Wow!! Quite good. I guess I only wonder at the tempo chosen for this trombone piece--while magnificent, does it fit the tone of the song? Or is that tempo necessary in order to get it across ON a trombone--all that sliding and everything...
Christ this is one of the reasons I stopped playing the Trombone, I could never hope to be even a tenth this proficient. For me to continue to play would have been to kid myself that I was doing anything but doing a disservice to those that could. Brett this was amazing, my hats off to you.
@Alxariamify Well you'd have to understand that while technically I could play the notes I am hardly able to inspire like Brett here can. I played from the forth grade all the way through to my graduating from OSU. I played in the symphony, sports bands and jazz groups but while I was proficient I knew my limitations as well I was never going to make a living at it so there you are. Now on a more personal note try and confine your posts to the videos and not reply directly to an individual.
I love this piece. I have it now with a piano accompaniment. A little bit too much articulation and staccato notes, but the legato part (moderato section) is so soft and sweet. The staccato parts really brings out this beautiful section. The F minor chord compression brings out a new feeling. The ending of this simply takes away the soul. This was played excellently.
I really do not like bretts sound on his Rath for me He was much smoother and round sounding during his Conn days great playing but now has that awful edge rasp to it.he never ever sounded like that during his Fairey days just listen to his cds on chandos he had a beautiful sound then
FANTASTICO, Excepcional, Excelente..! Gracias por subir este Video..! Saludos a la Orquesta, al Director, A BRETT...! Felicitaciones...! Jose Luis (trombonista)

I think it is time to slow down when all you hear is tonguing and no notes...
