I'm planning to get a Subaru as my next car for the weather conditions (rain, snow, and dirt). I think the Legacy or Impreza will be my top choices. The 2003-2009 Legacys look great, and the Imprezas 2007-present look good. I would go with the Legacy 2.5i Premium or 3.0 R. For the Impreza, the 2.5i hatch model or the WRX model with the manual.
Will someone please, please, please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me where to get english software like this car for the navigation system for an import!!! I'll buy a whole new computer if I have to... i just want to be able to read it in english!!!!
Seams your main thing is MPG. You should try more diesels.
Espesially the boxer 4 in subaru and BMW's diesels.
I know the diesel range is limited in the US, but there is alot of performance alternative diesels that you miss out of in the US that has very good mpg.
And kadiatu 123 it was Jackie Stewart that named nurnburgring the green hell and not the Germans.
@McDiezel Indeed! We always enjoy getting behind the wheel of a diesel-powered vehicle. We're looking forward to the Subaru diesels. You'll find clips of the BMW 123d and 335d in our channel ... awesome cars ...
I have been there and i recomend it ;-) its a lot of fun. but this year i sold my 225hp seat leon because of the many problems and the macanic told me i could not drive it fat :-D that is why i bought it. the subaru i can fix myself and the ones i have now has been driving 380.000km , 493.000km and the last one 240.000 km and all are in good shape dispite i have tryed to kill them many times
hi i have been driving legacy the last 10 year i have at the moment 3 legacy´s and nothing beets it. i know you might think ferrari or posche but in its class and best of all tis the low maintaince cost. i have owned bmw , MG , Ford ,VW , Seat , Audi , Volvo and all of them does at some point cost me a lot of repair ewen without going on the track ( Nürburgring ) or Greenhell as the german call it.
The nice thing about Subaru's AWD system is that its full time unlike others that give more power to the front or rear instead of being equally distubuted.
really! you've got to be joking me! look @ hotrod182 videos and tell me again that you think a 335xi is a competitor to the legacy 3.0r. Its just not even close!
well no shit the 335xi would smoke a legacy in a straight line with all those mods, but thats all it has against it....a straight line speed, i dont know where you're from junior but most roads around me have the occasional turn, plus id like to see that beamer take on the legacy in the snow or on the dirt, off the pavement the awd will prevail against the rwd
Don't call me junior and stop being ignorant. All hotrod182 has is a tune and drag radials...thats is. The 335i was tuned in germany (ya know...the country where the Nurnberg ring is) and has a 0.87 skidpad vs the legacy's 0.82 skidpad. Learn your facts before you start posting BS! And there is something called a 335Xi (X MEANS AWD). I hate ignorant people...so so much
ok buddy and by the way my legacy has a .86 skidpad (100% stock) so i dont know where you saw .82, and thats great that its tuned in germany but how often am i gonna drive on nuremberg (<---thats actually how its spelled), you can say all these specs about a car all day long but at the end of the day its all about how it performs in the real world
I got the 0.82 from car and drivers test of the 2.5 Legacy after failing to find the 3.0r's after one google search. How is hotrod's testing not real world?and btw its "Nürburgring" we were both wrong.
i hate the impreza wrx and sti models but i love the legacy models.... very clean and way better looking.... even though im a evo fan legacys are way better for the buck and mpg
I've had this car for almost a year and one half. I like it very much BUT: the sound system doesn't "rock" - it sucks. Very mediocre sound quality. If it matters to you, check it out before buying. Also, the GPS graphics are pathetic, but perhaps that will be upgraded. Otherwise, great car.
If you are a "spirited driver" with any knowledge or balls, obviously you are going to buy the turbo 5-speed 2.5 GT Legacy, not this thing.
And DON'T EVER take on an Altima 3.5 in a 3.0R Legacy!! That wouldn't work out too well.
In fact, the ONLY reason at all I can think of for buying this vehicle would be if you towed a camper or boat often. The torque of the 6 would be good for that, but it certainly doesn't come close to the performance numbers of the Legacy GT.
This car's got style & substance. It would bury the Altima anyday! The standard does 0-60 in 6.9secs (faster than Altima). However u just change the ECU of this 3.0R & it will do 0-60 in 6 secs, that's a lot faster than the Altima & 2.5L Turbo. Have u seen the size of the H6 boxer engine? Imagin adding a twin turbo to that, it could probably do 0-60 in less than 4secs. Constant AWD gives it amazing handling too
Subaru still imports some cars from there plant, mostly the outbacks though. you can tell by the sticker on the side of the car, it will either say team crafted in Indiana or a huge lettered OK and a Subaru logo, the past two I've had were imported ones the impreza i have now was made in Indiana!
No, try again. All Legacy, Outback, and Tribeca product sold in the US is produced at SIA. All Impreza and Forester product sold in the US is produced in Guma Japan.

@afrerose1 Thanks! The Legacy 3.0R is designed to run premium fuel. MPGs are all about the way you drive it ...
