@blueiceplayer I have no money problems and always spent it on the best products (clarins and Christian Dior usually). That is, until I tried a homemade honey and oat mask on my skin. I only put it once a week, but to be honest, there is no product out there that has the same effect. I put normal cream the other days. In the winter coconut oil is the only thing that does not let my skin dry off.

petroleum jelly is not poring clogging but it can trap things that clog your pores in the skin.

so just make sure your skin is nicely clean (NOT SQUEAKY CLEAN) and then apply the pj.

apply it at night to avoid being a greasy mess.

it's the best moisturizer out there and the only one tested to actually help dry, scaley skin.

Nothing could be worse than Vaseline for your skin. Its main ingredient is mineral oil, a byproduct of the distillation of gasoline from crude oil. It also keeps the skin from expelling waste through its pores. After it's absorbed by the skin, makes its way through the liver and into the intestines, where it soaks up any fat soluble vitamins and carries them out of your body.

Read labels. Avoid petroleum jelly and any other skin "care" preparation with mineral oil.

A daily toner is useful for very oily skin, and vaseline could be used for very dry skin. Although be careful, the vaseline may give you pimples.

I use the Hibiscus facial toner made by Alba, and this works well. It cleans my pores but doesn't dry my skin.

Thats crazy to put Vaseline on your skin...just use epsom salt as a facial scrub or sugar...then you get a vitamin A cream and put it on your face. Vitamin A is the only vitamin I think that can actually absorb through the skin other than taking it orally. Also, Vitamin A is the same as "retinol" just a cheaper version. Prevents wrinkles to a point and plumps your skin up, without side effects ..I have combination skin and I haven't broken out at all..

You can go to Vitamin World, or even GNC, whole foods..I got the one from V. World its like a metallic blue logo..on a plastic white jar..it comes in different sizes and lasts a long time..

well it's still good for you in some way like for moisturizing once a week or so. she said a week and a half or so. more safe. it is petroleum jelly and it's not that dangerous for skin. baby oil is a mineral oil/fragrance. mineral oil is a liquid petroleum. for lips. seconds or so feels like you simply gave your lips exfoliation. no wonder she said it gives her plump lips after.

Trust me Leven Rambin's skin is far from perfect. I have seen her up close w/o make up - a lot of bumps and fine lines and she's only in her teens and its all due to heavy make up. It just looks perfect because she's on tv. However her regimen of vaseline does work and its mostly what models and beauty queens use. You can see for yourself at the miss universe site. If you remove the vaseline off your face with a WARM towel it ALL comes off. Vitamin E oil is also another great alternative.

Depends entirely on how oily your skin is. I would say: definately you shouldn't be using both vaseline and daily toner. Daily toner is for very oily skin and vaseline is for very dry skin. The vaseline may give you pimples otherwise.

If you have combination skin, use vaseline only on cheeks and toner only on the T zone.

Witch Hazel, rubbing alcohol; anything that cleans and strips the skin. I recommend one that is designed especially for facial skin, however. I suggest Alba brand toners! I use the Hibiscus facial toner by them and it's great. It cleans my pores but doesn't dry my skin.

Actually, vaseline is non-comedogenic (meaning it won't clog your pores). I cleared it with my dermatologist, and it says so right on the back of the bottle.

I was a little nervous to use it at first too, because it does seem like it would be very heavy for your skin - but it shouldn't cause breakouts! Hasn't for me anyway, and I'm pretty prone to them :)

Vaseline does not moisturize, it only locks in moisture/water.. so if your skin/lips are in bad shape to begin with, Vaseline won't help! It only helps when skin/lips are already moisturized and smooth to keep them so for longer and protect them from harsh weather and hot water etc. And yes, for many people, Vaseline is not face friendly!!
