You know, i hate the people who dislike the mustang 3.7l. I don't see the problem with it. i mean it looks cool, sounds cool, its pretty damn fast, and it costs less to own and drive... whats not to like? I dislike the old V6 because of its pure lack of performance. This one however has 300+ hp.. so it doesn't lose the mustang's "performance" image. I mean when Formula One cars are changing to V6's, i think its time to lose the old V6 image, and adopt a new way of looking at them..
A little too raspy for me so Im going with Ford racing performance parts sport exhaust, but to each his own! I'll thumbs u up!! Oh and my car is faster lol!!

Is there much drone with the Roush? I've ridden in my buddy's 3.7l with the borla atak and it's relatively quite compaired to the mac axle back i had on my 08 4.0, but i want something different for my 3.7l

nice pull btw. what gears are you running? When i bought mine 2 months ago..to my surprise and delight it had 3.31 ratio. I didnt notice until i got home and was reading more closely @ the window placard. It hauls pretty nice for bone stock
@pastelasoproductions The sad thing is a stock 3.7 with 3.31 will do 13.4 secs at the quater so if I where you I would put 3.55 or 3.73 in then you should with ease break 12secs.

I am not a fan of v6 mustang because well it you wifes car and you get a gt. Now I can understand getting the new one because of the gas mileage and thats cool. But for a series person gt is the guys and the v6 is the girls no offense anybody just my thoughts. Although your V6 sound sick almost as good as an new 5.0

@GoGoggansGo Funny thing is.. This V6 is more powerful than any of the Mustang's V8s leading up to 2010...I wouldn't necessarily consider this particular V6 model a woman's car. You may as well consider the older V8s a woman's cars as well..
@abzdefg321123 thats very true anything mustang before 2010 a stock v6 would eat up an stock gt and your right about an 1994-2004 gt convertiable as a womens car because there are tons of them.
@abzdefg321123 More powerful stock for stock but there is not much room for upgrades on these new 3.7L as they already have high flow 4 valve heads, high compression, aggressive camshafts etc. A heads/cam/intake on an old 5.0 or a 2V 4.6 is going to jump the power past the 6 easily. The only option for any real power gain on the 6 is forced induction. The tune and exhaust is worth a good chunk of power but not quite enough for 12s and then that's it.
@abzdefg321123 Definitely not more powerful, all the older V8's have at least 30 more lb-ft of torque, and not to mention that V8 rumble or sound.
This V6 (even though it has a pretty powerful engine) is still meant for the daily driver and was never intended to race (drive shaft can't handle intense speeds) I'm buying one simply because I can't afford the new GT, and gas mileage is a plus. It's still a base line Mustang, but an awesome one.
Just got this on my 2011 V6 Mustang, and it sounds amazing i love it... you can easily control the drone and i love the small amount of vibration (kinda wish there was more), and the sound cant get any better for a V6... sounds like a race car. Crazy
First of all amazing mustang! secondly i would like to know how much hp you gained with all the upgrades ? + if you tried 0-60 how many sec did that take?
@Rachymeow bad lol and it vibrates a little too but only between 2600 and 3000rpms... you get used to it but you kind of wish it wasn't there.. i haven't heard the bolra atak in person but if i could go back i would probably get that since i haven't heard anything negative about them..
@jamesyak52 I think everyone would LOVE to have a 5.0 but it starts at 29k and out the door probably 32k-33k and mines was 24k out the door and these mods were $1300. Yes the GT would still spank the V6 but only by about half a second. It is alot but i'm 2 cylinders less..
@pastelasoproductions rofl, first off, no 2011 5.0 gt is going to be 33k. i see a ton of them brand new for 28k and if you knew anything you negotiate on cars.. not just buy at sticker... you definatelly got ripped on your car then. second off. a new gt is around 28k out the door after negotiation. i know this because i just got a 2011 5.0. second.. if your concerned about the price.. then why not just wait till now and get a used one for like 22k-24k... with like 10k miles on it.. yeah..
@pastelasoproductions plus people fail to realize that a v6 is appx 300lbs lighter than gt which makes it a much better everyday driver, you can feel the weight difference....i drove both, then bought a premium silver/sadle 6 seed. which i had a 3.31, but i couldnt resist at the dealer when i saw the car.(6spd).

1. How much more you pay in gas for a GT than a V6 we all know. And stop looking at the numbers on the damn window sticker because those numbers are under perfect conditions.
2. Most you guys don't even think about the insurance pricings... My 2011 V6 only costs me $92.00 a month to insure, and thats 100% fully loaded insurance with a 500 deductible.
@TheDreamTheory lol well i have an 07Shelby GT500 SVT and my insurance is only 85 bucks a month with full coverage and a 200 dollar deductible through USAA. LOL and who cares about gas mileage. you dont drive a stang cross country so who cares. i use 93 octane only at 3.33 a gallon where im at and i could care less. and im not rich i work for my pennies. :)
@jamesyak52 The new 3.7L is an amazing motor. It'll smoke the old GT (which is 90% of Stangs) without a thought. Plus the mpgs are much better than the 5.0L and the sound is just as nice.

It integrated very well with my mustang and people even think it is stock because of the color and quality. It allows you to change text, screen lcd color and contrast. It is expensive but worth it. Highly recommend it if you wanna out in an after market radio. And if you ask me, i prefer buttons for AC over knobs any day ;-p

im getting this exhaust next week or this friday :) btw whats the pinping diameter of the axle backs, i know the stock are 2.25 i need to check if this are 2.5 bcuz im planning on putting some longtube headers this summer :)
@2115will I'm on the same boat as you because i'm getting 2.5 soon as well.. All I can tell you is that the axle back fit snug on the 2.25 stock pipes.. I don't see how an extra .25 wouldn't fit on our exhaust.. atleast I hope so.. Have you decided what 2.5in piping you are going with?
@pastelasoproductions well im planning on putting bbk long tube headers with bbk x pipe thats all 2.5 there then im gonna take it to a muffler shop n let them custom made that pipe between the axlebacks n the mid pipes, + 3.55 or 3.73 gears+ JLT CAI+ BAMA R tune thats my plan for this summer then somewhere in winter install a lighter driveshaft
@2115will I read that for manual the 4.10s are too steep and 1st gear is way to short.. I'm probably jumping on the 3.73s and headers. Let me know how that goes if you get them before me!
Lots of consternation going on about the noise, the hard ticking/tapping, lots of unhappy owners. Ford has yet to come up with a fix but they are documenting all cars with the noise.
@Ltngdrvr I did notice that this noise was more apparent after I put the mods on.. Wonder if its the CAI or tune that is making it more pronounced than all the other v6s you have heard..
@pastelasoproductions I am sure it is nothing bud, I have heard many 3.7s and most of them sound just like yours! The "noise" this guy is refering to is much louder and can be heard with the hood closed and the engine cold!
@Ltngdrvr Actually the noise is not to bad, infact it sounds almost normal since I have driven many mustangs with the 3.7. Stop getting the guy worked up for nothing! 1st, it only happens when the engine is cold and 2nd it is only on cars that are built before a certain build date.
so this a manual or automatic. i want a automatic cuz i will be multitasking in my car, like drink and eat sandwich and such. like chip and stuff. you guy know what i mean. is the automatic good?
@KoolJust4U The auto is still good but again everyone has a personal preference but I believe that a manual v6 stang can launch harder than a auto v6 stang.. Not sure how fast the shifts are in the auto but i'm sure that with practice you can shift faster and harder in a manual.. About the multitasking in a manual, i'm sure everyone here that has a manual has at some point eaten a burger and driven at the same time. Just use your left hand to steer and shift :-) or throw it in 5th or 6th asap..
@KoolJust4U heard the automatic is the better of the two trannies. Its an in house ford design and fords automaic transmissions are known to be long lasting and pretty modable.
@blackpenguin69 Yea the windows were down but with the windows up it sounds like 2 subs in the trunk at certain rpms. Planning on putting dynomat in the trunk to see if it helps but i'm not complaining. When i'm cruising at 70 you cant hear it unless you step on it.
Just went to PBIR and ran a 13.444 at the quarter. Had no one to film but next time I go, which will be next week I will have someone film it. Super happy with the .3 second gain! And I still haven't taken off the cats!
@PJthePlayer It is manual.. I have also heard that the custom tunes for the autos changes the shift points to be higher and more aggressive. I have yet to see one or be in one however I believe that standard, if you can drive it, can launch out of the hole faster and harder and can even shift between gears harder.. That's just me.. And on you tube I haven't seen very good 60' times for autos.. they are around 2.4 and 2.5 which for this car should be in 2.0sec..
@pastelasoproductions Hmm, well I've only ever driven a manual vehicle maybe once or twice in my life. I currently drive a 2007 V6 Deluxe Automatic Mustang, but I've been eyeballing the 2011 v6's for a few months and am just about ready to buy one. Do you think the manual is easy enough to learn? I am just worried that it will get tiresome on my 30 mile route to and from work each day. You seem to do well enough with it though, haha. Thanks for the into btw.
@PJthePlayer Despite all the issues I have read online, I enjoy driving manual. Its the ultimate driving experience and I believe that anyone can learn to drive manual both for daily driving and at the track. There is a learning curve, but definitely worth it. I also have a big commute of 60 miles round trip to get to work but I enjoy it. Especially after all the cool toys that I put in my mustang.. I would only recommend you get the manual if you REALLY think you would enjoy it..

@loanshark99 The Kenwood is a excelon kvt-614 and it is a 7" dvd touch screen monitor.. I love it.. It is about a year old and I took it out of my previous car and put it in my mustang. In order to install in the mustang you need to change out the entire a/c and radio controls in the center with the Metra 99-5823CH Dash kit.. It is like $350 or so but it is a requirement to get a double din and it is VERY flush.. people have commented that it looks factory.. highly recommend this setup..
@PJthePlayer Also when making a decision on weather you should get manual or auto check out this thread talking about the Chinese made MT82 transmissions on the 2011 Mustang.. @pastelasoproductions Very interesting, thanks for the information. I've never had any trouble out of my current automatic transmission, but then again I've only put 50,000 miles on it. The manual also saves $1000 off the price of the 2011. I'll probably see about driving my buddies manuals and see if I can get comfortable with it.
@testify221 This is why I asked the obviously more mature uploader for advice. Practicality enters into the consideration for me making both viable options worth considering, especially with the new 6 speed transmissions. Manual transmissions are fun at first, but get old fast when you get stuck in traffic and commute 60 miles a day to work. Plus they are harder to sell as far as V6 models are concerned. The main reason I'd consider a manual is the $1000 price difference for the automatic.

I am not a fan of v6 mustang because well it you wifes car and you get a gt. Now I can understand getting the new one because of the gas mileage and thats cool. But for a series person gt is the guys and the v6 is the girls no offense anybody just my thoughts. Although your V6 sound sick almost as good as an new 5.0

@GoGoggansGo Funny thing is.. This V6 is more powerful than any of the Mustang's V8s leading up to 2010...I wouldn't necessarily consider this particular V6 model a woman's car. You may as well consider the older V8s a woman's cars as well..

@abzdefg321123 More powerful stock for stock but there is not much room for upgrades on these new 3.7L as they already have high flow 4 valve heads, high compression, aggressive camshafts etc. A heads/cam/intake on an old 5.0 or a 2V 4.6 is going to jump the power past the 6 easily. The only option for any real power gain on the 6 is forced induction. The tune and exhaust is worth a good chunk of power but not quite enough for 12s and then that's it.

@abzdefg321123 Definitely not more powerful, all the older V8's have at least 30 more lb-ft of torque, and not to mention that V8 rumble or sound.
This V6 (even though it has a pretty powerful engine) is still meant for the daily driver and was never intended to race (drive shaft can't handle intense speeds) I'm buying one simply because I can't afford the new GT, and gas mileage is a plus. It's still a base line Mustang, but an awesome one.

Just got this on my 2011 V6 Mustang, and it sounds amazing i love it... you can easily control the drone and i love the small amount of vibration (kinda wish there was more), and the sound cant get any better for a V6... sounds like a race car. Crazy

@Rachymeow bad lol and it vibrates a little too but only between 2600 and 3000rpms... you get used to it but you kind of wish it wasn't there.. i haven't heard the bolra atak in person but if i could go back i would probably get that since i haven't heard anything negative about them..

@jamesyak52 I think everyone would LOVE to have a 5.0 but it starts at 29k and out the door probably 32k-33k and mines was 24k out the door and these mods were $1300. Yes the GT would still spank the V6 but only by about half a second. It is alot but i'm 2 cylinders less..

@pastelasoproductions rofl, first off, no 2011 5.0 gt is going to be 33k. i see a ton of them brand new for 28k and if you knew anything you negotiate on cars.. not just buy at sticker... you definatelly got ripped on your car then. second off. a new gt is around 28k out the door after negotiation. i know this because i just got a 2011 5.0. second.. if your concerned about the price.. then why not just wait till now and get a used one for like 22k-24k... with like 10k miles on it.. yeah..

@pastelasoproductions plus people fail to realize that a v6 is appx 300lbs lighter than gt which makes it a much better everyday driver, you can feel the weight difference....i drove both, then bought a premium silver/sadle 6 seed. which i had a 3.31, but i couldnt resist at the dealer when i saw the car.(6spd).

1. How much more you pay in gas for a GT than a V6 we all know. And stop looking at the numbers on the damn window sticker because those numbers are under perfect conditions.
2. Most you guys don't even think about the insurance pricings... My 2011 V6 only costs me $92.00 a month to insure, and thats 100% fully loaded insurance with a 500 deductible.
so no, he couldn't have had a 5.0

@TheDreamTheory lol well i have an 07Shelby GT500 SVT and my insurance is only 85 bucks a month with full coverage and a 200 dollar deductible through USAA. LOL and who cares about gas mileage. you dont drive a stang cross country so who cares. i use 93 octane only at 3.33 a gallon where im at and i could care less. and im not rich i work for my pennies. :)

@jamesyak52 The new 3.7L is an amazing motor. It'll smoke the old GT (which is 90% of Stangs) without a thought. Plus the mpgs are much better than the 5.0L and the sound is just as nice.

Im going to get the metra dash kit you have, but how is the quality of the new ac controlls? Was it that hard to take the old one out? It looks to me like you start from the center consol.Oh yeah, I like your setup. the exhaust sounds real nice. I want to do all that but I aslo want to put some 20s on it but dont know if it would slow it down to much

@LWAEJGK19 THe Metra Kit is AWESOME. The quality of the buttons is great and installation was easy as well. It integrated very well with my mustang and people even think it is stock because of the color and quality. It allows you to change text, screen lcd color and contrast. It is expensive but worth it. Highly recommend it if you wanna out in an after market radio. And if you ask me, i prefer buttons for AC over knobs any day ;-p

im getting this exhaust next week or this friday :) btw whats the pinping diameter of the axle backs, i know the stock are 2.25 i need to check if this are 2.5 bcuz im planning on putting some longtube headers this summer :)

@2115will I'm on the same boat as you because i'm getting 2.5 soon as well.. All I can tell you is that the axle back fit snug on the 2.25 stock pipes.. I don't see how an extra .25 wouldn't fit on our exhaust.. atleast I hope so.. Have you decided what 2.5in piping you are going with?

@pastelasoproductions well im planning on putting bbk long tube headers with bbk x pipe thats all 2.5 there then im gonna take it to a muffler shop n let them custom made that pipe between the axlebacks n the mid pipes, + 3.55 or 3.73 gears+ JLT CAI+ BAMA R tune thats my plan for this summer then somewhere in winter install a lighter driveshaft

@2115will I read that for manual the 4.10s are too steep and 1st gear is way to short.. I'm probably jumping on the 3.73s and headers. Let me know how that goes if you get them before me!

Lots of consternation going on about the noise, the hard ticking/tapping, lots of unhappy owners. Ford has yet to come up with a fix but they are documenting all cars with the noise.

@Ltngdrvr I did notice that this noise was more apparent after I put the mods on.. Wonder if its the CAI or tune that is making it more pronounced than all the other v6s you have heard..

@pastelasoproductions I am sure it is nothing bud, I have heard many 3.7s and most of them sound just like yours! The "noise" this guy is refering to is much louder and can be heard with the hood closed and the engine cold!

@Ltngdrvr Actually the noise is not to bad, infact it sounds almost normal since I have driven many mustangs with the 3.7. Stop getting the guy worked up for nothing! 1st, it only happens when the engine is cold and 2nd it is only on cars that are built before a certain build date.

@KoolJust4U The auto is still good but again everyone has a personal preference but I believe that a manual v6 stang can launch harder than a auto v6 stang.. Not sure how fast the shifts are in the auto but i'm sure that with practice you can shift faster and harder in a manual.. About the multitasking in a manual, i'm sure everyone here that has a manual has at some point eaten a burger and driven at the same time. Just use your left hand to steer and shift :-) or throw it in 5th or 6th asap..

@KoolJust4U heard the automatic is the better of the two trannies. Its an in house ford design and fords automaic transmissions are known to be long lasting and pretty modable.

@blackpenguin69 Yea the windows were down but with the windows up it sounds like 2 subs in the trunk at certain rpms. Planning on putting dynomat in the trunk to see if it helps but i'm not complaining. When i'm cruising at 70 you cant hear it unless you step on it.

Just went to PBIR and ran a 13.444 at the quarter. Had no one to film but next time I go, which will be next week I will have someone film it. Super happy with the .3 second gain! And I still haven't taken off the cats!

Is this a manual or an auto? I'm still trying to decide which one I want. I've heard custom tunes are more beneficial to automatics.

@PJthePlayer It is manual.. I have also heard that the custom tunes for the autos changes the shift points to be higher and more aggressive. I have yet to see one or be in one however I believe that standard, if you can drive it, can launch out of the hole faster and harder and can even shift between gears harder.. That's just me.. And on you tube I haven't seen very good 60' times for autos.. they are around 2.4 and 2.5 which for this car should be in 2.0sec..

@pastelasoproductions Hmm, well I've only ever driven a manual vehicle maybe once or twice in my life. I currently drive a 2007 V6 Deluxe Automatic Mustang, but I've been eyeballing the 2011 v6's for a few months and am just about ready to buy one. Do you think the manual is easy enough to learn? I am just worried that it will get tiresome on my 30 mile route to and from work each day. You seem to do well enough with it though, haha. Thanks for the into btw.

@PJthePlayer Despite all the issues I have read online, I enjoy driving manual. Its the ultimate driving experience and I believe that anyone can learn to drive manual both for daily driving and at the track. There is a learning curve, but definitely worth it. I also have a big commute of 60 miles round trip to get to work but I enjoy it. Especially after all the cool toys that I put in my mustang.. I would only recommend you get the manual if you REALLY think you would enjoy it..

@pastelasoproductions: Awesome vid! I'm purchasing an '11 V6 this week and also will be modifying the exhaust with the Roush Axel-backs. What was that loading in your CD player? I saw Kenwood, but not familiar with the system.
@PJthePlayer: I'm driving a 2000 'Stang V6 now...$160k miles on it and will keep it for the snow driving. It's a manual, but I'm going with the Automatic this time. I love the sportiness of the manual, just getting tired of it now.

@loanshark99 The Kenwood is a excelon kvt-614 and it is a 7" dvd touch screen monitor.. I love it.. It is about a year old and I took it out of my previous car and put it in my mustang. In order to install in the mustang you need to change out the entire a/c and radio controls in the center with the Metra 99-5823CH Dash kit.. It is like $350 or so but it is a requirement to get a double din and it is VERY flush.. people have commented that it looks factory.. highly recommend this setup..

@PJthePlayer Also when making a decision on weather you should get manual or auto check out this thread talking about the Chinese made MT82 transmissions on the 2011 Mustang.. Seems like there are possibly some issues with it.. You can get to the thread by going to allfordmustang and search for official 2011 mustang rough shifting.. youtube wouldn't let me add a link :-/

@pastelasoproductions Very interesting, thanks for the information. I've never had any trouble out of my current automatic transmission, but then again I've only put 50,000 miles on it. The manual also saves $1000 off the price of the 2011. I'll probably see about driving my buddies manuals and see if I can get comfortable with it.

@testify221 This is why I asked the obviously more mature uploader for advice. Practicality enters into the consideration for me making both viable options worth considering, especially with the new 6 speed transmissions. Manual transmissions are fun at first, but get old fast when you get stuck in traffic and commute 60 miles a day to work. Plus they are harder to sell as far as V6 models are concerned. The main reason I'd consider a manual is the $1000 price difference for the automatic.
