I played this when I was a kid, and I spent years looking for it again, because I remembered the graphics were like PS1 so I ended up looking up massive lists of PS1 games to find it.

For those interested, there is a 7th Anniversary Edition Oni project at Oni Central Forum ( oni . bungie . org )

Currently in beta, it allows you to shapeshift into any character on any level, a few new weapons were introduced, there are bug fixes and more. It is the framework for future advances.

Oni was a fantastic experience. Played it a dozen times and it's never too long after I played it that I yearn for more to the story. Those Bungie guys and gals gotta wake up and answer our clamoring for more. Only this time enhance the game like a more enemies, balanced fighting, three weapons, and those levels are huge gimme at least a skateboard or somethin'. Love to see more of this.

Beautiful game. The most versatile and precise melee gameplay I've come across to date, even with all the years since it's come out. Kinda like a melee Jedi Outcast game. I really think that if they resurrected this game and added multiplayer, it could be one of the best ever competitive fighters. It would be so damn fun...

oni has one of the best storylines ive every seen the concept is butiful, but the graphics are outdated and the gameplay just sucks on ps2 and is medeocre at best on the PC. i bought oni when it first came out.
