This is a solid RPG for anyone who enjoy games like Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Nights and perhaps even Dragon Age although Drakensang is more like a fairytale. One thing that irritated me were the cliches that are everywhere in the game.

i think i might wanna try this game out.... looks alot like dragonage... for iam a huuuge fan of d&d pcrpgs like baldursgate series and icewind dale planescape neverwinter nights series... and of course dragon age (fell in love with this one) .... hope i will like this... i kno roughly that this was based on a popular german p&p rpg dark eye.... altho i never played ne p&p rpgs even d&d ones but i like pc games thats based on p&p rpgs...

the thing which annoyed me about this game is the fact it's imperative, in the later levels, to have a mixed party. If you wanted a party to be entirely melee or magic, doing so will cripple your progress quite severly - especially in boss battles.

That is because at its heart its a turn based RPG...sure it tries to do real time but unlike Dungeon Siege it's not a real time action RPG at its core.

dark eye is different to d&d cant really compare em. both systems work pretty well and the worlds both have huge background. But in the end i would go with the dark eye cuze I prefer the aventurien background much more and my background knowledge of that setting is simply better.
