senate

  • The zipper displaces the button and a man lacks just that much time to think while dressing at dawn, a philosophical hour, and thus a melacholy hour.

  • Did all BP's "green" initiatives and campaign contributions con the MAOBama White House into giving them too little oversight?

  • BP was the biggest contributor to Obama's election campaign, no more need to be said...

  • @Youtoo2128 you idiot, BP doesn't even appear in the top 20, stop looking in your ass for "facts" politifact and opensecrets

  • @dhymers You fucking libtard, you're too fucking stupid to even research the truth. The biggest contributor to Obama's campaign were the employees and the company of BP. 3.25 million dollars, you imbecilic uninformed led by the nose moron.

Learn to disseminate information and stop following leftist idealouges who want to destroy America you friggin stupid idiot.

  • @Youtoo2128 I think you're a little bit confused (or mislead) BP has spent $3.5 million on donations to candidates over the last 20 years. The Obama campaign recieved just a little under $700,000 from BP, its committees and employees.

Contrast that with the $15.7 million they spend lobbying all members of congress.

Again, with the ranting insults, I know its easier than to look at the facts, but please.

  • @Youtoo2128 Simplifying the complexities of this disaster and its causes to "paying off Obama with 700k" is the height of ignorance. The MMS, Dick Cheney & BP's safety record are what caused this disaster. I agree the presidents reaction could have been a lot better, harking back to campaign contributions is just dumb. Viewing every problem this great country has through a lens of Obama hatred should not absolve you from thinking about problems.

I'll provide the figures, you provide the insults.

  • @dhymers why did ObaMao's hand picked MMS executive grant BP passes and waivers on reg violations days before disaster?.....get over it Bush and Cheney are not in charge anymore ,your manchild ObaMao is ...

worthless treasonous commie progressives spewing talking point propaganda like good little workers

  • @Youtoo2128 Oh, and as for being too stupid to research the facts, the sources for my original comments where provided in the comment - Politifact and Opensecrets, a simple look at these sites would have proved my comment. BP doesn't even appear in the top 20 contributors. Further information can be looked at on Reuters.

  • @Youtoo2128 Oh, and for shiggles, the University of California was actually the biggest contributor to Obamas 2008 campaign, at 1.6 million dollars.

  • BP did give 700K to Obama but that doesn't necessitate his compliance to their incompetence.

  • Chu: Smart in physics? Yes.

    Smart in anything else... NO.

    Libtard in life.

  • Everyday it becomes more obvious that this oil spill in the gulf was no accident. If, it had been O'bama would have pulled out all the stop's to prevent the oil from reaching the coast. But, what does he do? He stop's all effort's to restrict the damage. O'bama want's the damage. His agenda is passing the cap and trade bill. He could care less about the enviroment, the wild life, the people loosing their job's. O'bama is destroying America! Impeach O'bama Now!!!

  • *****OBAMASPILL DAY 65*****

Another 90,000 barrels of oil gushed

  • Nobel prize in physics... yes. Common sense? No.

  • My conspiracy theory is that Obama, Chu ,BP , Soros deliberately blew out the well to push his Eurosociaist Cap & Trade Bill. It is 1000 times more believable than 9/11 was an insiders job!

  • What an Obama stooge

  • Oil is not a fossil fuel, dumpkoffs. Coal is a fossil fuel. Crude oil is not. Just please stop calling oil a fossil fuel.

  • @IRUKANJI

Check yourself there. All fuel composed primarily of ancient biotic material is considered "fossil fuel".

  • go back to school!

  • Save the world!? And this is the guy Obama and his band of merry libs have been bragging about? Kiss the Gulf good-bye... never let a good crisis go to waste.

  • It just galls me that organizations dedicated to debunking the atrocious data management and analysis used to ram Anthropogenic Global Warming on the public as if it were a forgone conclusion haven't received a dime from oil companies and yet the news agencies just state as a matter of course that "deniers" are "in the pockets of oil companies." In fact, just the opposite is true, and it's entirely plausible that the AGW scam was hatched and financed by energy traders to rip off the public.

  • Gotcha! Bwhawha!

  • The Gulf oil spill fulfills a 100 year old prophecy. just google "Petroleum, Petroleum" by Gustav Meyrink. He even mentions oil raining down.

  • Ha Ha. Save the world. Sure you are....

  • Makes sense... this just reinforces the fact that gov't and oil had special relationships...thus negating regulations and such.... and why didn't Obama and his admin. enforce laws and make sure BP was following safety regulations? oh yeah, because they were getting paid by BP... I hope this Chu guy doesn't predict Microsoft will end world hunger! lol

  • @MegaMonsterMike not because they where getting paid by BP, they where WILLFULLY ignorant of BP's safety record, if BP was paying Obama to keep quiet it would have been a shitload more money.

  • 2 billion tax payer dollars given to G. Soros, to drill deep deepwater wells, a man who already has more money than one can imagine…do people realize what is really going on, at all?!?!? If they do, how can they sit still and accept it, seemingly without a word? They are destroying our USA to make us 3rd world

  • oil companies play everyone for a dumbass. With our money + 35bn in subsidies.

They can and will buy whoever's opinion they want, however can they buy YOURS ?

  • @dhymers

I've probably forgotten 10 times more about the oil business than you'll ever be able to know.

You're what Vladimir Lenin would have called "another useful idiot".

  • @justtex1975 the only thing you *really* need to know about any fossil fuel is a bloody bell curve.

  • @dhymers

Other than propaganda, you don't know shit from gooseberry pie.

The United States sits atop by far the largest oil shale reserves in the world.

We have technology today, that we didn't have just a few years ago, to extract kerogen, which is fuel very similar to jet fuel, that needs no further refining for use in diesel engines, straight from the shallow rocks, with very little surface disturbance.

We have enough kerogen to last hundreds & hundreds of years.

    You useful idiot...

  • @justtex1975

EROEI of Kerogen is diminished, even coal liquification is better.

You can bring up all the alternatives with a hydrocarbon base you want, NONE of them is as easy to get at as on-land oil (which peaked in the US in 1970)

As we slide the slope of remaining addicted to fossil based fuels the EROEI of each will become less and less, we need to figure out viable alternatives.

With respect, do you want to lay off the childish insults ?

  • @dhymers

We both know EROEI is a fatally flawed metric within dynamic economies. So why bring it up?

Also, your "base" claim is pure fantasy and there simply is no "alternative" to fossil fuel, which is merely biologically stored chemical energy.

I lived the "off the grid" life in the 70's & use as little energy as possible today.

Feel free to live in a cave if you'd like. But don't push your BS based eco-religion on others.

Esp. on ppl like me, who know science, & all about your lies.

  • Comment removed

  • @justtex1975 soooo you are a commie....get back off the grid America does not want you here

  • @HangProgressives

I'd tell you to bite me and run a long pole up your ass, but I'm afraid you'd just like doing it to yourself (again).

So, just take a flying fucking leap and go bother someone with a below room temperature IQ, just like yours.

  • @justtex1975 wash your mouth out with buckshot you commie fuck and save a patriot the shell

my room temp 149 ...now run along global cooling denier

  • @justtex1975 my "lies" where from the wiki article you told me to read.

There ARE alternatives to generating energy sans fossils, of course oil/gas/coal is used to make them, but their lifespan and production far outweighs simply burning a fossil to create the energy. I commend you for your energy conservation.

  • @justtex1975 when of course you consider the fact that fossils are finite.

Using those 10,000 years of kerogen to produce another energy producing technology is a far better use than simply dumping it in the gas tank of a truck.

  • @dhymers

First, what gives you any right to tell me how to live?

Second, I saw that you advocate using Bloom's fuel cell, but apparently the fact that it uses large amounts of hydrogen rich fossil fuel seems to have alluded you. As did the fact that making them produces lots of toxic waste.

Third, as I've already said, feel free to live in a cave & eat nothing but tofu for as long as you want. But, don't expect me or any other sane person to adopt your weird brand of non-theistic religion.

  • @justtex1975 I'm not telling you how to live, I'm simply saying there are alternatives to using energy the way we do today, yes they are built on fossi fuels, our whole way of life is. You and me both are in existence today because of the abundance of cheap energy, but only a moron would think that would last forever. Live your life however you want, retired and trolling youtube. I'll live underground in a custom home ... or yeah a cave. Its the most efficient to heat+cool anyway.

  • @dhymers

    My advice to you:

    Walk baby walk!

  • @dhymers

Please tell us all about your magical pixie dust energy source?

    Do Fairies sprinkle it around?

Where do the Magic Fairies get it?

    What's it made out of??

    How much does it cost??

    Hurry & tell us!

I want to get mine right away!!

  • @justtex1975

yes, the Bloom box uses natural gas, I simply stated its a more efficient way of using a fossil fuel, as apposed to burning coal/gas for a turbine. (BE: >50%, average coal power station <30%)

There is no perfect energy source, but there are much more efficient ways of using the energy sources we have.

wtf is all this talk about religion ? whatever it is, I'll take it over the "I'm entitled to cheap energy forever" stance. I think you might be past your "bury by" date.

  • @justtex1975 Pixie dust indeed. No, the sun, kinetic energies in rivers, oceans & the wind, suprised you'd be unaware of these energy sources having "lived off the grid" (1-5yrs old? in the 70's?) Cue arguments about how solar etc are too expensive & impractical etc. in addition to that, a couple of elements called uranium & thorium I spose you could call those pixie dust for fun. Of course these techniques use fossils to set up, but don't cosume them as fuel.

  • @justtex1975 My "fantasy religion" of advocating for "pixie dust" energy could be just as unrealistic as replacing our oil imports & domestic production simply with kerogen. Its a fair fight, I don't doubt shale production will be vastly expanded in the years to come, as will many other alternative energy sources. May the best win.

  • Considering that Chu, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Barack O-Bummer and a bunch of other Leftist lunatic clowns have all received the "Nobel Prize" recently, I'm wondering if they're passing out the "Nobel Prize" at a clown school these days?!

Should they just pass out an "Official Nobel Prize" clown costume too?

Including funny looking over size shoes, a weird wig, a red ball nose, and a pointy dunce cap to go with each "Nobel Prize"?

    I hope not.

That would just make real clowns look bad...

  • @justtex1975 Jimmy Carter is a lunatic ? any idea what peak oil is ?

  • @dhymers

"Peak oil"? It's a politically agenda driven fantasy. That's what "it is".

Just go to wiki & look up "Oil shale reserves", then find & read all about in-situ methods of kerogen extraction from "oil shale".

Sure, you'll probably cry all the same Eco-Nut excuses we've heard for years, why not to use oil shale kerogen, but those are all just worthless excuses.

  • @justtex1975 shale will not come close to covering the shortfall and it will be so painfully expensive, the free lunch is coming to a close.

  • Save us from big government and their fat cat spending Buds. Then we may save the world.

  • Did the Obama administration (or anyone else) go easy on BP's horrendous safety record because of their massive investment in "green" industries? In other words, did they buy off scrutiny with politically correct gestures?

  • @tommvaughan I love that you have proof of that.

  • @tommvaughan yep keep blaming the wrong people....moron.

  • @tommvaughan Obama has went with everybody that has given him money. The wind blows and he changes directions. This guy has no idea what he's doing. He tried to be a great liberal and give everything why, but he's in way over his had and he doesn't know what he's done

  • @tommvaughan Hell yea they did. Everyone who's partisan just immediately crosses out the possibility of corruption.

  • @tommvaughan everyone has a "horrendous" safety record.

  • bigger government and taxation need to be fucked hard!

  • The World doesn't need to be "saved"... and the answer to every "problem" is not bigger government and taxation.

  • BP would own all of the patents and then stifle them from ever coming to market- pretty damn obvious tactic all the big industries use. Buy the competition out or have all the patents. This practice needs to be stopped. It borders on criminal and is not good for mankind.

  • @Kellykleinman Exactly, just like Chevron owns the patents to large format NiMh batteries in the US.

  • Nobel price scientist has no business to udministrate any industry. His job is to do research!

  • This dunce is supposed to be the head of the EPA, not the damn Secretary of Energy.

  • I want a nobel prize! I didn't know they were just giving them away until I saw Obama and this guy with one!!

  • Nobel prize...Obamma won one not for anything he did...but what they thought he MIGHT perhaps maybe possibly someday do...so i wonder...does he have to give it back??

  • "We are going to save the world." No wonder this dunce got a Nobel Prize. Just looking at him makes me wonder if he even knows where you put the gas in your Prius. Academia are a waste of oxygen.

  • McChrystal is also one of Obamas star pupils

  • Nobel Prize....whooptie F**KIN Doo.....they give those things to anybody these days. Just look at Al Gore!

    Oh.....and Obutthead!

  • bwahahaha!

  • :46 i lol'd

  • One day they are their benefactor to save the world, now they are their whipping boy in desroying it.

Either way, they wan't their MONEY. Starting to understand this administration yet?.

  • @CessnaDriver2 never more clearly then the last 60 days..

  • Nobel Prize winner, no freaking common sense.

  • LOL. That is so funny. Liberals are so ill in the mind

  • @loki1830 and I spose you where mouthing off about BP's safety record, and you wrote to Steve about it and said so at the time ?

Did anyone here know BP made solar panels too ?

or that the donated to Obama AND Mcain+Palin ?

hindsight that bitch is TWENTY TWENTY.

  • @dhymers McCain and Palin aren't in charge. Barry Sorento, AKA Barack Hussein Obama, is. This is Barry's boy.

  • did you know stephan chu won the nobel prize? just wanted to let you all know signed barak obama

  • OMG!

  • While we're talking about saving the world and pie in the sky, can these brilliant minds make my dreams come true? I want to live until I'm 300 years old... (oh, I forgot about Obama's "healthcare" plan). And I want to travel the galaxy... (oh, I forgot that Obama canceled our space program).

  • Is is nothing more than the culmination of Progressivism's dream of our society being run by the academics and the "experts". They have so conditioned us through our education system and media for the past 60+ years that we accept that these egg-heads, these theoreticians know more than the people actually doing the work that we have acquiesced to the CRAP! ENOUGH!

  • Isn’t Steven Chu the one that Obama talked to validate that the top kill procedure would work?

  • Berkely idiots. These nitwits never worked a hard day in their life. 'Save the world, lock up a liberal."

  • @ThePrimaLaser Yeah and your dumb ass can't even spell Berkeley right.

  • @Caryatides OOOHHH my bad. Libs are still morons, chicken littles and hypocrites.

By the way, dumbass is one word, look it up, who is the idiot now?

  • @ThePrimaLaser Still you.

  • @Caryatides gotcha hillbilly, don't get so torqued. It is all good according to the sex-crazed poodle dem al gore.

  • @ThePrimaLaser Yeah those idiots....with the education and their brains. Can you bring me some more fires with the whooper you just brought me?

  • @redfistaor Hey, fister, it is Whopper as in the lies Obama spews like a broken oil well.

  • Nobel prize winning...partners to save the world. What an educated moron.

  • Nobel Prize.

We all know what that means.

  • Pinkos

  • crony-corporatist aka socialist.

The cold war is NOT over. It's here, and ObaMao and his comrades are the Domestic Enemies our founders warned about.

  • "Partnering with BP we will now have the resources that we need to save the world"

these smarmy elitists love to tell the truth in a context when they think you know what they are talking about while they are communicating between themselves with a hidden meaning. Well now we know that BP has helped by providing the 20 Billion dollars to "save the world/bribe legislators to pass cap and trade"

  • this is the plan ,let the people turn against energy companies so the government can take control, why do u think nothing is being done in the gulf ? the people on the top are gonna make a lot of money from cap and trade plus the government will have total control over you, WAKE UP AMERICA before YOU ARE ENSLAVED!!! OH AND BUY AS MUCH GUNS AMMO AND GOLD/SILVER AS YOU CAN !!!!!!!!

  • @poisonplumbs

it's not to that point yet, better support TEA party candidates and take back the congress and senate in 2010, we can repeal much of this agenda and watch our thin-skinned President blow a gasket when he can't get his way.

Besides if the sh|t hits the fan, there are already more arms, ammo, radios, anti-armor, med supplies etc than we will need.

  • Remember rule #1 , never let a good crisis go to waste (Rham Emnauel) and now it looks like the fall guy is running out (Rham Emnauel) because he doesnt like Obamas friends ideaology of global governance and control of the people at any cost. Bye bye Miss American pie.....

  • Wow, now I don't have to go out and commit suicide

  • People like those two make me want to get violent. Stupidity at that level must be stamped out.

  • How's the Hope and Change working out for you?

Save yourselves; Kill the Government. It's them or us.

  • WOW ! i feel saved & secure now.

  • TYPICAL CAMPUS ASSHOLE

  • Steven Chu is a certified idiot.

  • hey Obama cronies ----saving the world is a great idea but only in theory

  • ....but first, we have to destroy the world in order to save it....

  • @bughousechess

this is part of the plan now to destroy and let it ride, and then tax all of us to death giving up control of our money and lives to the govt to control under supposed cap and trade system. This will destroy us as a nation and they hope the socialist net is well in place before it happens time runs out in nov they better hurry.

  • The hubris of these pinheads is enough to make your head spin. "We are going to save the world." They can't even save the fish and fowl in the tiny Gulf of Mexico, but the world, THAT we can save.

  • @topperj Now, apply your comment to yourself...

  • @topperj He can't even save his siblings

  • Oil spill in the Gulf, OBAMA`S FAULT!

  • I feel like I am living in a comic strip!!!

  • obviously, while chu was fixated on saving the world, BP fed his megalomaniacal dreams, meanwhile continuing their criminally unsafe, cost-chiseling drilling, piping, and refining operations, all of which have experienced catastrophes in the last few years. This is typical of these con artist type operations. We have them by the bushel down in s. florida. Steal with both hands while being very showy about charity and very generous to politicians.

  • Rollie1961 has it exactly right. BP screwed up the explosion and oil spill but the Feds DID NOTHING to contain the disaster and that's their job. It's guys like Nobel Prize winner Steven Chu who are clueless in this Administration. It's guys like our President who has no leadership instincts to address such a catastrophe.

Yeah, I know, let's just blame Bush and Cheney.

  • they are going to SAVE the world!!!

  • For the sake of free speech tempered with responsibility, and the detrimental effect this video will have on Change, Obama has requested this video be taken down.

  • I'd like to see a criminal investigation of BP's role in this gulf oil disaster. The federal government has LIED to the American people about this spill from day one. It's all about pushing an agenda to TAX (cap & trade) the American people into poverty.

  • Sorry L5player and everyone else blaming BP only - this administration did nothing in the first days to contain this spill. It could have been contained within a 50-mile radius and not come to shore if Obama and the administration would have brought in everything possible - hell, other countries offered and we turned them down. When are you idiots going to realize that Obama does not know how to handle his job?

  • Communist traitor marxist rats ruining America.

  • I'm no apologist for anything related to Obama, but it's really not fair to hold Chu or anyone else accountable for a then-future industrial accident, the cause(s) of which are still not known. For all we know, BP purchased a $5 part from an unknown supplier that ended up being defective or not suitable for the task--and it blew out. Who knows what happened? The Challenger disaster occurred for a rather minor failure of an O ring.

  • @L5player the he!! we can't hold him responsible. what the he!! is the regulatory agencies doing? it is their job to inspect these companies. i hold our agencies accountavble as much as BP. btw BP was a hard core left wing company. just look at their past ads they were in the
